FRAM PLANS (prototype)
Instructions

The TOP picture shows the frame design from the top view. The measurments are approximate, and will be revised and adjusted to include end notching and material width. The dashed lines show how frame gussets should be used. At a minimum, every outside corner should have a gusset. It should be noted that the more gussets you use throughout the frame, the stronger it will be.

The BOTTOM picture shows the profile view, and the front view of the frame. This picture is used to show the importance of the angles for the king pin bolts. Go Kart steering geometery is very important if you want your go kart to turn properly. I have ignored this in the past, and learned the hard way. In the Front View you can see that the the angle should be tilted 15 degrees inward at the top. In the side view, you can see that I have labeled the rear tilt at 10 degrees. This is a little high, and can be done  anywhere between 5 and 10 degrees.

This particular frame design is going to be adapted to 2 different drive setups, a single tire drive and a live axle drive. More details to come.
