Others such as DiC, Mixxxine, and others we haven't mention we give credit to all the work they have done to make 'Sailor Moon' fun and entertainment for all ages. Oh and a little note, after finishing the story "Broken Hearted", by Dreamress, (is dat it?) well I (Nar ... not Win...) realized that this story is partly similar to hers. So, I'm sorry!!!! I didn't mean it. HONEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *don't sue me please!?!??! -whimpers-* Notes: Nar: I know, I know you hate these type of stuff but hey... we care too. Sheesh... alright now to business, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for your reviews, WE appreciate it very much. *muah* *waves* ... (Win pushes Nar away from the mic.) Win: Hola todavia! (I have no idea what that means so don't ask.) I would like to thank all those people who e-mailed Narssisus about Chapter One, it was very thrilling to find about that people really liked the idea and everything. A note on the story: this is not a typical two author's story. For this story Narssisus wrote the first chapter and I wrote the second and she will write the third, well you get the idea. Just so you know because our writing styles are very different and...yeah! Anyway, thanks to all that e-mailed about the story. And I would personally like to thank Narssisus and Marie J.W. for their constant support. Thanks a lot you guys. Nar: ~thinking~ didn't I just SAY that? oh and todavia means everyone btw. OK BACK TO THE STORY!!!! / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- Serena walked along the sidewalk with less bounce in her step and happiness in her smile. What was she going to do? She was dared to take out one guy for an entire month. And with her varied track record that would be easy (Win-It's a good record not a bad one. Our lovable Serena isn't a slut or anything like that. Back to the story....). But Raye purposely picked the one guy in the school that wanted nothing to do with her. Darien Shields. Even the name was sexy. And the man fully lived up to his name. He was 6' 2" if he was an inch. And every section of that full 6' 2" was covered in fine toned muscles that any football player would envy. The one aspect that topped it all off was ice blue eyes that forced you to be pulled in with their burning gaze and a crop of thick ebony hair that was screaming for Serena to brush her fingers through it. If Darien Shields was one thing it was sexy. But he wasn't just one thing. He was everything. President of the senior class. VP for the student council government. Feature editor of the schools weekly paper. And a genius. Compared to him Serena was exactly was everyone thought she was. The ditzy head cheerleader (Win- I don't mean to stereotype. So I apologize to any cheerleaders I just offended. Keep reading....). The on and off girlfriend of the quarterback. Little did people know that every year Serena managed her way into the top 10% of her class. That she was a wiz in Spanish and a wonderful writer. No, they didn't. And Serena thought she liked it that way. She was starting to realize she wanted to be known for more than her popularity, she wanted to be known for her intelligence and mind. But there was little she could do about that, she thought to herself with a grimace as she set off to find Darien, again. / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- She found him casually sitting in the public library with his nose stuck in a book. If she was shocked to see him reading one of her favorite books, no one could tell. If her heart missed a beat when she saw him in glasses, she figured no one would notice the light blush on her checks. She approached with all the dignity she could muster and waited for him to notice her, as not to interrupt him in the middle of a good section of the book. He glanced up at her with un-focused blue eyes that contained an almost happy look but when they cleared all she could see the dislike he had for her. The kind that burned from the soul and she almost started to cry. Why would he hate her? What had she done? She knew this would be hard. She didn't think it would be impossible. "What do you want Serena," he asked on a sigh as he started reading again, in a weak attempt to discourage her. It didn't work. "I don't understand why you wouldn't go to eat with me," she said as she stared at the floor hoping he wouldn't notice that she was lying. She wanted to convince him to go out with her to win a title. She wasn't supposed to care what he thought. But she did anyway. "I just wanted too talk with you. I thought maybe you could help me with Chemistry." "I don't tutor people. Ask the teacher," he replied with pure disgust and went back to his book. "Please, just one dinner. That's all I want. I'll even pay. Please?" She stared down at him with the best sad expression she could make; it always worked. After a moment he replied: "Okay, one dinner.", giving in to a common female device, as he gathered up his books. She realized that Darien Shields wasn't as immune to her as he thought; he had just agreed to dinner with her. And didn't know what had possessed him to say yes. / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- As they walked into the best restaurant in town, and the local hangout, Serena ignored the stares of disbelief and disgust as the owner escorted Darien and her to their table. After they were seated and the waitress was off getting their drinks, Serena realized that she didn't have a single clue on what to talk to him about. Luckily, she didn't have to think about a topic of conversation. Darien surprised her again by starting the conversation off. "So, Serena. Why do you, the MOST popular girl in the ENTIRE school, want to hang out with me, arguably the schools BIGGEST nerd?" He asked with pure venom in his voice. Telling her that beyond a doubt the he didn't care what she thought of him, and wouldn't believe any lies she tried to tell him. He just wanted to know why. "I really wanted help with my chemistry. And since you are a genius at that type of stuff, you were the obvious choice. Then, when you said no, I wanted to know why you hate me," she replied, deciding that what she said wasn't a total lie. She did need help and she really wanted to know why he hated her. "You want to know why I hate you? Believe me it's not only you. I don't like any of you, the "popular" group, and I have my reasons," he said with a light humor in his eyes, as if it was funny to him. "Let me tell you a story, Serena. Do you remember Hotaru Tomoe? No of course you don't. Her father was Dr. Thomas Tomoe; he was my mother's brother-in-law. After I spent a few years in the orphanage I was sent to the Tomoes'. Thomas became my legal guardian and I started going to school here. Hotaru was in the same grade as I was; she was very intelligent so she was moved ahead a few years. I would watch the way people treated her. They would pretend to be her friend so she would give them homework answers or let them cheat off her during tests. She thought they really liked her, of course they didn't but she wouldn't listen to me when I tried to tell her. They gained her confidence and she told them her deepest secret. "Hotaru was adopted by Dr. Tomoe at a very young age. Her mother was a substance abuser and carried the HIV virus. Hotaru was born months too early and doctors realized that her mother passed on to her the deadly virus. She told all her friends that in a study session one day and, as she started blacking out, they all left her. They were afraid of her and they were heartless. I found her in a corner of the library. She was white as a sheet and didn't have much of a pulse. I took her too the hospital but it was too late. She died later that night and if one person had stayed behind she would have lived. But they only cared for themselves. "So that's why I hate all of you. You pretend to be a person's friend but are only using them. That's why I won't help you and that's why I don't like you. I got to go I'll see you later." And as he left Serena made no move to stop or go after him. She simply couldn't. / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- She didn't know what to do now. He hated her, which was understandable. And after that story, she hated herself too. How could a person do that? She didn't get it; Darien didn't get it either. So she decided that they would find out together, as she knocked on his apartment door. He opened it wide and Serena could smell the talc on him from soap. His hair was damp from a shower and droplets of water trickled down his face and neck. She almost fainted on the spot. But she was rudely awakened from her trance with his sharp tongue: "What do you want Serena?" "I know that you don't like me for who my friends are. And I understand your reasons. But I am not just a cheerleader or a member of the elite popular group. I'm a person, Darien, not a stereotype and I would really like to be your friend." Until she finished, she didn't realize that she was telling the truth. She did want to be his friend. She wanted to know what he liked, what he didn't like, what made him happy, what made him tick. Not just for a title. She needed to know him. For the longest time he just stared at her and then with a quick and genuine grin, he opened the door wider. "I would like to be your friend too, Serena," he smiled as he welcomed her into his house. / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- / @-->--- What do you think?
