About George
Orwell:
   George Orwell was born in India in 1903. His real name is Eric Blair. He was raised in an English family. His father worked in the Opium trade. George attended a prestigous school called Eton. From there he was supposed to attend a good college but intstead he joined the Indian Police Service. Afterserving as a police officer George traveled around Britain and France living as if he were poor, and writing book reviews. After this he began writing and started to teach in private schools around Britain.In 1931 George went to fight in the Spanish Civil War. After fighing in the war he began writing as a socialist. In World War II Orwell worked for the BBC station for India and South East Asia, and was also a manager of a book store. During this time he was publishing a lot of jouranlism which mainly dealt with politics. This is also when he started to write 1984. George published other books following 1984, and then died in 1949 from his lungs collapsing.
