First Love
The melody that the warrior played in the forest would attract a single soul. His sparkling blue eyes would rest upon the frame of a female, who would watch him for hours before running off. This continued for nearly a week before Ryan would actually confront the girl. She was a year or two younger than him, with copper hair that fell wildly down her back. By her scent he could tell she was human, giving him cause to hold distrust towards her. One day when they met as usual a few armed humans came hunting for the girl. Naturally Ryan would protect her, easily defeating the armed humans. Because he had saved her life, she would take a liking to him and follow him around everywhere. The warrior wasn't ready to care for her yet; having hated females and humans for most of his life. It was as if everything he disliked was staring him in the face. However, after a week or two his heart began to melt for her, and the pair enjoyed many happy days together. Ryan's first love would be a human, which seemed pretty ironic since he spent most of his life hating them with such a passion.
Like all good things that came into his life, their relationship would end just as fast as it had begun. The nameless girl would vanish into the night, never to be seen again. Heartbroken, he would spend countless nights playing his flute in the spot where they had first met, hoping that she would one day return to him. That would never happen as Ryan would find out one night. The sound of gunfire erupted near the laboratory. When the warrior had arrived, what he saw would change his life forever. His first love lying there in a pool of her own blood, already dead before he reached her. It was as if someone had tore his still beating heart out from his body. He never knew who was responsible for her death, but he knew deep down that it was a human; probably one that was hunting for him. He learned a valuable lesson that day, never to love, because it only ended up hurting the ones he cared for.
After a few months of searching, Ryan would find the ones responsible for her death. A pair of humans that sought out the youth so they could use him as their pet. At that moment the boy would snap, losing control of himself as the need to wipe out humanity overtook him. The urge to kill was always strong within him, and he often kept it in check. However, this was too much. Before the brothers knew what hit them, Ryan had broken down the door and shot a pair of darts into each of them. The brothers would fall asleep, leaving Ryan with a wicked grin upon his lips. Death for these two was too good for them, so he came up with another plan. The older brother's eyes would be removed and his mouth stitched shut so he could never see again to shoot a weapon at another life. The younger brother would lose both hands, so he could never fire or harm another ever again. As sick as Ryan's punishment was, it was the right thing to do in his eyes. The warrior had something stripped from him, and it was only right to return the favor to them.
Ryan would once again seal himself away from the outside world, keeping to himself if he ever went out. Months after the incident with his first love, another would enter his life to rekindle his trust in humans. A female named Amikan would enter his life for a short time, offering him comfort and a shoulder to cry on. It took her a while to earn his trust, but when she did he would be intensely loyal to her. Not a hand was laid on her without Ryan being somewhere nearby to take revenge on the poor soul that dared to harm her. Ryan didn't care if she were an elf or not, because he learned that it wasn't about who or what someone was..but how they acted and treated others. Sadly enough, Amikan would vanish from his life after only a few months of friendship. Ryan promised himself on that day never to leave the laboratory forever until he could see her again, just one last time. Some might say that the forest girl was his first true love; but she existed before Ryan ever understood the meaning of love. Surely Amikan, that secluded, mysterious woman would be his first true love. Once in a while Ryan could be seen in the hidden graveyard he made for all those that left him in one way or another sitting upon her particular headstone. A sad melody would play, as if calling out for her to return to him. It didn't matter if someone was dead or alive to be in this graveyard, it was more of a way of honoring the person for all eternity. To this day the warrior feels an empty spot inside, waiting for the day that void in his heart vanishes.
