Parent Tip:

Heres a writing activity your child will love!

Take pictures of your child doing various activities, (playing a game, reading a book, riding a bike, doing a chore). Your child will want to take a couple of pictures too, (of you, siblings, pets, friends). Print or develop the pictures. Have your child look at each picture and describe what is happening. Encourage her to use lots of details. Now have your child choose one picture and write about it. Let her do the writing but assist as needed. Encourage her to sound out words and to correctly spell Popcorn Words. Do the writing at a bottom of the paper and glue the picture at the top. Do one a day or every other day. Soon youll have enough pages to compile into a book. Make a cover and staple.

Enjoy a great read with your child!
