Concluded Queen Gaia. The ballroom was filled with subjects, dignitaries and ambassadors from around the earth. Each was pre-paring for the arrival of the moon Queen. Serenity lingered at the doorway, watching the prince and his generals, dressed in their armor and finery. Looking down at her own breeches and shirt she sighed. Somehow she didn't think the Senshi would appreciate them. Serenity took one last look at the generals and strode determinedly out the door and into her chambers. Opening her cupboard, she stared critically at the array of multi-colored dresses before choosing a simple white one trimmed in blue. Her maid nearly had a heart attack when Serenity came out with the dress. "Certainly, Lady!" said the stunned maid, as Serenity changed out of her breeches. Smiling wickedly, the maid came back in carrying a corset. Helping Serenity into it, she pulled the strings. Tight. Sucking in her stomach and gasping for breath, Serenity grabbed onto a chair. "Women actually put these things on everyday? No wonder I prefer loose shirts and breeches!" It took them the best part of half and hour to tie the corset to the maids standards. Slipping into the dress only took a couple of seconds, and Serenity was amazed at the transformation a dress could do. "There, my lady." Said the maid, arranging Serenity's hair atop her head. "You look lovely." Taking one last look at the lady in he mirror, the newly transformed Lady Serenity grinned mischievously. The generals were going to be in for a surprise. Sweeping out of the room with as much grace as she could muster, Serenity headed towards the drawing room, where she was supposed to have a meeting with Queen Gaia, Prince Endymion, and the four Generals. Serenity took a deep breath, or as much of a breath as she could in the corset, and opened the door into the drawing room. Upon her entrance, all five men stood. Jedietes jaw dropped. "Se-" Serenity put a finger to her lips to silence him. Smiling in understanding, Jediete offered her his arm. "Allow me, my lady." He said, grinning stupidly. Looking at the faces around her, Serenity allowed herself a small smile of triumph. That is, until she came to Endymion. His jaw was slack, and his deep blue eyes had fixed her with a piercing stare. He was practically undressing her with his eyes, raking them up and down her body. Blushing slightly, Serenity sat down demurely. "It's considered impolite to stare, my prince." She remarked cuttingly. "Serenity?" he said in amazement, as if her had never seen a woman in a dress in his life. "What? Who were you expecting?" she said crossly. "You're wearing a dress!" Serenity rolled her eyes. Men were such children. "Obviously." She said. Nephrite burst into gales of hysterical laughter. Kunzite just smirked. Zoicite had regained his composure earlier, and was now staring strangely at Endymion, who was still staring at Serenity. Folding her arms defensively, Serenity glared crossly at the floor, cursing the thought that made her want to wear a dress in the first place. At that moment, Queen Gaia entered the chamber. Everyone stood. Nodding to each of them, Gaia then seated herself next to Endymion. "You look lovely Serenity." She commented. "I'm glad you took my advice. White is definitely your colour." Blushing in pleasure, Serenity just smiled smugly at the four generals, but she didn't trust herself to look at Endymion. "Now, the reason I've called you is that I've received word from the moon. They're arriving this afternoon." * * * When Serenity had entered the room wearing a dress for what seemed to be the first time in her life, all rational and coherent thought had vanished from his mind. Endymion had supposed that after a lifetime of seeing her in shirts and breeches, his body had simply gone into shock. But that still didn't explain the queasy feeling in his stomach. "Endy," hissed Zoicite. "We have to go now!" Jerking himself out of his thoughts, Endymion turned to his comrades. "The senshi have just arrived. Where's Sere?" asked Jediete. "What?" asked a voice from the back of the room. A disgruntled looking Serenity, bow and arrow in hand, wearing dirty breeches and shirt with knee length boots stood at the doorway. Sighing, Endymion reached for her hand. "I'll guess you'll just have to do." And began pulling her into the adjoining chamber. Serenity began to complain loudly at her rough treatment, until she realized the company they were in. "Queen Serenity, Princess Mina, Princess Amy, Princess Lita and Princess Raye, may I present my son, the Crown Prince Endymion and his four generals, Jediete, Kunzite, Zoicite and Nephrite. And this is my adopted daughter Serenity." Said Queen Gaia, smiling motherly at Serenity, as she put down her bow and arrow and plucked a piece of straw from he silvery hair. "A pleasure." Purred Queen Serenity. The rest of the meeting consisted of plans to recover the missing princess and talk of various home planets. Serenity fiddled absently with her hands in her lap. Thoroughly embarrassed at being introduced to the Moon Queen in her hunting clothes, Serenity felt extremely out of place. Stealing a glance at the four princesses, she couldn't help but notice how uncomfortable they looked too. "Thank you Queen Serenity. Serenity, will you please show the Senshi to their quarters?" asked Queen Gaia. "Yes, of course, your majesty. Queen Serenity" Serenity bowed. "If you will please follow me-" Serenity was unsure of how to address the Senshi. "Just call us by our names." Said the blond girl, smiling brightly. "Mina, princess of Venus, planet of 'lurve'!" she flashed Serenity a 'V' for victory sign as they trooped down the corridor. "I have to get out of this dress!" complained the raven haired princess, tugging irritably on the fabric of her red gown. "I'm certainly glad to see that not everyone is wearing them." She said, looking pointedly at Serenity's breeches. "My names Raye, Princess of Mars." Serenity's face split into a relieved grin. "Oh! I was so worried! Dresses are so uncomfortable, I much prefer breeches and shirts. I wore a dress for the first time this morning and-" she proceeded to relate this morning's incident. "You should have seen their faces!" Serenity giggled nervously, but laughed with ease when the other girls joined in. "The generals are hot!" exclaimed Mina. "How can you be around them for so long and not-" "Mina!" said the blue haired girl sharply. Turning to Serenity she smiled. "I'm Amy, Princess of Mercury." "Hi." Smiled Serenity. "Ohno!" cried Mina. "What are we going to wear to our ball tomorrow night?" The brunette rolled her eyes. "You'll have to excuse Mina. She has a one track mind. Guys and clothes. By the way, my names Lita, Princess of Jupiter." "Oh no!" excalimed Serenity, in almost the same tone as Mina. "What *am* I going to wear to the ball? I can't wear what Endy picked out? I don't have a-" "Hang on." Interrupted Mina. "Rewind a bit. Who is 'Endy'? And why did he pick out your dress?" "Prince Endymion." Said Serenity absently. "He and the four generals barged into my rooms this morning while a maid was trying to get me into a dress. He is so arrogant! He just waltzed in there picked out the dress, and then proceeded to tell me that you guys were coming." She paused. "I kind of slapped him. A couple of times." She admitted finally. "You go girl!" cheered Lita. "We were afraid that when we came here we would have to wear those uncomfortable dresses." She made a face. "Not that we would have anyway." "Speak for yourself." Said Mina with t a toss of her hair. "Now, lets go and investigate this dress that 'Endy' picked out." "You slapped the prince?" asked Amy, obviously still shocked. "Please," said Serenity, rolling her eyes. "He may *be* a prince, but he is a rude and arrogant man." The five giggling girls made their way towards Serenity's room. So engrossed in her conversation, Serenity didn't realize the blockage in the hallway until it was too late. *Slam!* "Watch where you're going, you klutz!" said an annoyed Endymion. But however annoyed his face looked, his smiling eyes were a dead giveaway of how sincere the insult was. "Excuse me!" shot back Serenity, drawing herself up to her full height, but still only reaching to Endymion's shoulders. "This is the ladies quarters! And I only see four men and an old woman in front of me. Please clear off!" Quietly seething, Endymion peered down at the girl. "Well, if this is the ladies quarters, then I guess 'us men' will have to leave." And with that, he picked her up and began to carry her off. Banging her fists on his back, Serenity's voice could be heard all throughout the hallway. "Let me go Endy! This is not funny, you jerk!" The senshi and the generals rushed around the corner to watch the commotion. The Senshi looked shocked, but as for the generals, this was normal. "Does this happen a lot?" asked Raye, still looking after Endymion and Serenity. "All the time." Said Jediete, sighing. Sighing heavily, Serenity stopped her thrashing. "I'm sorry Endy," and with that she kneed him in the groin, and jumped smoothly off his back. "You brought it all upon yourself, your highness." She said mockingly, dusting her hands off. Endymion looked up at the smiling girl and felt all the rage he had ready to take out on her subside. Instead, he grinned wickedly and stood up next to her. Serenity faltered. Something she had learned after eighteen years of living with Crown Prince Endymion, was to beware when he smiled for no apparent reason. She narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "What?" she asked as he moved closer to her. "You have just successfully embarrassed me for the third time today." He stated, placing his arms around her small waist. "Yes, I know." She said smugly, ignoring the butterflies that had appeared in her stomach. "It's tome for a little payback, Sere." He whispered, and then proceeded to crush his lips against her own. Instinctively, Serenity tried to push herself away, but to no avail. Endymion had strategically placed his arms so that she could not push away, but after a few moments, Serenity found herself melting anyway. The kiss had been intended to be punishing and embarrassing, harsh and cruel, but as soon as Endymion's lips had touched hers, the plans had changed of their own accord. Drawing her closer, Endymion just lost himself in the kiss, forgetting about the company, the place or his position. Serenity and Endymion had left the senshi and the generals shell shocked. Gaping at their friends locked in a seemingly passionate kiss, the onlookers were at a loss for words. Jediete was the first to regain his composure. "I guess they don't really hate each other." * * * The reality that she was kissing Endymion, the man she loved to hate, hit Serenity like a tonne of bricks. Tearing herself from him, she backed away. "There." She said, lips slightly swollen. "We're even. I think you have successfully embarrassed me." "Sere-" he started, hand outstretched. Serenity drew herself up. "If you'll excuse me." She said, and without waiting for an answer, she walked briskly into her chambers. She was about to throw herself onto her bed, but found to her surprise, there was already someone sitting on it. "Huh?" <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> @}--->-----
