the family Xena relaxes
Mom, Odie, Me and Dad on Odie's 40th birthday Xena in on of her more relaxed poses

We recently went to D.C. to visit some of Lenore's family. We had a great time visiting Austin & William, Laura & Joe, Lyla & Tracy, and lunching with Zita (delicious!). Highlights include: trick or treating at the white house (of all the nerve, nobody answered, so we TPd the place and peed on the rose garden), visiting the Spy Museum (very cool) and the Holocaust Museum (overwhelming and sad, but a must-see), going out for Vietnamese food (and getting a birthday present too!) riding in Laura's Mini to Baltimore to see Zita, going to the big Eastern market with Laura, sampling homemade ice cream after spaghetti at Lyla and Tracys, and wandering through the American Visionary Museum (its in Baltimore, but worth the drive!). We also got a crash course in abacus use (abacussing?) from Joe and made fabulous crepes with Austin and William (and Edvard the Basset Hound). The crepes were inspired by our visit to see Julia Childs kitchen at the Smithsonian. We also visited Archie and Edith Bunkers chairs, Mr. Rogers sweater and Fonzies leather jacket (which I always thought was black, but its brown!). Here are a few pics from the visit.

Here's me in front of the White House just before trick or treating. We were dressed as tourists. Austin and Lenore standing naturally in front of the Julia Child display. They look so lifelike!
