Introduction
Welcome to Callowmass, a city of wonders, a city of vagabonds. A city built on the ruins of a thousand prior civilisations. A city where everything seems possible, but nothing is as it seems.
Beyond the outer walls of the lower rim of the city-on-the-hill is a vast and strange world. Mostly hills and woodland, stretching away to marshlands in the south where strange things dwell, things that gibber in the night.
The city of Callowmass is self contained, fed by wells and the river Babdubrin, which has its source in the fifth tier of the city, by the lush orchards which crown the hilltop, and by what meats hunters can bring back from the surrounding woodlands. For the adventurous or the desperate, there are also those strange foodstuffs brought to the city by the Otherlings, and by magicians who roam to distant lands.
Although a gentleman of means could live a hundred lifetimes without ever leaving Callowmass, there are those who are drawn to the lands beyond by the lure of riches and adventure. The players are just such folk, setting out into the worlds beyond for the first time.
Character Generation
Character generation is nice and straightforward. First off, you come up with a name and a character concept, taking into account the style of the game. Then spend 15 points on Skills, then record your starting Hits, Cash and Luck. A quick shopping trip and you're done.
