So you can't sue me muahahahahahaha!.....sorry...ALRIGHT, ENJOY!!!!! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Chapter One- "Into the Gate." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Chiba Mamoru sat at his desk, studiously studying for his medical exam. His wire rimmed glasses began to fall down his nose, and he groggily pushed them back up. Due to the fact that he hadn't slept for two days, his vision suddenly began to blur. He yanked off his glasses and cast them aside, then gently massaged the bridge of his nose. *Why did I want to become a doctor again?* He thought tiredly, as a yawn escaped his pale lips. *There is no use in this if I'm too tired to remember the context.* Slowly he pushed back his chair and stood up, wavering slightly. With heavy steps full of tremendous effort he plopped his 6'3'' body onto his bed, and instantly fell asleep. In the dreams of our young hero, he is in a deep valley surrounded by high mountains painted gold, purple, and pink by the setting sun. Everywhere around him high trees gave him a luscious shade. He watched as a deer sprinted before him, and a multitude of fiery red birds flew above him. They trailed a tail made of fire behind them and did loops throughout the darkening sky. Soon, the forest became dark and the sounds of night filled his ears. Brilliant things like fire flies danced through the air, leaving a trail of silvery dust behind them. Suddenly, a sound overcame all the sounds of the night. The sweet, bell like melody reached his ears, and he fell into its spell. His feet moved against his will, and soon he found himself staring out across a lake with a mystic waterfall. His majestic blue eyes filled with surprise, as he saw the source of the beautiful music. It was a woman, dressed in a small white tunic that was trimmed in silver. A silver belt was clasped around her small waist with a crescent moon in the middle. Silver string boots adorned her feet, and wrapped around her legs to stopped at her knees. Her long white hair came down from two buns at the top of her head and glowed with its own natural brightness. She was staring up at the two moons and they shone upon her face. It was flawless, with a slight upturned nose. Her pale, rose colored lips were parted and her eyes were covered by shadows. Suddenly she bowed her head and a crystal tear escaped her closed eyes. She covered her face with her hands, and a sob racked her body. Mamoru felt a sudden longing to comfort this mystical girl and began to wade through the water towards her. Her head snapped up and his breath was taken away. Bright blue orbs burned into his and he froze mid step. Upon her forehead rested a golden crescent moon, similar to the one on her belt. Her eyes were filled with surprise and fear as suddenly, 6 foot silver wings came protruding from her back and with one mighty flap she rose into the air and began to fly away. "Wait, come back!" Mamoru called after her, but she didn't stop and didn't look back. Something else caught his attention. A single, silver feather floated down from the heavens and he opened up his hand and caught it. He stared at it along time, before moving it between his fingers. The feather sparkled in the light from the moons. He looked back up to the sky, he would find that angel again, someday. He just knew it. Mamoru awoke to the early light of the morning. He yawned, and ran his hand through his entangled ebony hair. Lazily he crawled out of bed and into the bathroom. He let the hot water roll off his body as he just stood there with his eyes closed. He had that dream again, of the mystical angel. This was the beginning of the 3rd week since he'd been having this reoccurring dream. He had considered going to a shrink, but immediately voted it down. He was not crazy, he was just eating something wrong...or something. 10 minutes later he emerged from the shower refreshed. He dried himself off and started to do his hair, a task he took quite seriously. 15 minutes later, Chiba Mamoru came our of his bathroom, wearing a black, long sleeve turtle neck shirt and carpenter jeans. His hair was neatly combed through although a stubborn piece kept falling into his eyes playfully. He walked into his small kitchen, and poured himself a steaming cup of coffee, and grabbed a box of Lucky Charms. Mamoru stops pouring his cereal and shrugs at the audience. "What?" After his nutritious breakfast, Mamoru grabbed his books and that charming green jacket we all love and preceded to go to college, ready to start his normal day. Or so he thought. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "Hey Mamoru, over here!" Mamoru turned around to see his friend Mokoti approaching him. Mokoti's wavy bleach blonde hair swayed as he ran over to his friend, his light green eyes filled with friendship. "What's up buddy?" "Nothing much, just got finished with taking my medical exam. I've been cramming for the last week, day and night straight." Mamoru replied, covering a yawn with his hand. "Well, how do you think you did?" Mokoti asked, as they started walking off campus. "I think I did okay. I just hope I didn't get lower than a B. If I did, then I won't get excepted to Harvard in the U.S." Mamoru answered. "What are you up to?" "Well since Mr. Brain is done with his exams for this semester, your humble, lowly B average friends thought that maybe we could celebrate tonight. What ya think?" Mokoti proposed, stopping infront of Mamoru. "Well, I do suppose I could use a break." Mamoru agreed. "Great, meet me, Jason and Matt at The Castle on Temple Hill at 7. There's going to be a huge party there tonight, see ya there man!" Motoki informed, and scurried off somewhere. Mamoru usually despised social events, but he really did need a break from school. *Maybe I'll meet a girl there.* Mamoru stopped dead in his tracks and reprimanded himself for thinking that. *Sure, I could get a girl tonight. But they're all lame chicks who want nothing more than a one night stand.* Darien thought, as he hopped on his Triumph Trident motorcycle and sped down the street. *Besides, you keep looking for that angel in your dreams. Though I doubt I'll ever find her. She is after all, just a dream.* ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Three hours later Mamoru stood outside the Temple Hill Mansion, more fondly called The Castle by the college kids. Mamoru met up with the few friends he had and entered the main doors. The first room was actually a large courtyard, with a huge pool in the middle. A statue of a rearing pegasus stood in the middle and spouted water out of its mouth. Two descending steps on either side of the pool were the only way to get to the patio on the other side, other than swimming across. On the patio the dance floor had been set up and a disco ball shined like broken glass against the walls. Mamoru carefully walked down the steps, trying to avoid the people sitting on them. "Hey, is this cool or what?" Jason yelled as he ran onto the dance floor and disappeared into the crowd. Two blondes walked passed Mamoru, looking at him with that...look. "Hey." The one said, and Mamoru just nodded and turned to Mokoti. "I'm going to go find the bathroom." Mamoru said. "What?" Motoki screamed, as he bounced to the music. "I said, I'm going to go find the bathroom!" Mamoru said a little louder. "What!?" "I said--Oh, nevermind." Mamoru rolled his eyes and walked off into a hallway. The Castle was a huge place that had once belonged to some Monks. Even though many parties have gone through here, they managed to keep the place mostly intact. Mamoru walked down hallway after hallway, getting more lost with every turn. "Follow me...." Mamoru looked up to see a speck of golden light turn the corner infront of him. Slowly, he walked to the end of the corridor, to see the golden light making a right down another hall. "Great, it has to be a haunted mansion too." He muttered as he followed the light down more hallways until he came upon a huge set of doors. They were golden and shined brightly in the dim light, and etched on them were two rearing pegasuses, each pointing their horns to heaven. Something was written on the door in a language Mamoru didn't know. Curiosity got the better of him though and he reached out and much to his surprise, effortlessly pulled the doors wide open. Mamoru entered, and they shut quietly behind him. "Mamoru?" Around the corner Motoki appeared and stared at the doors. "What the heck?" But when he tried to open them, they wouldn't budge. After a few seconds Motoki gave up and walked back up the hall. "MAMORU!" Inside the room, Mamoru stared at his surroundings. The room was completely white, three small pillars held up the ceiling on either side and in the center of the room a small platform rose above the floor. Mamoru walked cautiously to the platform and saw that there were two other rearing pegasuses, and they held up a mirror edged in golden vines. He stared at his reflection and cleaned something out of his teeth. Suddenly a ripple went through the mirror, distorting his image. "What the..." He reached out his hand to touch the mirror and gasped as it went through. He pulled back his hand quickly, and grasped it with his other making sure nothing was wrong. Unannounced to him, the pegaguses' eyes began to glow gold, and they turned their heads down to look at him, flapping their wings gently. Behind him, mist began to form and it swirled around the room, getting thicker and thicker with each passing moment. Mamoru slowly stuck his hands into the mirror again, and slowly pulled them out. "Well, this is definitely not normal." Mamoru murmured, repeating the action again. "Well, here goes nothing." Mamoru stepped back and with one fluid movement, jumped into the mirror. Its surface rippled a few more times, before the pegasuses' heads turned back and the mist dissipated. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* DUN DUN DUN.
