Hate.

It was 7:00 in the morning, Tsukino Usagi's alarm clock gave it's signal for the sleeping blonde to wake up. She searched the snooze button of her alarm clock and went to sleep again. A few minutes later, her mother came knocking to her door. "Wake up sleepyhead! Time to prepare for school! Better hurry up or else you'll be late!" Ilene Tsukino told her daughter. "In a minute Okaa-san!" Usagi said still with her eyes closed. 45 minutes later, Usagi emerged from her room with her book bag. Her mother offered her some breakfast, but Usagi just grabbed a piece of toast and ran out of the house. She quickly ate her breakfast while she was running towards the direction of her school. When she turned to the last corner, she bumped into something hard. She quickly put herself back again and said, "Gomen nasai! I'm in a hurry!". After that she ran away, leaving a tall, dark-haired man behind her. "Cute" he said to himself, and he too went to his destination. A few seconds later, she was in school and she was late. 10 minutes late for her homeroom to be exact. "Well, well guess who decided to join us in class" her teacher, Ms. Haruna told her. "See you at detention at 3:00", she added. 


'Oh Kami, what do I get this time? I hope it is better than the last time' Usagi thought to herself while her  Ms. Haruna started to give their math test papers. Usagi's train of thoughts were cut short when a voice told her, "Tsukino Usagi, I think you should study harder for the next test. I think I should tell your parents about this". Usagi looked up to see her sensei with her test paper in hand. Usagi quickly grabbed the paper and saw...a THIRTY!!! Again, she looked up and stuttered, "Haruna-sensei, don't tell my parents about this...onegai...I-I-I promise not to sleep in your class and...and I'll study...yeah that's it! I'll study harder! I promise" "I dunno about that...this is very serious thing you know" "Onegai?" "Okay. But just this once. But the next time..." Ms. Haruna warned as she started to walk away from Usagi's seat . Usagi gulped and quckly nodded. 'At least one of my problems is solved!' Usagi thought.


'I must get rid of this dreaded paper before Okaa-san and Otou-san finds out about this' Usagi thought after her detention that day, she was slowly walking down the street on her way home, thinking about the crumpled test paper in her hand. "Stupid math test!" she mumbled to herself and immediately tossed the paper behind her. Not a second later, she heared somebody say "Oof". That caught her attention and looked behind her back. She saw tall dark-haired man, probably a college guy, wearing sunglasses. "Hey watch it! I'm not a human trash can ya know!" the guy paused for a while and picked up Usagi's crumpled test paper. "Hmmmmmm....what's this??" the man said, removing his sunglasses to reveal his mysterious dark blue eyes. He examined the Usagi's paper and said, "Tsk, tsk, tsk, a THIRTY!!". "Give that back!!" Usagi spatted, trying to get the paper. "Why should I? I know you're trying to get rid of this anyway!" the man said, jerking his hand away so Usagi couldn't reach it. "Hey, it's none of your business BAKA!! Now give that back!" Usagi yelled. The man looked at his watch and said, "Awwwww....look at the time! Gotta go! Ja ne Odango Atama!". "WHAT??!!" Usagi said as she clenched her fists. "I think I'm going to keep this paper to remember you by. Ja!" the man added and started to put the paper in his pocket and walked away. "BAKA!!!" Usagi yelled behind him.
 

The next afternoon, Usagi went to the Crown Arcade to play some Sailor V games and meet her friends Ami, Rei, Makoto and Minako. Once she entered the arcade doors, she looked for a sandy-haired man so that she could chat with him about what happened the previous day. She saw her friend Motoki wiping the counter while talking to a dark-haired customer. To get Motoki's attention, she approached the counterand said, "Hi Toki-chan!" "Well, hello there Usagi-chan. I didn't notice you coming." Motoki said. "By the way Usagi-chan, I would like you to meet the man I've been talking to you about...my bestfriend, Chiba Mamoru." Motoki motioned to the guy seated in front of the counter. Then Usagi took the seat next to Mamoru's while Motoki fixed some orders. "So I finally meet the man that Toki-chan was babbling about. By the way, I'm Tsukino Usagi" Usagi greeted cheerfully and extended her hand. "But you know I think I like the name Odango better" Mamoru said, facing Usagi. Usagi quickly jerked her hand away and gritted her teeth. 'I was HIM!!' Usagi thought to herself. Then Motoki came back to the scene and said, "Well, so it looks like you've met each other". "Yeah. I met that BAKA yesterday on my way home" Usagi answered. Motoki gave Mamoru a strange look. And it was Mamoru's turn to talk, "Odango hit me a 30% test paper as if I was a human trash can" he paused then added, "And besides, the name Odango Atama suits her. Just look at her hairstyle!". "I've got a name you BAKA! Do I have to spell it for you? U-S-A-G-I!" she said. "O-D-A-N-G-O! Ha! Got that right!" he mocked and started to walk away.


Jealousy.

After that incident, a raven-haired girl and about Usagi's age went towards her. "Hey Usagi-chan!" she greeted. "Oh hi Rei-chan! I didn't notice you're here. You probably saw what happened between me and that baka!" Usagi said, making a disgusted face. "So you know him?!? What's his name? How old is he? Does he have a girlfriend?" Rei asked. "Sheesh Rei-chan, I just met him yesterday. But I know his name. Toki-chan said his name is Chiba Mamoru" Usagi said. "Wow! I should ask Motoki-kun about him! Maybe he'll give me all the details!" Rei said, with a hint of excitement in her voice. Rei went to Motoki and chatted with him to get something out about Mamoru. Usagi went to the tabe where the rest of her friends are seated. "Hey guys!" Usagi greeted her friends as she seated right next to Ami, who was reading a Physics book. "What happened to Rei-chan?" Makoto asked. "Oh that. She wants to know almost every single detail about that baka." Usagi answered. "I swear I saw hearts in her eyes when she was asking something about him.", she added. "Ya know, he looks kinda cute." Minako said with a wink. "He's not cute! He's a jerk!" Usagi said, her cheeks showing a light pink color. "So tell us how you met him." Makoto said, she was getting interested. So Usagi told the rest of the girls the story...


When Usagi was finished talking to the other girls, Rei came back with a strange sparkle in her eyes. "What happened to you?" Minako asked Rei. "Nothing. Just got some information about Mamoru...and the good thing about it...he doesn't have a girlfriend! I'd better be going to get his attention! See ya guys!" Rei said and was gone in a flash. "What's with her?" Minako asked, but no one answered her question. The following days seemed to be different. Rei has been following Mamoru for several days. She discovered that Mamoru and Usagi are constantly bumping into each other and she also learned that they can't stand each other's company. 


A week after stalking Mamoru, Rei finally have a plan...and now, she is going to put it in to use. Because her friend Usagi was a klutz, she will be pretending to be like her...since Usagi's klutziness was the reason why Usagi and Mamoru bumped to each other. Rei's plan was when Mamoru is just two feet away from her, she will pretend to trip on the sidewalk so that Mamoru would catch her if he sees her and maybe ask her for a date or something like that. Perfect. No almost perfect. She'd done her plan right but Mamoru didn't notice her fall and he accidentally stepped on Rei's head. Rei groaned in pain. That's how Mamoru noticed her. "Gomen nasai I stepped on your head. I didn't notice you...gomen" Mamoru said, bowing his head. "Hmmm...lemme think. I'll forgive you if...you ask me for a date!" Rei exclaimed. 'Uh oh' Mamoru thought and answered "Okay, it's a deal. So do you forgive me?" "Forgive you? YES! So when's the big date?" Rei asked and Mamoru sweatdropped.


A week has passed after Mamoru and Rei's date. And it has been a week since Rei started babbling about Mamoru being a great guy. And Usagi...well, was getting sick of it all. Did I mention that Rei told the girls including Usagi that Mamoru is her boyfriend?


Usagi walked down the street after a dreaded day in school. Rei called her during her lunch break in her cellphone telling her that she should come to the temple after class for a study session. Usagi didn't mind coming to the temple, she knew that it will all end up with Rei babbling about Mamoru. Heck, Usagi even turned off her cellphone for that! She was still in deep thought when she bumped into something. Hard. She didn't even mind looking up. She apologized, "Gomen ne. I wasn't looking-" "Well, well, nice bumping in to you Odango!" a familiar voice cut her short. "Get a life!" Usagi simply said and walked away. "What's with her?" Mamoru asked to no one.


Usagi came home earlier than usual. Her mother Ikuko, was surprised to see her daughter early. Suddenly the phone rang. "Moshi moshi, Tsukino residence" Ikuko greeted. "Hai. This is Rei, Usagi-chan's friend. Is she home?" the voice in the other line said. "She came home a little while ago. I'll go check her upstairs." Ikuko said. "Okay." Rei replied. "Usagi-chan! There's someone on the phone for you! It's your friend, Rei." Ikuko shouted so that it could reach her daughter's room. "Got it Okaa-san!" came Usagi's reply after picking her phone. "Moshi moshi, oh Rei-chan wassup?" Usagi asked. "Nothing big. Hey Odango, I tried to call you several times on your cellphone this afternoon, but the operator will just say 'all lines are busy now' or 'the subscriber cannot be reached' " Rei replied. "Oh that. I think my batteries had drained out. And please, don't call me Odango, you're sounding like Mamoru." Usagi explained. "Oh let's just forget about that crap. Let me tell you what you have missed in this afternoon's gossip." Rei said with a hint of excitement in her voice. Usagi knew what will Rei would tell her about. Mamoru. Usagi was tired of hearing the same thing over and over again...like 'Mamoru is like this...Mamoru is like that...Isn't Mamoru great?'. But why everytime Rei talks about the romantic side of Mamoru, Usagi suddenly feels uncomfortable. 'I'm not jealous aren't I?' Usagi questioned herself.
