My Home Theatre
It all started back in 1994 on a visit to my dads house when I first experienced a glimpse of what home cinema is, The setup was very basic by todays standards but the performance at the time was very impressive.  The basics of the system included a Goodmans amp with pseudo (4 spkr) surround and a Nicam VCR wired to 2 pairs of Wharfedale speakers.  I was amazed as I had never heard anything like it ever before.

Less than 3 months later my dad was plannng an amp upgrade to a true Dolby pro-logic setup and I was offered the old Goodmans for my own starter system, the rest as they say is history.

Today, after 7 years of system building, experimentation and commitment I am privilaged to be using and to have used, some of the finest equipment available at sensible cost and have a system more sophisticated than Darthvaders bathroom.

The Equipment

3 X Myryad MA240 Power amplifiers. I listened to many amps and these were the best value -sound

Sony SCD777ES SACD player (truly the finest example of build and sound quality at reasonable cost)
Thomson PVR10 TIVO anyone considering a VCR upgrade should have one of these (FANTASTIC)
Panasonic NVHS900 SVHS VCR great video recorder but let down by expensive SVHS tapes
Panasonic TH42PW4 The ultimate plasma pannel

All speaker cables QED silver Anniversary Bi wire (Cable of the year, brightens up the B&W's)
All Scart cables IXOS GOLD
All Interconnects QED Qunex 4 (couldn't hear any difference between this and Silver anniversary)
Main Hi Fi rack, Custom design Aspect 6 tier (looks and sounds great)
TV rack, Custom design Ultimate AVE2 (Looks and sounds great)
Sonicblue progear tablet pc running mainlobby software .  used ror remote operation of upstairs pc.

The Room

I am very fortunate to have a very undertsanding partner and no children (yet) so I am able to have my system positioned in optimal conditions as far as room size and shape allow.  When we were choosing a place to live the highest priority for me was to be able to set my system up for the best performance so when I was given the opportunity to design the shape of the lounge in our new house I jumped with joy.
