Taman
Tasik Permaisuri is a man-made park. In fact, it is the biggest park located
on southern Kuala Lumpur and boasts its newly laid synthetic jogging track,
topiary gardens, floral arch trellises, gazebos and man-made island softscapes. Nestled between the concrete jungle of Kuala Lumpur City Center
and the many highways that serve this area, it has a large catchment of
residents staying around Cheras, Ampang, Bukit Jalil and adjacent
neighborhoods.
It is a favourite among joggers, picnic-goers and great for family outings
and taiqi too. Once in a while, the park is used as location for wedding
shots. The park comes with a variety of jogging routes. The three main ones
are the 1.3km, 1.8km and 4.7km. The undulated terrain on this former mining
pool area, makes jogging even more interesting.
On a usual weekday, the park is inundated with joggers and mostly made up of
Pacesetter members.
