| Flora and fauna of Periwinkle Bushland | ||||||||||||
| On Thursday June 20 2002, Ms Wilkinson's Year 7 students from Mullaloo Heights Primary School spent an enjoyable, educational and productive hour collecting seeds from local species in the bushland. Assisted by several members of the Friends group, the children were able to find a variety of seeds and will attempt to germinate these over the coming weeks. If they are successful the plants will be returned to the bush at a later date. Having a window into our native bush so close to our primary school gives the children, their teachers and families a wonderful opportunity to explore and learn about the flora and fauna which are still abundant in this area. |
