ETERNAL LOVE
Chapter 2
Sailor Galaxy

Sailor Moon started running towards her original destination. When she got 
there, she saw that the Scouts had weakened the youma who looked exactly like 
Swordica had. Sailor Moon twirled her sceptre the second time that day and 
pointed it at the weakened youma.

" Moon Sceptre Elimination!"

It turned into dust again saying the exact same thing Swordica had said.

" Where were you Sailor Moon? We nearly died out here. What were you doing? 
Pigging out on candy?"

Sailor Mars spat out at Sailor Moon as she pulled at her skirt where a large 
piece of clothe had torn off.

" Sailor Mars let me explain-" 

Sailor Moon began but was cut of by Sailor Mercury.

" I'm sorry Sailor Moon but this time you went too far."

" I have to agree with them. How could you Sailor Moon?" 

Sailor Venus turned a disgusted glance at the now near tears Scout of the Moon.

" But guys listen to me. It's not what you think. I-"

Sailor Jupiter looked at Sailor Moon with what resembled pity.

" Gotta say I thought that you were the perfect leader but I guess I was 
wrong. What could be more important to you other than your friends?"

" Obviously she thinks that cookies are." 

Sailor Mars sneered at her.

" I'm sorry Sailor Moon. I can't believe you did that. We're having a meeting 
at the usual place tomorrow." 

Sailor Mercury told her.

Sailor Venus warned the now crying Scout.

" Yeah, and you better be there. Or we'll assume that you're no longer 
interested in staying a Sailor Scout."

" Hopefully we'll see you later." 

Sailor Jupiter called back as she and the other Scouts reverted back to their 
normal selves and walked away, leaving Sailor Moon standing behind them, 
crying, a solitary figure in the midst of the park.

     Tuxedo Mask was perched on a roof top as he watched the proceedings going 
on. He couldn't believe his eyes. The Scouts had abandoned Sailor Moon after 
she had nearly gotten killed. She had beat the first youma all by herself, and 
the Scouts hadn't even noticed their leader's injury. The others disappeared 
behind a clump of trees and he saw a flash of colours. The Scouts obviously 
detransforming. He had no interest in finding out their true identities, 
especially after what they had just done. 

He sighed and turned his gaze back to Sailor Moon. Her side had stopped 
bleeding and she was using the Silver Crystal to heal herself. Tuxedo Mask 
frowned at this. He hadn't known that Sailor Moon could do that. But he 
supposed that this was a mark of her getting older, more mature and more 
powerful. She was getting capable of handling more power. He watched as she 
turned and walked away with her head bowed. He wanted to follow her to see if 
she okay but an instinct inside him told him to stay where he was. Satisfied 
that Sailor Moon would be fine, he leaped over the roofs and headed towards 
his balcony.

     " SEER! You have failed me. I will not tolerate failure. And from what I 
saw of the battle, Sailor Moon was badly injured. I gave you specific orders 
not to hurt her and to bring her back but you deliberately ignored them." 

King Morhanalia was very angry. And when he was angry, he shouted or killed.

" Please you highness! Please forgive me. It was Swordica's fault. He should 
have been more careful. I had nothing to do with it!" 

Seer begged on his knees in front of the King. 

" I am giving you this last chance. I watched the proceedings and Swordican 
managed to blast the Scouts with one of her crystals. Now whatever criticism 
the Scouts will see in Sailor Moon, it will be magnified ten times. This way 
Sailor Moon might think about joining the Moplatial and ruling by my side. You 
may leave but be warned. I will not have any more mistakes from you. There are 
many more of my followers who would love to have a chance at pleasing me and 
taking your place. That is all. I wish you luck Seer, you will need it."

" Your highness does not need to wish me luck. I will not fail you this time." 

Seer backed out of the throne room.

                       **************************************************

     " Mum, I really don't feel like having any lunch. I'm just not hungry. 
Besides, I have to take of some of the fat that I put on last week." 

Serena didn't look at her mother but stared at her bed.

" Serena dear, you can't skip meals. It's not good for your health. Now honey, 
I can see you're really depressed about something and if you need a good 
shoulder to cry on, just come to me. I'll bring your dinner upstairs."

Mrs Tsukino waited for the cheering but all she got was a weak smile. 

'Something's really bothering Serena. I'll have to have a talk with her 
father. Really, I had no idea that teenagers could be this hard to bring up, 
but still she's my little girl.'

Luna sauntered up to Serena and purred as the door shut behind her mother.

" Serena what's the matter? Did something happen at school?"

" Oh Luna, you're so good to me. I just wish I could repay you somehow."

" Serena, the only way you can repay me is by being happy again."

" You'll have to come to the Temple tomorrow. Then you and Artemis can really 
find out what happened."

" Very well. I'm going to go find Artemis and have a talk with him. You'll be 
okay, won't you?"

" I'll be fine Luna." 

Serena watched Luna jump out of the window. She sighed. She couldn't believe 
it. 

How could the Scouts turn on her like that? Was she really so irresponsible 
that she couldn't even be a Sailor Scout anymore? Deep inside she had a bad 
feeling about this whole picture but who wouldn't when your own best friends 
turn on you? ‘

'I wonder if Tuxedo Mask is also against me? I really hope he isn't. I'm going 
to go crazy if they all turn against me. Oh, somebody tell me what I did?'

KNOCK KNOCK!

" Come in."

" Here's your dinner, dear. Your father and me have to go to a really 
important business dinner and Sammy will be staying at a friend's house. I'd 
like to cancel the dinner seeing that you're not well but I can't at such a 
short notice. You'll be okay won't you sweetheart?"

" I'll be fine, mum. You go and enjoy."

" Okay dear. Don't get into any trouble while we're gone. I left the 
restaurant's phone number downstairs in case of an emergency." 

Mrs Tsukino kissed Serena on the forehead and closed the door behind her. 
Serena looked at the tray. Fish and chips. She usually loved that but today 
she didn't feel like eating anything.

She got up and wrote a note for Luna explaining that she was going for a walk.
Serena grabbed her jacket but thought of something better and transformed. She 
jumped out of her balcony and let her subconscious guide the way. After a few 
minutes she stopped and looked around. She found herself
in front of the Starlight Tower. Sailor Moon gazed out at the sunset and 
thought back to when they had all escaped Malachite's trap and when Tuxedo 
Mask had been captured. 

They had promised that they would always be behind Sailor Moon so where were 
they now? The Scouts had always been beside Sailor Moon in everything she had 
faced. They were there when she had needed help defeating Queen Beryl. They 
had stood up for her against Alan and Ann. They had lent her their powers when 
she was loosing against Wise Man. So why had they now deserted her? Where were 
all the vows of protection they had made? Had she gotton so unbearable that 
they thought that they would be better of without her?

" No, Sailor Moon. That is not true." 

A voice behind her made her jump. She slowly turned around and gasped. There 
stood Queen Serenity. She was just like Sailor Moon last remembered her. Long 
silver silky hair. A Crescent Moon on her forehead.

" Queen Serenity!"

" No need to be so formal my dear. Hmmmm, any idea where my daughter Princess 
Serenity is?"

Sailor Moon smiled and touching her broach she transformed into Princess 
Serenity of the Moon Kingdom. She politely curtsied. Her mother returned the 
gesture.

" Now Serena. Serenity. I watched the last battle and you were very brave."

" It didn't do much good. The Scouts have practically kicked me out of the 
group and they refused to listen to why I was late."

" Serenity , in a war, no one side can win easily. There are losses on both 
sides. Trust between friends is tested to the limit. Consider this a test. 
Your friends will understand you if you tell them the truth about what you 
were feeling at the time they walked away and what you are feeling now. But 
remember Serena, you have to trust them also. Friendship always works two 
ways. If they refuse to listen to you the first time, don't give up. Remember 
Princess Serenity, trust is very important. You must have faith in your 
friends as they must have in you. Remember that, my dear daughter. Trust is 
everything in a friendship." 

Queen Serenity said the last words in a whisper as she slowly drifted away 
towards the sunset and disappeared. 

" Good-bye mother and thank-you." 

Serena called out to her as the Queen vanished.

Princess Serenity detransformed and started walking back home. She could 
easily be there in a few seconds being Sailor Moon, but she needed time to 
think. As she turned a path she stopped as did the person who was in front of 
her. Darien.

" H-hi, Darien. What are you doing here?"

" Oh? So now I'm not even allowed to go where I want?"

" Oh no, no. That's not what I meant. You just surprised me that's all."

" Seems like we're both doing it all the time."

" What's that supposed to mean?

" Nothing, Meatball Head."

Darien paused as if deciding whether to ask something or not.

" I was just wondering whether there was someone with you."

" Why?"

" Because I heard your voice and then an older woman's."

" You- you didn't happen to hear what we were saying did you?"

" No, not exactly. What's the matter, Meatball Head? Planning a murder?"

" Puh-lease Darien. Anyway, it's none of your business." 

Serena started to walk away but Darien grabbed her wrist.

" What do you think you're doing Darien? Let go of me right now."

" I think it is my business. I heard you say, ' good-bye mother and thank-
you'. Now I know for a fact that your mother isn't here. Who were you talking 
to?"

Serena stopped struggling long enough for Darien to loosen his grip on her and 
then she jerked free surprising Darien.

" It is not any of your business, Mr Shields. Now if you'll excuse me, I have 
somewhere important to be and it's not here with you playing twenty questions."

Darien watched Serena walk away and he shook his head as she disappeared 
around a bend. 

'I could have sworn that the woman's voice was Queen Serenity and so if Serena 
called the Queen her mother, she must be the Moon Princess.' 

Darien stopped suddenly at this thought but gave himself a shake as he thought 
of all the times Serena had klutzed out.

'Nah. Serena can't be the Moon Princess. The Princess is graceful and nothing 
like Meatball Head.' 

Darien walked towards his apartment, his mind at rest.


What have the Scouts done? Has Darien, in his mind, still some suspicions 
about Serena? What will he do if he has?
