Background: Hope takes place after the finale of season 7, so no Doggett. Hey, I wrote it last summer. If you had told me then that the T-1000 was gonna be on the show, I would have laughed profusely at you. But anyways, Scully's kid is a boy (how did I know that then? Although I thought he'd be named Fox. I changed it for reality's sake.) Mulder was never found. Scully continued work at the FBI, and eventually returned working under Skinner instead of evil Kersh. Kersh still has jurisdiction over Mulder's case though. To the world, Mulder was dead and buried. But Scully never gave up hope for the man she loved. Seem mushy? Can't be when you see what's happened to him. Believe you me, he's not gonna do any talking for a while now.

Season Finale Recap.: Mulder, Scully, and the sherriff are out in the woods. Scully gets zapped and faints. She is later taken to the hospital.
Mulder stands under the soft, blue light of a spacecraft with many other people. He is taken aboard while Skinner searches for him.
Scully and Skinner talk as she lays in a hospital bed. She reveals that she is pregnant.

* * FIVE YEARS LATER * *

Scully stands in a cemetary with a small boy. The grave she stands at is Mulder's. The headstone reads 'Fox Mulder 1964-2000'. Scully bends down and gently places a bouquet of flowers in front of it. She stands back up and places a tender hand on the child's shoulder. He looks up at her, eyes full of curiosity. "Mommy," he begins, "Is that where Daddy is?" She looked down to where Mulder's body would be. "No, at least, not yet." The boy looked confused. "Where is he Mommy?" She let a tear trickle down her cheek. "I don't know... I don't know." The boy asked one last question. "Mommy, do you miss Daddy?" Scully let a few more tears slide down. "Yes, very much." She put her arm around him and they left. The caption on the grave reads 'Beloved Friend and Father.'
