| Misi�n En esta p�gina queremos mostrar a j�venes de la VIII Regi�n de Chile, Concepci�n, y j�venes del Noroeste de U.S.A. participando en programas de educaci�n ambiental, explorando y descubriendo las maravillas de la naturaleza, la belleza de sus paisajes y tambi�n colaborando para conseguir los objetivos que se han propuesto. Esta p�gina espera servir como Punto de Encuentro para j�venes que se encuentran tan alejados f�sicamente; pero cerca en cuanto a sus intereses y esperanzas de vida. |
| Upward Bound Math/Science El programa Upward Bound Math/Science de la Universidad de Alaska Fairbanks cada verano congrega a j�venes que tienen la posibilidad de trabajar con cient�ficos de la universidad, celebrar las diferentes culturas, aprender las costumbres de grupos �tnicos de Alaska y recorrer las grandes extensiones de la "ULTIMA FRONTERA". |
| Dos Gotas de Agua El proyecto "Dos Gotas de Agua: un Universo por Descubrir" del programa EXPLORA-CONICYT, tambi�n reune en Concepci�n a j�venes que quieren conocer m�s de la naturaleza y el medio acu�tico que les rodea y que se presenta en tan variadas formas en la regi�n. Trabajando con cient�ficos en la Laguna Grande de San Pedro de La Paz y Caleta Lenga en Bah�a San Vicente, han viajado al mundo microsc�pico de las bacterias para conocer por qu� son tan importantes en los ciclos de la vida. Tambi�n est�n aprendiendo a realizar mediciones en el lago para monitorear la calidad del agua. |

| The Upward Bound Math/Science summer program is aimed at helping students strengthen existing skills as well as challenging them with advanced work. Where possible, simulated conditions reflecting the college experience are utilized in the academic setting. Students have the opportunity to work with science researchers in their field of specialization thus gaining an understanding of what scientists do and see how math and language arts are an integral part of all scientific endeavor. |
| Mision On this page you will meet young people from the Region of Concepcion in Chile and also from the Pacific Northwest in the U.S.A. participating in environmental education programs, exploring and discovering the wonders of nature, the beauty of their own landscape and collaborating to achieve their own goals. These pages hope to be a Cultural Crossroad for young people physically far away from each other; but close in their interests and dreams in life. |
