THE ANCIENT HOUSE OF PERCY
This site has been designed to give those who are interested in the history of this great Anglo/French family, a contemporary perspective on the life, times and progress of THE ANCIENT PERCY FAMILY whose origins (for the intents and purposes of the information provided here), can be directly traced from a region in West Normandy, France known as the Cotentin or Cherbourg Penninsular. What happened historically before this has been the subject of some amount of conjecture, as past historians, geneaologists and others have espoused the written theory that the Percies originally came to Normandy from Scandinavia before or about the time that Rollo led the viking raids that began his invasion of the region. This romantic notion though is now thought to have been highly unlikely and as you will read further you will see why there is good reason to believe otherwise.
The information herein has been gathered from the study and personal resources of the author, and is altogether the result of many years of careful research.
A great deal of information, photographs and links has been added to this site since its inception including access to a comprehensive genealogy chart. It will be worthwhile for those interested to check back from time to time for updates.
