Iguana Iguana is a large, diurnal lizard. It is among the largest of the New World saurians, whit some males reaching lenghts of 6 feets, more than half of wich is tail (females usually max out a little more than 4 feet). The tail wich can be used by this species in a whiplike fashion for self defense, carries distinct darks bands. there is also a characteristic dark marking to the shoulder area of most specimens. All green iguanas have an enlarged scale beneath their tympanums and prominent nuchal, vertebral and caudal crests.
Green Iguanas range from Mexico to southern Brazil and Paraguay.
