According to MythBusters you get about the same mileage with a hard cover as you do with the tailgate up, or the tailgate removed. The only way to get better mileage is to replace the tailgate with a net style gate.

I got sick of having the Peragon cover taking up space in my garage so I managed to give it away - free - to one of the guys at work.

Woo Hoo! I win. The credit card company found in my favor so I did not have to pay for the misrepresented merchandise that Peragon sent to me.

Well it’s been five months since I sent a letter of complaint to my credit card company and so far - I have not been charged for the Peragon Cover. Either the process is very long, or the credit card company decided I was right and Peragon was wrong.
