Friendship festival!
Saffron City: Party Hall(#3017Rt)
A large hall, all decorated for tonight's party. Bright banners and balloons add festive color to the place. Along one wall are tables with all sorts of snacks and drinks, and against the back the games of chance are set up, including the lit up Wheel of Fortune. A dance floor has been set up, and nearby a DJ keeps the music flowing. There are lots of people here, but the place isn't so packed that it's hard to move.

Jane has arrived.
Noel enters the party hall from the street. Wow this is a lot of people. He wanders around the room for a bit seeing if he recognizes any faces. In his search, he spots the refreshment table and heads over that way. He spots a lot of kids here...is there a bar?
Here it is! The yearly Friendship Day is finally upon us, and apparently, everybody knows about it. Though the festival has just started, already, many people have already filtered into the party hall, most of them with friends (of course). Most of the little booths in the area are all set up - they're selling candy, magazines, flowers... no, no, wait, the woman at the flower booth is still setting up.
Karin is near the door. She, herself, seems friendless, but she greets everyone that comes in with a warm smile and an even warmer nod. The girl's even changed clothes for the occasion, sporting a bright red miniskirt and light pink blouse. Red ribbons top her braided hair. "Welcome!" she greets everyone, as if each one was her personal good friend. Once she heard about this, she *knew* she had to help out.
Scarlett arrives, looking around at all the booths with a sigh. She wishes she'd thought to register space, she could have sold a ton of her figurines! Ah well, today is a day of giving and she shouldn't be so business minded today. Then again when isn't she thinking about selling? While she does know a few people here they all seem to have brought friends of their own! Suddenly something clicks and she gets a brilliant idea, be everyone's friend! Patting her pocket filled with her wooden Pokemon figurines she decides to find people to give gifts to. Jane walks into the hall finally, still followed, thankfully, only by her Mime. She takes a look around, and whistles. "Well goooooolly, ain't they's got this place all purdied rawht up. Must gonna be one doozy of a party."
Minshi walks in alone, or rather almost alone. A growlithe follows him closely, but as for human companions, none. He is wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. The latter has a hood which is pulls up over his head and face, along with a cap hiding his face. He sighs and looks around, then glances to Karin as she greets him. "Huh? Oh yes hello."
Citine sighs and enters the party hall, oddly alone on such a day and in his casual clothes, but actually, on his shoulder are two Rattata, an adult male and a young female. He heads in and looks around, searching for anyone he might recognize. Seeing no one, he wanders towards the refreshment table. He idly leans against the wall and pats one of the Rattata sitting on his shoulder. He gives a slight wave to Karin as she greets, "Hey there."
By herself, unless you count the Pikachu in her arms, Mikomi enters the hall. A lengthy stare is given the room from one end to the other with the girl's azure eyes; never having celebrated Friendship Day before, she hardly knew what to expect, but this really hadn't been it. Quickly, she turns and looks over her shoulder to see if at least the two she walked in nearby had vanished or if they remained in sight; Noel she can't seem to find, and Jett.. well, where did Jett go? With a soft sigh and a weak smile, the girl greets Karin with a meek, ".. Hi." as she passes on through and deeper inside the hall.
Mike arrives from the street.
Mike has arrived.
Into the building walks a pale-haired little boy, a Machop and a Drowzee at his side, who glare at him like guards would a convict; glares which the boy returns quite readily, enabling him to ignore Karin's greeting as he passes by her. In fact, he doesn't really 'walk'. It's more like a skulk, or a slink. It's as if any moment the boy expects something to come out and attack him - he certainly glares around at the banners, dance floor, and decorations accusingly, his angered glare dissapating at times to a nervous one. His shoulders are hunched, as if he's trying to go unnoticed. The Machop and Drowzee at his side, however, begin to ignore their charge and check out the area around them with intense excitement from the Machop and an cool, amused look from the Drowzee. Wesley Brier has made his entrance, folks.
Opening the doors to the party hall, Jett and his Pokemon brighten up as they see the party games and hear the music playing. "This is it, all right!" he confirms to his Pokemon, who are Steve the Squirtle in his arms, and Nibbles the Weedle on his shoulder."Oh, hello!" he cheerfully replies to Karin, even though he's never met her before. "Let's go check it out, huh?" "Squirtle!" "Weeedle!" is the replies he gets. "Okay, what should we do?" he asks, glancing around the now-full large hall.
A couple of the other crowd members have their Pokemon out, but for the most part, there are only humans enjoying the festival. "There!" The flower seller smiles warmly as she puts the finishing touches on her own booth. "Hope this all goes well!" The woman says, cheerfully patting the Oddish at her side. The little plant just smiles.
Hey, who is that that just came in? Scarlett knows him! She wastes no time in approaching Citine with a huge grin, after all they've faced each other enough times. "Hey!" Scarlett beams "Nice to see you again!". The redhaired woman fishes around in her pocket for that Ratatta figurine she made yesterday, they're a very popular selection so she usually has at least one in stock. Hmm, seems like alot of people brought out their Pokemon. Scarlett opts not to let any of hers out, let them rest for a bit.
Even Karin's Nidoran aren't out this time. Karin makes an extra-special effort to make Wesley feel wanted, as she says, "Don't be shy!" with a wink. Scarlett, her first customer, also gets a wave. She then welcomes more people as they keep entering. "Hi! Welcome! You two are the cuuutest!" One thing is for certain: the braided girl isn't shy.
Jane gets out of the way of the doors. Getting too crowded. "Com'n Sideshow, let's find s'meplace ta keep outta th' way an..." She spots the refreshment tables. "Whooo doggy! They's even servin' vittles. Now THIS issa shindig!" 'Rocket Feeding Frenzy'(tm) kicks in as the posing-as-a-trainer outlaw bolts for the tables and starts to stuff her face. Sideshow just plants his face in one of his very broad Mime palms. "Miiime.." <Oye vey...>
The door opens again, and Mike wanders in, pausing a moment to peer around the room curiously. "Whoa..!" <This place is loud! And it's too crowded! What're we doing here?> A small bulbasaur with a raggy bulb trots in close behind her, complaining about the crowds. "Don't worry, Iggy. You'll have fun!" The trainer steps aside, letting others get past her, and looks around at everyone, wondering if anyone she knows is here.
Scarlett has disconnected.
Minshi sighs and glances around again, before making his way away from the general crowds. He glances at the dance floor with a small sigh. "I wish..." He says sadly, before finding the loneliest place he can to sits down. After he sits down, the growlithe lays beside him.
Noel returns from the refreshment table with a plate full of food. He wanders around some more and looks at the various booths, though not purchasing anything. He smiles at a few people as they pass, letting his gaze linger a bit longer if they are older AND female. He stuffs a cucumber slice in his mouth, getting a bit of dip on his nose.
Citine ends leaning on the wall and heads towards a booth, looking around mainly. With a flick of his wrist, he unclips a pokeball and releases his favorite pokemon, a Squirtle. Terry follows close behind his trainer and gives a wave to the other Squirtle he sees, <Hey.> The trainer sighs, "Hmph, we don't know anyone here...do we Ter?" The Squirtle shakes his head and continues to follow the trainer.
Dave arrives from the street.
Dave has arrived.
"I wish we could find some people we knew, Chuemoko," Mikomi intones offhandedly as she rocks forward on her tiptoes and gazes around the room, taking in all of the various sights, sounds and smells of Friendship Day. The Pikachu crawls up to her shoulder and stretches up tall, scouting with his dark and expressive eyes for someone familiar. Only then does he recognize Wesley.. leaping off Mikomi's shoulder to grapple onto the younger boy's with a cheerful and oh-so-cute, "Pika!" <Hey!>
Wesley ignores Karin's friendliness, in a beautiful display of almost teenager-like uncaring. Wow, this guy'll be a pro when he reaches those turbulent years. As it is, he hisses in annoyance at the noise, the general goodwill of everyone and the party atmosphere. However, he does feel there's something he needs to do, here...he scans the area, looking for a certain someone. <She here, hero?> comes Fistfight (the Machop's) query. "No. Good. We can leave." With that, the boy begins to turn away, only to be attacking Chuemoko! "Hey!" snaps Wesley, in a decidedly not nice way. "Getoff!" he growls, jerking his shoulder in a hope to throw the 'Chu off-balance. Fistfight quickly steps in to catch the Pikachu if it falls, while ThoughtThief (the Drowzee) just points and laughs.
Noticing Jane start stuffing down some of the (limited) free food, the man in the pastry-selling booth gulps. He hopes she doesn't start coming over to the food *selling* booths and begin... inhaling food... like that. Meanwhile, a little girl, perhaps no older than eight, has managed to mind Minshi, despite his lonely location. "Hello!" The sweetie grins broadly, waving her hand enthusiastically at Minshi, and more so, to his Growlithe. "Is this Pokemon the friend you brought?"
Jett takes a general look around the hall, wondering what to do first. He spots a lot of people he knows, but they all look like they're busy talking with one another, and he doesn't want to interupt anything. Not being with anyone else himself at the moment, besides the two Pokemon he's carrying, he finally spots Mike coming in and walks over to her, grinning and waving to get her attention. "Hey, Mike!" he calls over, trying to part through the crowd. "Over here!"
Trading wet suit and ragged hawaiian style clothes for a more formal black dress shirt and long black pants, Dave's appearance is extraordinarily altered. At his side is Wt, who also appears to be spiffed up somewhat as his shell is all sparkly. The two are even walking with a sort of strut to their steps, both wearing large smiles on their faces. It appears they like this holiday. The two enter the main doors to the party hall, having noticed the lights and sounds from way way off in the distance. Just having arrived, they haven't noticed anyone that they know, especially not with it being so crowded in here.
Minshi looks up at the girl and smiles, reaching to make sure his cap and hood is hiding his face before nodding. "I guess you could say that. Who did you come with?" He asks with a smile. The growlithe looks at the girl, and stands up moving forward to look at her.
Karin greets Dave. "Hello!" she says, bowing with a quick, sudden movement. She checks a wristwatch and idly wonders, "I wonder how many people need to find their friends here..." she looks over, seeing how things are progressing. She then looks over in the stagish-corner of the area, where she will be announcing the games and things. "Hmm," she hmms softly.
The Pikachu indeed goes off balance, grabbing onto Wesley's shirt with his paws and hanging there for dear life as he's flung about left and right, swinging like a toy on a fishing line above a Machop-like cat waiting to pounce. Finally, with a squeal, he loses his grip and goes falling back into the arms of the.. Drowzee? Perhaps Chuemoko should have released when he was swung left rather than right. Chances are, this one wouldn't catch him. Mikomi on the other hand, has spun around to try and chase after her Pikachu, only to recognize the younger boy. "Wesley?" she asks curiously, unaware of her Pokemon's plight with the quickly approaching ground.
Jane, thankfully, although having a large country appetite, isn't as much of a bottomless pit as certain other Rocket's may be. Thuslly, she soon gets her fill of snacks. For now. She licks her fingers, and pulls her bandana off her neck to wipe her face, and then stuffs it in her pocket. "Well, now whut ta do..." Sideshow pulls a clean hanky out of nowhere, and ties it around her neck to replace the one she just used.
"Hm?" Mike blinks, barely catching Jett's voice over the hub-bub. After a moment's searching, she finally spots his distinctive blue cap, and giggles. "Jett!" She grins, raising up on tip-toe and waving her hand above the heads of the crowd, then she begins to make her way through, muttering 'excuse mes' and 'pardons' as she goes. Iggy blinks, pulling his vine back from a potential pocket-grab, and begins to weave his way between people's feet, trying to get to his trainer. <Hey, Mike! Wait! Ack -- Watch it!>
Citines Squirtle turns around and begins to waddle towards Wt, <Hmm?> Terry turns around and calls to Citine, who follows the turtle pokemon. He looks around and spots Dave, "Hey, Dave! Hi again!" <Finally he met someone...> Fleetfoot (male adult Rattata) mutters before lying down on the shoulder to take a nap. The trainer gives a wave to the other trainer and smiles, "Nice holiday...huh?"
Noel spots Dave enter the party hall and heads over to talk with him before he disappears innto the crowd. He calls out. "Hey! It's Da Wave!" He takes note of his outfit. "Spiffy threads dude! Like, this is a casual affair." He chuckles at his comment.
ThoughtThief chuckles some more...before a Pikachu goes flying towards him. Just because he travels around with a fighting type doesn't mean he picked up any of her skills - besides, ThoughtThief is a bit of a meanie, anyways. The Drowzee moves aside purposefully and allows the Pikachu full access to the ground. Fistfight sighs and says <sorry about that!> to Chuemoko. It's not like she had anything to do with it, but, still, might as well be nice on this interesting day! Wesley doesn't share that sentiment, however. "What?!" he snaps, before realizing just who he's talking too and swallowing his general anger at the world. He still looks mad, but at least somewhat under control. "Hello," he says, cooly and crisply to Mikomi.
Most of the people stumble out of the way of the rude Bulbasaur's path, although some get bumped. Ow. Meanwhile, over with honey and Minshi... "Daddy!" The little girl replies to the boy, pointing to her father at the pastry selling booth. Looks like... that's who she came with. Right now, the man is fretting a bit, but as he realizes Jane's not bingin' on food anymore, he relaxes slightly. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the hall, a man in some very, *very* flashy clothes and a pearly white grin is... setting up some plastic chairs back-to-back. Huh. He doesn't expect the crowd to play musical chairs or anything, does he?
Dave smiles as Karin greets him and nods, slick black hair with newly frosted blond tips combed neatly in place with a small part. It seems Dave doesn't have to do much of the looking at all, the people are coming to him. "Hey Citine, righ', wha's up dude?" He makes a peace sign and shouts over the raucus, "Yeah, like, superbly bodacious fiesta m'man! I love this 'oliday!" Suddenly he hears his voice again. He feels like he's being tugged between everyone, "Ahh, Noel, like 'aven't seen ya' in a while. Yeah, they're schway aren't they?" He pulls loosely at his collars.
Minshi nods and smiles. "Its good you came with someone. So do you come to these parties often?" He asks, before frowning slightly at hearing Mike and Jett. "For me its my first time at a party this large."
Jett bumps into certain people on his way to see the trainer with the black cap on, "Mike!" he calls again, just as his Weedle loses balance and falls off his shoulder from a particually nasty bump. Jett yelps and catches his Weedle, putting him back on his shoulder. "Almost lost ya there, Nibbles." he chuckles, then parts through the crowd once again. Finally, it seems he's reached a gap in the crowd where he can see Mike fully, and runs over to her before he gets cut off again. "Hey!"
Karin smiles. Looks like it's almost time. The girl hops through the crowds, somehow breezing through them as if they weren't even there. When she finally hops up onto the stage area with the microphone, her skirt swishes as she stops. She taps the microphone, to see if everything is set up perfectly. Her eyes then scan the crowd again.
Jane wanders into the crowd now, to see if anyone she actually knows is around here. Or if there's any interesting pokemon to make note of for later. The head honchos back home will do bad things to her if she doesn't come back with -something- useful for once.
Citine shrugs, "It's been great, how's yore Grimer? Doin' 'kay?" The Squirtle hops out of peoples' ways and scrambles next to Citine to get out. The trainer turns around and then spots Noel, another person he knows, yay! "Hey there!" He looks around and throws a quizzical look towards the man setting up the chairs. Fleetfoot raises an eyebrow, not able to get much sleep in this noise, <Oh no....>
Mike continues nosing her way through, muttering apologies and whatnot as she goes, until she finally reaches Jett. "Jeez," she breathes, peering over her shoulder in the direction she came from, which seems to have crowded together once again. "C'mon. Let's head somewhere a little less crowded." The bulbasaur finally catches up with the trainer, panting heavily from the run, "Saur..." then he grunts in frustration as Mike moves off again. <Oy! Wait for me!>
"Daddy goes to lots of festivals." The youngun' replies to Minshi, looking at his Growlithe the whole while. "You get used to it after a while!" The man with the shiny teeth has finished whatever he was doing with the chairs, and looks at them with satisfaction. "Perfect." He says to himself, then permeates into the crowd... to go get some supplies. As Karin demands the crowd's attention, they give it straight to her - people in mid-purchase turn to face the girl, wondering what she'll say. The people minding the booths not busy with sales also give the teenager their full respect.
Dave looks at all the organized caos and his eyes sparkle. This is his habitat, this is what he prefers, to lay down and boogy! Catching something in the corner of his eye, he turns to see Karin getting ready to say something. Wt nods to the Squirtle but is on a general look out at the moment. Finally, seeing that there are too many pokemon for even him to count in here, he gives up and decides to enjoy himself as best he can. Wt's stare returns to Terry and asks, <How are you?> Dave nods to Citine and smiles giving the thumbs up sign as he doesn't want to be disrespectful once the microphone kicks in. He laughs a bit and thinks suddenly, snapping his fingers together. He reaches into his pokcet and pulls out...a cool pair of shades. Now the smooth, player, formal surfer look is fully operational.
Minshi nods, "Thats nice. Ah looks like something is going to be said." He smiles slightly, "I don't think he would bite you." He says, referring to his growlithe. Growlithe, finishing his inspection of the girl goes back and lays beside Minshi.
Thwump. Luckily, the Pikachu has enough padding in his rear to where the crash landing on the ground doesn't hurt anything more than his pride. He does glare up at the Drowzee in a purely unthrilled manner, crawling back to his feet and nodding receptively to the Machop's apology. Mikomi, on the other hand, is rather surprised by Wesley's .. uncharacteristic?.. reaction to her greeting. "Um," she begins, biting her lower lip, "Hi. Happy.. friendship day?" She's a bit stageshocked by his demeanor and it's thrown off the cheerfulness from her voice.
Citine smiles and turns to Karin and the stage, "Wonder what she's gonna say." He eyes Dave questioningly before giving his full attention to the announcer. <Fine, how 'bout ya?> Terry questions before also turning to the stage, as well as both the Rattata.
Jett stops in front of Mike, and nods to her, agreeing somewhat. "Yeah, it is getting a bit crowded around here, isn't it?" He follows her through the crowd again, making sure not to knock his Weedle off his shoulder again. He spots Iggy in front of him trailing after Mike, and grins, "Hey Iggy! I hope you don't cause any trouble today." he beams, still following Mike's lead.
Karin coughs lightly, and fixes the ribbons in her hair before she continues. "Happy Friendship Day, everyone!" she greets. Well, that must be what she was going to say. Oh, wait, there's more, "If you didn't bring along a friend, find one! Maybe even someone special," she adds in with a *very* obvious wink. "We've got some activities you won't want to miss!" Well, judging by the demeaner of a few in the group, they might want to miss them.
Well, it is rather uncharacteristic for Wesley to be this emotional about...something. Whatever it is, he tries to put it out of his mind for now; however, occasionally he'll glance at the door, or grit his teeth in annoyance or nervousness - it's hard to tell. "Happy..friendship day to you too..." he mutters back, before looking up at Karin. After all, she hold a microphone, so he must listen! At the lady's speech, he sighs and looks, in general, unenthused at that thought. He turns to a subject of speaking that he knows he's interested in. "Catch any new Pokemon?" he asks of Mikomi. ThoughtThief, meanwhile, chuckles. <Eh..you think you're a flying type or somethin', rat?> he laughs. <Aw, shaddup and leave 'im alone, yah fat freak!> Fistfight mutters back, while peering around with interest and trying to see just what 'activities' there are and where.
Iggy hmphs, closing his eyes and raising his snout. Him? Cause trouble? The bulbasaur continues this pose, until he walks straight into someone's legs. <Ack!> He sits back on his haunces, shaking his head, then gets to his feet and quickens his pace to follow Mike, 'bulba'ing at the offending legs as he goes. Mike, meanwhile, finally makes it to the edge of the crowd. "Jeez, what a mess," she mutters.
Jane just eyes Karin for a moment. "Ain't she th' perky one. Wonder if they's gonna do anythin' fer entertainment." Not noticing anyone she can reconize yet, she just shrugs and leans back against a wall. Sideshow settles down next to her. <Really Miss Jane, can't we do something besides just watch?> "M'be when Ah act'ally find out whut's goin' on."
Dave smiles and almost catches himself yelling, "Happy friendship day!" over the crowd to Karin. Instead he beams his smile some more and turns to both Noel and Citine, barely whispering the frase of the day. "'Appy friendship Day ta' ya' too dudes, like, wha' games she talkin' 'bout, ya'll know?"
The girl giggles a bit, then waves enthusiastically to Minshi, disappearing into the crowd. Speaking of the crowd, as Karin cheerfully announces for them to all have a happy Friendship Day, they murmur, "You too!", some people more cheerfully than others. The shiny toothed man gives the thumbs up to a woman near the stage, who flinches a bit. With a little shiver of anxiety, the 20-year old quietly waits for Karin to get off the stage so that she can make an announcement of her own. By the looks of it, she's not looking forward to doing so. The crowd goes back to purchasing things... but, unfortunately, the flower seller with the cute little Oddish doesn't seem to be doing too well. With a small little frown, she quietly drums her fingers upon the booth. Maybe business will perk up in a bit...
Dylan arrives from the street.
Dylan has arrived.
Dylan walks in with Pupster, a male Growlithe, at his side. He's beaming, and even though he knows no one here, he yells out "I JUST CAUGHT MY THIRD POKEMON!!!!"
Dylan chooses a Growlithe!
Pupster has arrived.
Citine shrugs, "I dunno, happy friendship day t'ya too Dave!" He yells over the crowd and turns around, wondering if Scarlett was ever gonna show up. Shrugging, the trainer looks around for any of the so-called "games" and then turns to the stage to see what the next person has to say.
Noel looks around for anyone he knows (or would like to know better). He didn't hang with the Pokemon Trainer crowd back home, so he doesn't know many people. The one person he was hoping would be here isn't. He turns to Dave when he addresses him and shrugs at his question. "Dude...Like, I didn't even know this was gonna happen. I like, totally was in the right place at the right time." He looks over at a couple of girls and whispers to Dave. "Like, there's some righteous babes here."
Minshi stands up, "Come on Growlithe, lets go. I know its pointless, but I do have some spending money." He and growlithe slowly make there way to the flower stand. Minshi continues to adjust his cap and hood if he gets bumped, nervous about loosing it. "I wish they sold something like masks." He mumbles, as he reaches the stand.
Karin skips off of the stage with another wave and wink. Perky is right. Cute, but perky. The girl then crosses her arms behind her back as she waits for the next announcement. Hmm. There are a few people that look single. Aww.
Jett nods and kneels down for a bit, "Off you get, you two." He says to his two Pokemon, placing down Steve with his arms as a hint. <Awww....> Steve says jokingly. Nibbles is too busy chewing through the flyer Jett had to notice, so Jett returns him to his Pokeball. Looking up at the stage to Karin, Jett grins, and turns to Mike, "Oh yeah, I have some stuff for you!" He takes his backpack off and unzips it, handing a card to Mike that simply says, 'Happy Friendship Day' with Jett's signature in it. He frowns, looking through the rest of his backpack. "I got something else too, I just gotta find it..." he tells her, rumaging to look for the object.
A Katerwaul slinks closer, bright eyes all ablaze ... so whisper a prayer and start that save! (Saving)
Wesley's being grouchy, and Fistfight's being friendly to Chuemoko.. did they switch personalities on the way up to Saffron? The Pikachu begins to steadily ignore the Drowzee, who is being nothing but mean anyhow, and crawls back to Mikomi. With some pawing at her knee, the girl bends down to scoop him back up. "I'm sorry about Chuemoko," she murmurs in a deeply regretful tone. "He was just happy to see you. It's been a while since we've run into each other." The poor Pikachu is scritched behind the ear to try and cheer at least someone in this little group up. It was friendship day, after all, it's supposed to be a happy day! "I caught another Vulpix a few days ago, actually," she answers when Wesley brings up his question, a smile taking to her lips. "I don't know that I have the time to take care of two of them. Maybe I'll find her a good home with someone who will love her and treat her well."
Dylan grins, and Pupster just shakes his head. <You're an idiot... sheesh, no wonder you're single. C'mon, it's chow time.> Dylan nods... "Pup... I'm nervous... you know I don't do crowds... how did I ever get you to talk me into this..." Pupster puts two feet on Dylan's leg. <Hey, the Pokemon League is a big crowd. Get used to it!>
The Wartortle smiles at the Squirtle and nods, <Well, dare I say it? I'm doing groovy?> A chuckling snorrtle comes out of his mouth and he turns back to the stage. Dave meanwhile turns to Noel and chuckles, jesting, "Yeah, ta' bad they'll be swoonin' so much over me, tha' there won't be none lef' fer ya' dude. It's wha' 'appens when ya' 'ang wit' the 'andsomer kids." I think we need a larger party hall, Dave's ego is inflating, but no, he's just fooling around, something an eighteen year old with a fourth grader's personality does. Scanning the area to see who else he knows, he doesn't catch anyone and sighs a bit. "'Ey, like, I'm glad ya' got 'ere ta' see this at least Noel, it's totally rad! Like, either ya' know 'ow much the flowers are?" His eyes caught the stand so it seems.
Stumbling onto stage is the woman with the *giant* glasses, who looks extremely... serious. What is a woman like her doing at such a fun festival? She looks like she'd rather be working or something. "If I could please obtain your attention for a few short moments..." She clears her throat a bit, frowning at nothing really. "As our..." She glances to the side. "Little friend implied, we'll be having a few activites tonight. The first one is beginning now - if you'll please direct your attention to the far left corner..." The crowd does. There's the man with the sparkly teeth who was setting up the chairs. "Mr. Coleman is in charge of a... friendship... quiz. Test how close a friendship you and your friend possess, he'll give you the rules." Without so much as a 'Have fun!' the woman adjusts her glasses and walks off stage. Two or three people clap.
Citine's Squirtle blinks and shrugs, <You are really actin' like yore trainer dere!> The three pokemon turn to the stage, as well as Citine. The trainer's eyes are fixed on the stage, giving the announcer the full attention span he's capable of.
Minshi sighs, "I wish I had a reason to go take that quize. I don't think they would include you growlithe." He shakes his head, and with a frown quickly moves away from the chairs, to get away from the future crowd.
Well, now Mikomi knows the horrifying truth - Wesley is a human boy, who, at times, can feel negative emotions. And, right now, he's just not quite happy. He doesn't like lights, he doesn't like decorations, and he doesn't like noise. However, he does have a conversation to carry, and it happens to be with a person he likes, despite the fact she can't fight off attacking Tangela. He looks interested at the mention of a Vulpix. "Really? Does this Vulpix have any..personality defects? How young is it? I have a Growlithe I'm...none-too-fond of." Hmm..is Wesley capable of 'loving' a Pokemon? One wouldn't think so, from his current state of mind. Fistfight, however, perks up. <Hey! Friendship quiz thingy! Let's go!> ThoughtThief snorts. <Our boy'll bleedin' lose!> Fistfight frowns at that. Wes..most likely will. Jane doesn, finally, notice someone she does reconize amongst the people and crowds, and meanders towards her, shaking her head at the stiff old lady chatting. What's a rigid solemn type like her doing around here. Ah well. She walks over to Mike, and taps her on the shoulder. "Howdy Mike, 'member me?" Sideshow uhboys. <You DO know who that is, I hope. I don't want a repeat of last time you tried to--> "Can it, Sideshow."
Dylan sighs. "Pup... I'm out of place here..." Pupster grabs his leg in gentle teeth and starts pulling. <You... are... making... friends!> Dylan stumbles and barely keeps up. "Hey! Get offa me! I'll go, sheesh! I don't know what I'm gonna do but get off of my pants, man!" Pupster grins and trots over to a table, looking around. <Hey Zenny! Hey man! Woof!>
Karin hops up back to the stage and gleefully adds, "Have fun!" The girl then makes her way towards the area so she can help out there, too. Spunkily, I might add. Very spunkily.
Citine shrugs at the announcement, "Hmph, not like dere's anyone here *to* take dat quiz wit. An' no Ter, Fleet, QuickPaw...they will probably *not* accept pokemon in dat." He says and Terry manages to stop his sentence, <I'll--nevermind.>
Mike blinks as Iggy finally squirms his way out from the crowd. "There you are, Iggy," she says, grinning, kneeling down to carry the bulbasaur in her arms. <Yeesh. Next time you decide to take me to one of these things... don't!> As the announcer does her.. announcing, the trainer hmms, "Well that's interesting. Say Jett, have you seen--" She blinks as Jett whips out his card, and she takes it in her free hand, grinning like a fool as she looks it over. "Thanks, man!" Her grin suddenly drops, "I'm afraid I haven't gotten-- hm?" She's interrupted by the tap, and turns her attention to Jane, putting on her wide grin again. "Miss Jane! Wow, I haven't seen you in a while. How've you been?"
The Wartortle glances back to Terry and smirks, <I knew I shouldn't have said it.> A large hand gives the smaller Squirtle a firm smack on the shell, it looks like the usually harsh water type is being friendly. Dave looks up and gives his attention for the time being to the lady on the stage. He is one of the few who claps, eliciting a few weird looks which he gives shrugs and a large smile to. "Like, 'ey, if it's between Wt an' I, I think we could win. We've been together fer wha', like," he starts thinking, having to scrunch his face to do it, "6 an' some odd months, years? We are pretty much in tune, or as much as our stubborness will allow us to be." The Wartortle nods and snortles again with his trainer. Dave sighs, "But, like, if its wit' 'uman friends, I'm afraid all mine are well, I guess I don't 'ave many, wit' my trainin' an' all." The sad moment is quickly gone by as he looks around seeing that maybe he does have more friends than he thinks. If he walks around he'd know enough people here.
Many couples have already made their way towards Mr. Coleman, or spanky-dressed man, curious about what this quiz is. "I should add!" The man says, showing off those blinding teeth and his... uh... sorta-but-not-very stylish threads. He's got a very... uh... commanding voice. "That we will be giving out two prizes - one to eat of the members of the couple who wins the little quiz. It's very, very fun to do." Grin, grin, sparkle. He waits for more people to come so he can explain the rules... supposing any more do come.
Jett smiles, "No problem! I want to give my other present to you before the quiz starts, though..." He looks up at the announcement of the games beginning, and looks stumped as to where he left his present, but suddenly remembers. Zipping up his backpack and putting it on his shoulders again, he stands and produces something small out of his pocket, and is about to give it to her when Jane walks over, and he widens his eyes in surprise. "Hey Jane! I didn't know you would be here! Hey." he greets her, smiling.
Minshi sighs deeply this time, and sits back down with his growlithe. "Wonder if they will try growlithe." He says, more to himself then the growlithe. He gently pets the pokemon, trying to keep an eye on Jett and Mike.
Jane grins at Mike. "Just dandy. Been workin' on trainin' th' fox I gut from the Rory fight, an' all. Keepin' busy, y'know. How's you doin'?" Sideshow lets out a reliefed sigh as it does indeed turn out to be someone Jane does know. So instead of having to defend her for her stupidity this time, he pulls his hat off his head and uses it to fan himself.
Dylan hangs at the food table, taking a tasty looking sandwich. "Man... not even a look. Hey, who you calling to, Pup?" Pupster says <Zenny, of course. He's here and I'm not gonna go up to him yet, but I think he's busy...> Dylan nods. "Great. The mutt knows more people than I do." Pupster gives him a playful bite.
"I don't know how young she is," Mikomi has to honestly answer, "I'll probably have to ask Nurse Joy or someone the next time I'm in the Pokecenter. She seems real nice, though. I'll have to let you meet her sometime." She's fairly noncommittal, but hey, there's someone on the stage making announcements that has dragged her attention up there. "A .. quiz?" She gives Wesley a curious look.. but quickly dismisses the notion. He didn't look like he'd be interested in further subjection to the hype.
Daniel arrives from the street.
Daniel has arrived.
Daniel pokes his head in, a little out of breath, and looks around. He smiles, straightens out a few wrinkles in his clothing, and steps inside.
Wesley nods, his mind already turning to the thought of what Pokemon he could trade for a Vulpix. There's a pause as his little mental calculator runs full tilt, thinking 'no, I don't want to trade my Voltorb' and 'maybe I could find another Water Type'. Fistfight nudges him, making him blink and shake his head. "Ah..meeting the Vulpix? That would be...appreciated, thank you," he says. He glances around as she mentions the quiz, and looks somewhat embarassed. Angry, nervous and now embarassed. Sigh; in one night he's making up for having shown so few emotions throughout his life. "You better go find someone you know well.." he mutters, staring at his shoes, before looking around for...wait, where did his Drowzee and his Machop go off too? They appear to be heading towards the quiz booth.
Dave points to both Noel and Citine, "Like, wan'na try it? I don't know if we can do a three way, but 'ey, until we know the rules, everythin's open righ'?" He smiles and starts walking towards the Friendship quiz area. On his way there he stops and looks thinking he spotted someone. Speaking soley to himself he mumbles, "Is tha' Mikomi? Nah." He continues on, waiting to see if the others follow. Wt barely realizes Dave is moving away and manages to just catch up to him as the mob starts moving to get a better look. He rotates his shoulders and his neck, stretching and gets ready for whatever is going to happen.
Citine shrugs and follows the other trainer, Terry following and pats Wt's shell also in return of the gesture. "Alright, I'm game." The trainer mutters and continues to follow Dave. Fleetfoot protests silently into his trainer's ear, <Don't do it! Come on....> Mike grins, reaching up to adjust her glasses with her wrist, since both hands are occupied. "I've been pretty good. Been trying to train the ponyta, myself. He's not too enthused about it, though." The bulbasaur resting in the trainer's arms peers over at the Rocket and her pokemon, hmming to himself. Maybe she'll have something interesting with her..
"C'mon, people!" Mr. Flashy Teeth grins, inviting more people in. "It's completely free, as the prize is fantastic!" Could it be flowers? Chocolate? A book? Only Mr. Coleman knows! "Is that everyone? Anyone else?" He notices Dave's interest, and grins a bit. Right now, the guy is still a little too far away and lost in the crowd for Mr. Coleman to be able to talk to just yet, but Sparkly Mouth makes a small little gesture.
Dylan looks down at his Growlithe. "Wonder if we could do that quiz, little guy..." Pupster looks around. <I dunno... why not? Let's go see?> The two stroll over to Mr. Flashy Teeth. "Yo. Pokemon allowed to go with their trainers?" Dylan's rather nonchalant, pulling his jacket closed and zipping it, finding comfort at the symbol on it's back.
Karin sighs, and slips into the crowd. First she goes up to Mikomi and Wesley. "Get on over," she says, nearly pulling them towards the chairs. "You don't have to be *married* to play." Before either of them can answer, she quickly flits over to Jett and Mike and Jane. "Any of you three playing? It's fun.. I promise!" The girl gives her signature wink before darting off again. Fast thing, she is. After talking to a few more groups of people, she gets to Minshi. "You look alone," she states to the boy. "If you're looking for a partner, I can play!" She smiles and clasps her hands together, tapping her feet.
Ollie has arrived.
Butch has arrived.
Crystal has arrived.
Glancing around, Mikomi releases a little sigh and lets Wesley know, "I dunno anyone else here.. other than you." There is a shrug of her shoulders, and she starts to say something else when Karin shows up, at which point her face turns three shades of red. The Pikachu has moved up to her shoulders to lounge about and investigate possibilities of food, leaving poor Mikomi to stare dumbfoundedly in the direction Karin disappeared in, and then back at Wesley.
Minshi blinks, then looks up at Karin, "Huh?" He asks, then looks at growlithe, then back to Karin. He sighs and stands up giving her a nod, "Sure, I guess I could partner with you. We wont win, but maybe it will be fun." He reaches up and adjusts his headgear again, then nods, "Lead the way."
Jane chuckles a bit. Sideshow eyes the Bulbasaur eyeing them. "Eh, them thare hosses can be stubb'rn thin's. My first pok'mon wus a horse, an' Ah -still- ain't gott'n him completely tamed." Sideshow eyes her. <He's -tame- now?> "He is compar'd t'whut he use to be like..." She shakes her head to Karin. "Not nobody 'round Ah know well 'nuff t'even have a chance, Ah reckon."
Jett waits politely for the girls to catch up with one another, but he's sorta interested in this quiz that's starting now, even if they are talking about a Pokemon he has. Folding his arms, he politely interupts between the conversation, "Hey you two, do you guys wanna try out the quiz? It sounds kinda fun..." he gets unexpectently backed up with his idea as Karin walks up to them and says her bit, before dashing off again. "Yeah, come on everyone, you think it's a good idea, don't ya Steve?" he asks his Squirtle. The Squirtle smiles and nods, <Yup yup! Let's go!>
Melissa arrives from the street.
Melissa has arrived.
Wesley is a confused boy at the best of times, when it comes to his relationships with other people. Mentioning marriage...doesn't make it any better. He blinks, stares, his normally white face suddenly turning as red as a tomato that had just run a hundred miles in the Sahara Desert. He just kind of..looks at Mikomi with a lost puppy dog kind of look, bliiiinks, cocks his head and...blinks some more. Fistfight and ThoughtThief, having paused and moved backwards through the crowd some to hear what Karin had to say, chuckle and begin to drag Mikomi and Wesley to the quiz booth; Fistfight grabbing Wes and ThoughtThief dragging Mikomi somewhat more roughly.
Butch begins making his way in from the street. Hair combed neatly, yet wind-ruffled, and dressed rather smartly comes a green-haired young man, leading a small group to the area. A gold necklace hangs around his neck, and an honest smile is on his face. It's a welcome change, from the shark-like one Butch usually posesses.
Karin giggles, nodding towards Minshi. "Great!" she says. "Don't worry," she explains, nearly pulling the boy along with her towards the seats. "I'm great at telling out things about people!" she says with a wink. Yeah, they'll be lucky if they get one question right. She glances towards the others she talked to in the room.
Mike grins, nodding slightly, "Yah, I know it. Ya know, Jett's got a really awes-- Jett??" She blinks, looking over her shoulder as said trainer moves off. "I'm sorry. Excuse me," she mutters apologetically, looking back to Jane before turning on her heels to follow. "Jett, wait up!" Iggy's bounced around rather uncomfortably in his trainer's arms as she goes. "Bul-ba-bul-baa!" <Stop the ride, stop the ride!>
Leave it to Karin to make a party turn into a smash hit. Giving her a very enthusiastic thumbs up, supposing she sees it, Mr. Coleman looks around. "Anyone else?" There are three other pairs of people. Karin and Minshi currently make up a fourth pair.
Ollie follows Butch in quietly, looking around at all the people in the area. "Shiverin' Snikies," he states. "Lots of people..." The young lad shakes his head. He looks around for people he knows--heck, that's what everyone does, don't they?
"Ow ow ow ow ow," Mikomi is perhaps heard muttering beneath her breath as the Drowzee is yanking her towards the Quiz Booth, but off that way she goes, not far behind Wesley. The Pikachu on her shoulder is still in search of food, though holding onto his trainer's shirt, he manages not to fall as the girl is tugged at unmercifully. By the time she gets nearer where they're supposed to be, most of the red has left her face, lingering only as a deeper pink in the apples of her cheeks and at the tops of her ears.
Dave smiles seeing a small gesture waving him on, given to him by the loud mouth Sparkly guy doing the game. Dave smiles to Citine and nods, looking back over his shoulder for Noel, but he's lost him in the crowd. Wt turns, startled when the Squirtle smacks him back. Realizing who it is though, the Wartortle goes back to being a jolly version of himself. Dave pushes his way through the gathering crowd, which is really hard seeing as they are starting to pack in like sardines. The thought that should be in his mind is fire hazard, but really he is just thinking of being *swiiiish* smo-o-oth.
Minshi cant help give a small nod, "I will do my best, I guess thats all I can say. Whats your name any how?" He asks, before glancing behind him to make sure growlithe is following him. <Help Staff> Angelic Polaris snugs!
Dylan taps his foot, waiting for Mr. Coleman to answer. Pupster notices his frustration. <No Bites, no Embers, no Flamethrowers.> Dylan whispers "Fine, if he doesn't answer soon, Take Down." Pupster growlgroans. <Sheesh, when you're nervous, you're nervous... sheesh...> Jane sighs. "Well, so much fer strikin' up thet conversation." <Maybe you should just go try> "An' look like an idjit cuz Ah don't know anybody well enough? Ah barely know Mike as more then a passin' aquantance."
Why does Melissa always come to places with so many people? She's always nervous and shy, and she rarely ever says anything. In fact, the girl even brought along a little book about 'The Wonders of Calculators'. Well, that's sure to be interesting. Puff, her Nidoran, is *Not* at her side, which is pretty strange. Yep. She's all alone.
Citine shrugs and continues to follow Dave to the Quiz booth thingie, Fleetfoot protesting all the way and the Squirtle smiling as he grins happily at the Wartortle. The trainer looks around and begins to have second thoughts, "Why not...and Fleet...I'm not gonna change my mind here." Crystal follows Butch into the party hall. The young woman's blue hair is also ruffled, most likely from a wind outside. "Wow, full crowd tonight," she comments to her boyfriend, her own necklace glinting in the soft light.
Daniel edges along one wall, heading for the drinks. Despite his change of clothes, his backpack is still on, with the head of a pale purple Rattata poking out and looking around. He picks up a glass of red punch and sips at it, watching the festivities.
Butch nods to Crystal and Ollie as he looks around. "See anyone we'd know?" he asks. He bites his lip thoughtfully, looking over the area with an apprasing eye. He hopes they're serving coffee tonight.
Karin answers enthuastically, "Karin!" She smiles, and sits down in one of the seats to wait. "And what is yours?" she asks, tilting her head at the odd, but cute none-the-less boy. Her movements contrast Minshi's by a ton. Quick, certain, and flareful. "And is that your Growltihe? He's cute!" She got the gender right-off, too.
Wesley is still a bit flushed, but eventually ends up at his destination, staring around...and having no clue what to do at all. Chairs? Sit? It's too hard for his little brain to comprehend! He looks over at Mikomi, wondering if she can help him get passed his mental roadblock. And unfortunately he misses the entrance of the one person he wanted to meet this whole stupid Festival! Ah..maybe he and Melissa aren't as fated to meet up as was originally thought. Fistfight and ThoughtThief, meanwhile, let go and trot up as close to the booth as they can get. <How much d'you wanna bet this thing's a written quiz?> ThoughtThief mutters. <Eh,> Fistfight replies, with a shrug.
Jett chases after his Squirtle who's wandered over towards where the quiz is being held, and scoops him up again before he trips someone in the crowd up, or someone steps on him. He turns back to look at Mike as she approaches him, waiting for her. "Sorry about that, Steve can be a darn nusience sometimes." Steve grins and nods mischeiviously, <C'mon, c'mon! It looks like fun!> Jett takes Mike's hand and tugs her along behind him, "Hurry up, slowpoke, they're almost starting up now." He waves over to the man who looks like he's holding the quiz, "Hey! We'll give it a try!' he calls over to the man, who happens to be Mr. Coleman.
The young Rocket known as Oliver hears a friend of his before he sees her. "Miss Jane!" he says, shuffling towards the young woman with a wave. He smiles towards Butch, looking genuinly into things. Wonder what came over him in the last few days? Either way, he tries to get noticed by Jane, walking up to her.
"Ah!" White Teeth grins at Dave and Citine, gesturing for them to take a seat. "The rules are simple." The man calls. His voice is so loud and spirited, he doesn't need a microphone. Looking over to Jett, he nods, pointing at the chairs. "I will ask you a series of questions. What I will need you to do..." He gestures towards the sitting couples. "Is to answer these questions for *yourself* and about your friend. Say I ask 'What's your favorite drink?'. You will write down what you believe your friend's favorite drink is, and then, making sure we know which is which, write down your own. You'll be back to back. You can try to cheat..." He coughs a bit. "But anyone caught will be eliminated. Any questions?"
Jane ba'blinks at the call, and looks over her shoulder. And then her grin returns as she sees who it is. "O--errr..." She turns bright red as she completely fails to remember what to call Ollie besides his 'real' name. "Uh... Hi!" She just blurts out finally. Sideshow facepalms at her. Well, at least she didn't just spit his name out.
Minshi nods, "Yea, well he follows me. He is his own I guess." Minshi says, then shakes his head, "Cute? You know some girls would be put off by the scar on his face." He shrugs and watches as Growlithe moves to lay beside him. "Oh right, my name is Minshi. A pleasure to meet you." He frowns slightly, noticing both Jett and Mike heading this way. He sighs and tries to hide his face more. He listens to the rules, then nods, "Well, good luck."
Dylan almost asks how Coleman likes his grilled person, but sighs. "Ignored again. C'mon Pup, looks like 18 year olds aren't welcome here." He turns and starts to walk out. Pupster growls and barks four times at Coleman and turns to follow Dylan. <Hey bro, come back! Hey!>
Melissa hears the rules, true enough, but, eh, she's got nobody to do the quiz with. Unless her Nidoran can hold a pen and write, which is pretty unlikely. Still, she can watch the... sigh... lucky people with *friends*... right? She makes her way over to the quiz area. Who knows? Maybe she'll spot somebody she knows. Not like she knows anyone, anyway...
Citine blinks at the rules and then turns to Dave, "Dink we can 'andle dis?" He says and begins to wonder something he swore he'd never wonder, "How do you cheat?" <Citine!> "Ack! Nevermind...don't even tell me!" The trainer sighs and then turns to the surfer, "Guess it'll be fun, no?"
Crystal shakes her head, keeping close to Butch with this crowd. "No, I don't, unfortunately," she replies as she tugs him towards the tables of food. "Let's get something to eat. I'm starving from that trip."
Dave grins and immediately takes a seat, offering the one in back of him for Citine to sit in. He listens to the rules and nods along with the speech. Seeing Jett and Mike he smiles and gives a large wave and a smile. "Like, le's git this on its way dude!" He holds up his hand for a hi5 with Citine. "We'll rock m'amigo!" Dave nods to his question.
Dylan grumbles aloud. "Friendship Day... sheesh... I could be catching Pokemon... I could be dueling a trainer... I could be visiting Mom, or Dad, or Prof. Fir... oh no... I had to listen to Pokedexmon over here..." Pupster sniffs. <Hey, I thought it'd be fun! It's not too bad, free food is free food!>
"What's going on?" asks Ollie to Jane, curious. Then he overhears the rules from the showperson and blinks a few times. "Hey, are you playing?" he asks, surpringly up. He smiles and waves a bit towards Crystal and Butch, saying, "Brad and his.. friend.. are here, too." Maybe he's feels too sheepish saying girlfriend. And of course, the possibility of Jane not knowing Butch's alias is there, too.
Mike blinks, erking slightly as Jett grabs her wrist and yanks her into a faster run. "Whoa! Slow dow--" She blinks suddenly, then grins, raising her voice, adding a slight giggle in the middle of it. "I'm -not- a slowpoke!" She blinks suddenly, not meaning to shout it that loudly. Maybe the crowd was too loud to hear. Heh heh.. As she sits down on one of the chairs, the bulbasaur in her lap groans uncomfortably, looking rather dizzy, <That was unpleasant..>
Daniel drains the remainder of his glass of punch and picks up a wafer cookie, holding it back over his shoulder for Packrat to munch on. He chuckles a little at the mini-stampede for the quiz area, standing safely with his back against the wall and observing from afar.
Taking her own seat beside Wesley, Mikomi looks largely confused, and still a touch embarassed. The Pikachu dangles from her shoulder and suddenly realizes he's up in front of all the people in the room.. near none of the food, either! Perplexed, he sits up on her shoulder and stares blankly out in the crowd, only to have a chirpy smile grab his features all of the sudden. Look at all the people paying attention to him! He was famous! A cooing sound rolls from his throat. Karin nodnods as she listens to the rules, even though she knows them all already. The girl turns over to Minshi, "Good luck to you, too." She grins, and adds, "And scars? Scars can be very attractive," she giggles, referring to the Pokemon. "I know a Geodude..." she begins, but quiets down as the thing begins to start.
Jane shakes her head. "Wasn't no one here fer muh ta play with." She shrugs a bit, and then glances past him at 'Brad' and his girl. And despite the trademark green hair, utterly fails to reconize him. "Who's th' feller with th' dame youse with?"
Apparently, Mr. Coleman doesn't have any time to listen to poor Dylan. What a jerk Shiny Teeth is. "So, if there are no more questions... shall we start?" He gestures to a teenage boy behind him (where did he come from?), who instantly begins passing out clipboards, pencils, and paper. You have to write on something, after all.
Butch nods and gets drug towards the food table. He puts his arm around Crystal as they walk, and smirks. "So, who d'you think's gonna win this time Queenie?" he asks, falling back to the nickname he gave her after last year. "And where'd Wilson go?"
Citine highfives, sits down in the chair, and sighs, "Good luck buddy!" He says and his Squirtle waddles over to the Wartortle, <Hmm, so, how've ya been?> He shakes his head, "Nope, no questions."
Minshi looks up at Melissa and smiles, "Hey, I think I know you from somewhere?" He calls out to her, as if asking. He then glances back to his partner and smiles, before looking away and sighs, touching his cap where it covers his face. "Yea... sure." He mumbles, a bit sad. When he gets the needed writing stuff, he puts the pencil aside and digs out his own instead.
Written? Daaang! Fistfight and ThoughtThief look a bit dejected, but then perk up somewhat. <What's your favourite drink?> ThoughtThief sneers, <Hag-cola?> <Naw,> Fistfight responds, <a special drink made from the brains of psychics. That's how I get so smart.> <Mmmhmm...what's five times two?> <Uh...oh, shaddup, like you know!> Fistfight responds irritably to ThoughtThief's laughter. Meanwhile, Wesley eventually sits down, taking Mikomi's lead. Unfortunately, he seems intent on staring at his shoes, only looking up to blink as he takes a pencil, paper and clipboard. Poor Melissa..well, maybe one of Wesley's more observant Pokemon will notice her, when they're not too busy mocking each other.
Dylan leaves through the main door.
Dylan has left.
Jett laughs, and sits down in the paring chair behind Mike, putting Steve on his lap. "Oh yeah, whatever!" he replies to Mike, with that goofy look on his face. He nods to Mr. Coleman rules, "Okay, jeez, I hope I get everything right in this... but we can do it, Mike." The Squirtle bounces up and down in his lap, rather excited. <This is fun! When do we start?> he asks. "Soon, Stevie, soon." The trainer replies, smiling, and waiting for the quiz to start.
Ollie facepalms. He shakes his head, sighing. "That's Butch," he states in a quiet whisper, on tiptoes so he can talk into Jane's ear. "But don't yell out or anything," he reminds her, before she can yell out or anything. Then he stands back down. "Hey! It's starting!" he says. "C'mon, I'll be your partner!" The boy smiles at Jane. It's doubtful she wanted a 13-year old date, but...
Melissa notices Minshi, and blushes instantly. "Know me? I... um..." She quietly turns her face away. "I don't think so." Someone is outgoing and cheerful tonight, huh? Through her glasses, she spares a little glance at Minshi. Is he still looking at her? Oh, gosh, she's so shy!
Dave takes the notepad and pencil and waits attentively. He isn't sure how he'll do, in fact, he is angling towards the not so great side, but then again, by the looks of others here, they don't seem to be all that great of friends either, except for maybe Jett and Mike. He taps Citine and says, "'Ey, look, it 'is' Mikomi, an' she's wit' Wesley!" He chuckles a bit and waits for the first question. The Wartortle makes a few boxing moves and says, <I'm feeling like I could win a million battles!>
Jane just eyes Ollie for a moment. "Then why are ya callin' him Bra--ow!" She snaps, and peers at Sideshow after he whapped her with the map they'd been using earlier. "Whut wuz thet for?!" <Before you said something stupid.> "Oh." She rubs her head, and then blinks at Ollie. "Well, iffen ya really want'd to, Ah guess. If they ain't started yet."
Crystal mmms as she spots a chocolate donut and snags it. "Not sure, to tell you the truth. But there seem to be a number of possibilities," the blue-haired Trainer says as she takes a bite of the dessert. "Care for a piece?"
Oliver nods. "Why not, ma'a.." he shakes his head. "Miss Jane." Better not use formal titles around here. As if anyone would really equate Ollie calling someone 'ma'am' with Team Rocket. The boy coughs a bit, and says, "And I'll explain about -Brad- later," he says, rubbing the back of his head. He's not exasperated with Jane at all, just a bit... taken off-guard. "Anyway, c'mon," he says, walking to the chairs, sitting down, and taking a clipboard, handing one to the Rocket nearly as mixed-up as he.
"All ri-i-ight!" Mr. Coleman is like some television game show reject, don't you think? "Let's start it off." He looks at his notes for a moment, and nods confidently. "First question is a simple one. Oh!" He suddenly remembers. "Don't forget to write your name and your partner's name at the top of the sheet." He clears his throat. "What is your friend's favorite Pokemon? Don't forget to write not only your friend's, but write your own, as well! Don't forget to mark which one is which! Keep yourselves back to back, and don't cheat!" So cheerful.
Mike sticks her tongue out at Jett, then takes the offered pencil and paper, nodding a thanks, and reaches up to adjust her cap and glasses. "Okay, hold still for me, Iggy, please?" she asks to the bulbasaur, gently leaning the clipboard on his raggy bulb to write easier. Said bulbasaur grunts in annoyance, resting on his stomach with his stubby limbs spread out. <I'd better get something good after this...>
Butch nods and accepts, taking a quick bite. "Don't mind if I do." he says. Grabbing up a jelly donut, he experimentally takes a bite, while glancing around for Ollie. His eyes widen as he sees him with Jane. This is not good. She could easily blow his cover. Good thing Crystal already knows both his names.
Dave scribbles something down eyeing his Wartortle and bringing the pen up to his lips for him to be quiet. The Wartortle nods and stops talking. Turning back to the sheet, Dave scribbles a bit more and then puts his pad down.
Dave pages: Dave's-Wartortle, Citine's-Squirtle?
Minshi looks at Melissa again, "Oh sorry, I thought we met..." He trails off when the contest starts. He sighs and thinks a little bit, before writing down his two answers, marking each one as he does so. He frowns slightly, and after writing the answers looks at Melissa again. Of course, with his face hidden the way it is.
Citine grins, "Dat's easy." He says and writes Dave's name and also his. He begins to write and then looks around. The Squirtle looks taken aback, but doesn't say anything as he sees the Wartortle be silent also.
Mike grins broadly. Easy! After a quick thought and writing her and Jett's names in the corner, she scribbles down her answer.
Karin smiles a little bit towards Melissa, but before she can say anything to Minshi, Mr. Coleman begins. She takes the clipboard, taptaps her chin in thought a moment, and then shrugs and jumps right in, scribbling down an answer. She also writes their names on the pad. She glances at Melissa again, and giggles to herself.
Mikomi jots her own name down on her questionaire, and then Wesley's on the other side, marking beneath his what her answer may be, and not looking as nervous about this whole quiz as she had thirty seconds before. This wasn't too hard, right? She'd get at least one question right. Jot, jot, jot. The Pikachu continues to ham it up and smile to the sea of his adoring fans who are out there and not participating in the quiz. The girl's answer for herself is marked beneath her own name, on a line parallel to that of the answer for Wesley.
<OOC> Hyper says "You can page me with what you wrote down now, or you can do all five questions and then page me all five after you're done. Whichever you prefer."
Mike pages: Me answers are squirtle (for Jett) and scarewulf (for me).
From afar, Mikomi wrote down Fistfight (Machop) for Wesley, and Chuemoko (Pikachu) for Mikomi.
Jett gets Steve to sit facing away from him, so he can use the Squirtle's shell as a tempoary table for the test. He thinks, writing down his and Mike's names, then chuckles, thinking of a funny answer. "Slowpoke!" he whispers to Steve, but then gets serious, writing down his and Mike's answers on the clipboard.
Jane sits down in the other chair. Well, if Ollie wants to play, she'll be nice and play with him. Someone's gotta be nice to the kid. Meanwhile, seeing as he, for once, sin't going to watch constantly over her, Sideshow wanders off to the snack tables himself. He already had to watch Jane scarf once, and didn't get a thing there. Unlike her, though, he reconizes the other Rocket easily, and mimes a greeting before taking a donut for himself. Jane grunts at the question, and scribbles down the answers. And then her name, and... Ah geeze. Remembering her partner's name is harder than the question!
Lucky for Butch, Ollie is *trying* to keep Jane from blurting out any of their names as she notices them. He then blinks, and hrms, chewing on the eraser. Finally, he jots down an answer, and begins doodling idly in the margins.
Jett pages: My answer is for the first question, Steve for Jett, and Scarewulf for Mike.
A Katerwaul slinks closer, bright eyes all ablaze ... so whisper a prayer and start that save! (Saving)
From afar, Jett bleahs. Steve = Squirtle.
Wesley frowns, writing both him and Mikomi's names at the top of the sheet. At the question, he frowns in thought. Hmm...what could it be? Mikomi's always gets a little wierd around birds, maybe that's it? Hmm, hmm, hmm...underneath Mikomi's name, he writes down one Pokemon, and underneath his own name, he writes down another one. However, each of them require a bit of thought - surprisingly, since he /should/ know what his favourite Pokemon is, right? Maybe not.
Melissa sighs a little bit. Well, at least Minshi's not glancing at her anymore. Hmm... these people seem to be having fun. Scribbling down their favorite Pokemon... wonder what Wesley's would be. Probably... huh. You know, she can almost hear his Machop now... how funny.
"O-kay! Next question is..." Mr. Coleman fumbles at his notes. "How old i... no, wait, no, that's... um... okay, here! What is your friend's... favorite food? Don't forget to write down your own, too." Mmm, food. Mr. Coleman's kinda hungry himself.
Wesley pages: Mikomi's favourite Pokemon: Pikachu. Wesley's favourite Pokemon: Venusaur.
Citine continues scratching down a bunch of scribbles, erasing, and then again scribbling some more. Fleetfoot is snoozing and Terry is just pacing back and forth and back and forth. Dave scribble scribble scribbles, and then stops. "Uhhh..." He grins taking a quick peak into the crowd, shrugging. He writes down a bit more and looks up, waiting on the next question.
Dave pages: Dave's-pizza Citine-pizza
Jane blinks. Now that's a hard one. She chews on the eraser of the pencil, trying to think of the answer. <Don't chew on the pencil, it's bad for your teeth,> scolds Sideshow from the sidelines. "Shaddup and stop bein' a backseat cont'stant,> she snaps back, and scribbles away. Karin hrms thoughtfully. That one is really, really hard. The girl taps her pencil agianst her chin some more, and scribbles down an answer, nodding and waiting for the next question.
Crystal scans the crowd for Wilson. "There he is, with the pink haired young woman," the blue-haired Trainer comments as she waves a hand towards the pair. "Know who he's with?" Mike droops a bit. Hmm.. That one's a bit harder. She pushes up on the brim of her cap, scratching her forehead with the eraser of her pencil, then she jots down something after readjusting her cap.
Minshi frowns, and thinks a little before writing down the answer. Once this is done he look back at Melissa, watching her trying to think. "Hmm... isnt..." He mumbles, then sighs waiting for the next question.
Biting the end of her writing utensil, eyes glued to the page sitting on her knees, Mikomi ponders the next question. This one was definitely harder than the first. Finally, the biting is shifted to her lower lip and she begins to jot down something beneath her own name, writing something under Wesley's a full minute later.
Mikomi pages: For Wesley: cheeseburger. For Mikomi: Pizza.
Oliver blinkblinks and.. chews on his pencil's eraser. "Oh, well, that might be it," he says to himself, scratching down an answer. He then begins doodling again, kicking his feet as he waits for the next question.
Mike pages: Burgers for Jett and burgers for me.
Eep! And then Minshi looks at Melissa again, causing her to blush even more. "I can't help you..." She says quietly, gesturing towards Karin. "I... don't know her favorite food." Wonder if they'll ask a 'What's your friend's favorite book?' question.
Jett hmms. That is a hard question! He thinks, blinking, then he remembers something. He quickly scribbles it down, and his favourite food too.
Butch nods. "Yeah. She's a friend of ours." he explains, voice dipping to a whisper. "Should we go say hi?" he asks, before taking another bite of donut.
Food?! Oy, ask us the square root of pi why don't you? It'd be just as hard for poor Wesley, whose brow furrows in a look of pure concentration. Sighing, pausing, mentally checking and mentally erasing, eventually he comes up with two answers. <Yer favourite food would be...crap, right?> Fistfight asks, jovially of the psychic. <Nope. I wouldn't want to try eating your favourite delicacy!> ThoughtThief says, with a snicker. However, his ears perk..wait, someone just spoke, when this part of the room is so quiet...and that voice sounds familiar. Eh..well, the voice was pretty quiet. Maybe he just imagined it.
From afar, Jett put down 'Fast food' for his answer, and 'Pot Roast' for Mike's.
Daniel hrms, looking at the bottom of his glass. Empty. That just won't do. He returns to the punch glasses, discarding his paper cup and picking up a new one, as well as a chunk of donut for the Rattata now that it's done with the cookie. Looking over the people in front, he spies Mikomi, and raises his glass in greeting to her.
Wesley pages: Mikomi's favourite food: spaghetti. Welsey's favourite food: steak.
Ollie pages: Okay. Jane: Ponyta. Ollie: Farfetch'd. Jane: Grits? Ollie: Pizza with sausage and mushrooms.
"Thiiiiiird question! Hope you guys are doing well!" Mr. Coleman, now wondering if he can announce everything while buying a pastry or something, speaks loudly and firmly. "How old is your friend in years? Take note that this is in years, and... round down. Even if your friend turns seventeen the day after tomorrow, write down 'sixteen'. Don't forget to add your own!"
Jane wells, now that's an easy one. Even she can count! Sure, she doesn't quite know his name, but she knows his age. Maybe.
Karin pages: Karin: Pokemon in Love! Minshi: Growlithe, Karin: Chocolate! Minshi: Burgers, Karin: 16, Minshi: Uh...
Mike smirks, slightly. Here we go. After a quick though, she jots down her answers. The bulbasaur grunts softly, <Hurry up, will ya!>
Mike pages: 17 for Jett and 16 for me.
Dave scribbles and really isn't too sure. "Ahh, why nah." He jots down a few notes quickly and looks up, shrugging and smiling. The Wartortle facepalms.
Karin pages: Minshi, sixteen.
Dave pages: Dave-18 Citine-16?
Citine scrbbles down and then looks up, giving a slight thumbs-up to the surfer dude. The Rattata sighs in his sleep and Terry just...well...he just facepalms.
Minshi frowns, "No, I think I know where remember you from. Didn't you..." He gets cut off by the question, causing him to shake his head and look down, he glances over at Karin a few times, then scratches his head. Finally, he slowly writes down his answers, before turning back to Melissa, "Perfume shop?" He asks, feeling stupid.
That one Mikomi jots down immediately.. but was the speedy response written in her own column, or Wesley's? Hopefully she would know how old -she- is. Would her younger companion's actual length of worldly existance be recalled? The pencil refuses to move for a while as the girl thinks, then a number is jotted down under the previously unanswered column.
Jacob arrives from the street.
Jacob has arrived.
Mikomi pages: Wesley 10, Mikomi 14
Ollie pages: Ollie: 12 (crossed out.) 13 (crossed out.) 14 (crossed out.) 13! Jane: 18.
Jett thinks about the question, and jots down the answers. Easy! He even told Mike last month it was his birthday, too. Steve squirms on his lap and says, <Can I see what you wrote?> Jett replies kindly, "After the quiz is over, Stevie."
From afar, Jett puts his answers as, '17' for himself, and '16' for Mike.
Ollie quickly answers Jane's age with ease, and then he stalls on his own. The boy mutters a bit, and writes down different ages, scratching them out, and finally writing down an age. It's hard to remember your age when you lie about it constantly.
Perfume shop? "That..." Melissa's blush fades slightly. But not much. "Was you?" Huh. Let's think. Hmmm. Was he the one with the absolutely gorgeous Ponyta? Or... well, unless he's Wesley in disguise, he can't tell. "I... yes, I went there..." The girl looks down at her book. Her head is so bent, she might as well be tying her shoes.
Wesley sneaks a glance at Mikomi...not at her paper, just at herself. He frowns, trying to recall when/if he ever asked her her age. Children aren't good at judging age as a rule. Still, he writes down his own age, then, after a long pause, writes down Mikomi's age. <This is too easy...> ThoughtThief remarks, <I can score too many jokes off this! Yer a hundred billion and some, right?> he asks of Fistfight. <Hmm..well, what're you. One hour old? You act as dumb as you are!> ThoughtThief can't respond..it's that voice again! It's...somewhere! He begins to scan the area, hoping to see the voice's owner.
Wesley pages: Mikomi's age: 18. Wesley's age: 10.
Karin answers a few questions, listening to Minshi and Melissa's conversation with a half-smirk on her face. She nods at her answers, the young teenager tilting her head. "That's right," she says.
Mr. Coleman grins broadly, his pearly white teeth dazzling. "Question number four... oo, this is a hard one, folks." He clears his throat, booming forward with his voice once more. "Where..." Aie! Prepare yourself! "... was your friend born? Don't forget to write down your own birthplace, as well."
Jacob steps into the doorway of the party hall, left hand on the silvered head of his cane. Despite the fact that he's a decade or more older than most here, the man appears at ease. HIs eyes scan the crowd, but if he finds the face he seeks, he gives no sign of it. He enters, cane aiding his steps.
Crystal nods, taking another bite of her donut. "Sure, I wouldn't mind meeting his friend," she replies.
Minshi sighs deeply, "Sorry, I guess I am wrong." He says this sadly, then sighs and stares at the paper. "I am going to make a fool of myself." He says to Karin, before sighing again as the question is asked. He taps the board, then writes his answers slowly.
Dave smiles and quickly sketches something onto the notepad; he seems pretty confident. The Wartortle snorttles as the Squirtle does the same thing as him.
Dave pages: Dave-Cinnabar Citine-Cinnabar
Mike scratches her head through her cap. "Hmm.." Well, she can assume... Jot jot jot.
Butch nods, and takes Crystal's arm in his, leading the way through the crowd towards Ollie and Jane. Jacob goes unnoticed for now, Butch's attention being elsewhere. And the donut? Eaten rather quickly.
Jett grins, this one is an easy one, too! But he's judging that his answer will be right about Mike if she still lives where she was born. Taking his first guess, he writes it down, and easily jots down his own.
Citine gulps and then guesses wherever he saw the other trainer first, "Hmm..." He mutters and then finally writes down something on his paper. The Squirtle smiles at the Wartortle and then glances up at the clock, <Uh-oh...>
Mike pages: Pallet for Jett and Saffron for me.
From afar, Jett puts the answer for the fourth question down as, 'Pallet Town' for himself, and 'Saffron City' for Mike.
Jane is scribbling furiously by now, trying to keep up.
"N... no..." Melissa stutters, glancing at Minshi. "That was me. Which... um... which one were you? What Pokemon did... did you have out?" Maybe that'll clear something up. "You weren't the one with the Ponyta, were you?" She doubts it.
<Good grief. How was Mikomi supposed to know 'that'? Wesley is rather stared at when the question is asked.. then with a sigh, the girl returns her pencil to paper and writes her own town of birth under the Mikomi column. Another set of chicken-scratch scribblings is jotted under Wesley's name, but the certainty in the strokes of the writing utensil is very low indeed.
Mikomi pages: Mikomi: Viridian, Welsey: .. uh. Pallet.
Oh, yes, it is a hard one. Welsey knows he never asked Mikomi this. He does hate guessing, but he supposes he has to in this case. He does, however, know quite easily where he was born. <A ditch!> <In a pile of manure!> blurt out both the Drowzee and the Machop simultaneously, ThoughtThief momentarily stopping his search for the Voice to insult his 'friend'. However, the Drowzee soon goes back to the search...it seems to be coming from the same direction, but with all these people and chairs, it's hard to see. He begins to waddle over, keeping close as to hear the next question. Fistfight blinks, and hurries to catch up.
Wesley pages: Mikomi's birthplace: Pewter. Wesley's birthplace: HopHop Town.
Jacob moves around the outside of the room, attempting to stay out of the way and to not draw undue attention to himself. The Rocket encounters the food booth first, so there he pauses. His voice is quiet as he speaks and questions, and then money exchanges hands. Now with a cup of something carbonated in hand, he turns back to observe the room once more.
The blonde-haired, braided girl Karin giggles at Minshi. "Don't be silly," she says to him, although doesn't look back. "We just met, but I bet you've read me perfectly!"
Karin pages: Saffron: Minshi, Viridian: Karin.
Ollie pages: Jane: Safari Zone/Fuscia. Wilson: Celadon.
"And... our final question. A little less difficult..." You can see the evil glare in Mr. Coleman's eyes. "But not by much. What is your friend's favorite color? Add your own, of course, and fold up the paper once you're finished. Don't pass it down yet, however."
Back-to-back with Jane, Oliver scribbles down another set of answers easily, and then another set of answers with a bit more trouble. Then he folds up the paper, and begins doodling on the blank side. Hrrrm.
Citine blinks and then takes a random guess and scribbles down his own also. Soon after, he folds up the paper.
"Hi there!" Crystal greets Ollie and Jane, though the greeting is directed more towards the pink haired woman.
Minshi sighs, and shakes his head. "No... I am just being stupid, don't worry about it." He says to her, still not looking up. He shakes his head slightly, "Yea, well at least one of us is confident." He frowns, then reaches down to pet Growlithe on the head. He shakes his head again, thinking, before finaly writing his answer.
The last question is answered by Karin, and folds up the paper as told, nodding to herself. "Mm-hmm," she humms. She prob'ly got them all wrong. Still, the girl looks confident.
Dave sighs as that's basically four for five that he wasn't sure of. He shrugs and steals a quick glance at what Citine is wearing. He smiles at the red hat and shrugs, scribbling a few things, folding the paper, and then waiting for further instructions.
Jane bangs her head on her clipboard at that one. That's the hardest one yet. Other than trying to remember his name, prehaps. Sighing, she just takes a wild guess at it, and jots down her own, and folds the paper up. With a bit of trouble, and finally ends up with it half crumpled. Oh well.
Mike blinks. Uh-oh. "Mmph," she grunts softly, putting a hand to her forehead to think... Um.. Uh.. Guess! After a short sigh, she jots down her answer and folds the paper.
Karin pages: Karin: Pink. Minshi: Black.
A little less difficult? Hah! Mikomi looks clueless, but is so eager to finish the quiz that she just jots down whatever colors come to mind.. for herself, and for Wesley. When she's done, she sets the pencil down and begins folding on her answer sheet. The Pikachu leans over her shoulder and makes a grab for it, but Mikomi nudges her shoulder back some and keeps it out of reach, murmuring, "No, Chuemoko, this is _my_ quiz."
Mike pages: Orange for Jett, green for me.
Citine pages: Okies, answers here: 1) Me: Squirtle, Dave: Wartortle, 2) Me: Sushi, Dave: Fish, 3) Me: 12, Dave: 18, 4) Both me and Dave: Cinnabar Island, and 5) Me: red, Dave: Blue
Jett pauses at the last answer. Uh oh. He knows his own, but he's gonna be real lucky if he can guess this one. He never talked to Mike about favorite colours, but it's not exactly something you can include in an every day conversation. He writes down his guess, based on the colour of clothing Mike's wearing.
Mikomi pages: Black for Mikomi and Wesley both.
Dave pages: Dave-Blue Citine-Red
Ollie pages: Oliver: Plaid. Jane: Red.
Butch smiles as they arrive by Ollie and Jane. "Well, didn't expect to see you here." he says to Jane. He then looks over at Ollie. "So this is where you disappeared to huh?" he asks.
The boy nods towards Butch. "I found Miss Jane," he explains. Convienent that one of the people around here doesn't have an alias. Heck, Ollie's is just his middle name. Wilson. The boy kicks his feet again. "She didn't have anyone to play with." And, well, he didn't, either.
From afar, Jett puts down his final answer as 'Blue' for himself, and 'Green' for Mike.
Jane mutters to herself about how badly she's probably flunked this test, and looks up as the others step up. She blinks a moment, and then remembers this time. If only because Ollie mentioned it before. "Howdy Brad. Who's yer lady friend?"
Kurt arrives from the street.
Kurt has arrived.
Minshi pages: Mine-Hers, Minshi-Karin, Pidgey-Growlithe, Steak-Pizza?, 16-14, Pallet-Saffron, Black-Blue
Jacob takes a drink from his cup, gaze making contact with Butch over the rim of it. His eyes do not remain on the green-haired Rocket for long, hardly a heartbeat more than he spends looking at anyone else here. He moves a few paces away from the food booth, making room for any who may come over for refreshments.
A little less difficult? Oh, you liar! Wesley sighs, then shakes his head and shrugs. Another glance at Mikomi doesn't help him much. Well, what colour do all girls like? He rights that down, going on a sexist stereotype to help him answer that question. His own answer...seems to be just as hard. ThoughtThief, meanwhile, continues to waddle towards the Voice. However, he can't resist a quip to the Machop: <black, like the colour of blindness? It's a colour you're gonna have to get used to, you being nearly dead and all...> Fistfight shakes her head, with a smirk. <Nope. But I bet yer favourite colour is black. Black like yer itty-bitty heart.>
Butch smiles as Jane remembers something. Butch however uses his real name as an alias. "Not bad Janey. This is Crystal. Think I mentioned her to you a couple of times." he says. "Crystal, this is Jane." Butch caught the eyes of the older man, and figures he'll make his way over, in time.
Wesley pages: Mikomi's favourite colour: pink. Wesley's favourite colour: grey.
"Is that all?" Mr. Coleman asks, and nods slightly. "All right! My assistant..." Immediatly, the teenage boy behind him pops out. "... will collect your papers now. Good luck to all of you - we'll announce the winners shortly."
Citine shrugs and hands the paper to the teenage boy, "So...how'd ya think we did?" He asks Dave questioningly.
Jane hands the paper off to the boy, and then turns to Crystal, blinking. If Butch did, like heck if she remembers it. So she just shrugs it off, and being her usual hick self, offers her hand for a shake. "Pu-leased ta met'cha!"
Jane pages: Jane & Wilson 1) His - Farfetch'd, Mine - Ponyta 2) His - Cereal, Mine - Beef Jerky 3) His - 13, Mine - 18 4) His - Celadon, Mine - Fushia 5) His - Red, Mine - Pink
Dave hands his paper to the young teenager and sits back, putting his arms over both sides of his chair so they extend to the backs of the chairs near him, probably touching whoever is there. He puts his right ankle onto his left knee and grins, craning his neck to Citine, "Nah great dude, but nah thrashed, ya' dig?" He smiles.
Jett takes the clipboard off his Squirtle's back, and detaches the paper to hand it to the guy who's collecting them, but before he does he finally shows the Squirtle his answers. "So Steve, think I did okay?" Steve turns around to face his trainer, <Umm... I think so, yeah!>
Ollie does not notice Jacob, at least he doesn't seem to notice the guy. He's too into doodling on the paper. Pictures of Pokemon, of course. An Oddish, a Bellsprout, a Mankey... as the teenage kid comes to take the paper, he doesn't notice him. After a moment, he realizes and hands it to him, chuckling a bit.
Daniel has disconnected.
Karin gives the kid her piece of paper, and asks Minshi, "Easy, huh?" She smiles a bit, and sighs softly. "I don't know if I got a single one right, but at least we had fun." She smiles, and crosses her legs. "I can't wait to hear the results."
Mike smiles, clipping the underside of the paper into the little clippy thing, sliding the pencil in as well before handing the whole thing to the receiver. "Here ya go." The bulbasaur groans, <Finally, jeez,> and gets to his feet, turning to glare at Mike. <You owe me big for being a table!> The trainer blinks, then smirks, winking to the bulbasaur. "Don't worry, Iggy. You'll get something nice."
Crystal shakes the profferred hand. "Nice to meet you," she says warmly. "What are you two filling out? A contest of some sort?"
Jacob appears not to have noticed Ollie or Jane, though his gaze has touched upon both of his fellow Rockets. He drinks his soda slowly, standing slightly apart from the crowd as if he was a chaperone here instead of a party goer.
Minshi sighs and folds the paper, and waits for the assistant. He hands it over when the assistant comes for it, "Well, good luck Karin." He says in a low voice, now just staring at the floor since he has nothing else to look at. He glances over at Karin then nods, "Yea, ill be lucky to have any of them right."
Oh, they're finished. Melissa scratches her head a bit, glances left, glances right, and steps forward to greet Minshi. Is she actually... being social? "I... didn't want to... distract you too much..." She says quietly, blushly fiercely. "I hope you and... and Karin..." She nods to the girl. "Do well."
Citine begins to eye the clock nervously, "Hmm...dude...I gotta go soon, I'll jus' see who wins den I'll go...sorry dere Dave. An' wat did ya say? Sorry...I don' understand ya...dat's all."
Jane gives the hand a good hearty country shake before letting go. "Some sorta quiz thinger, Ah reckon," she replies with a shrug, and glances around. "Ya all don't happen to see where muh Mime went, did ya?"
Jett has reconnected.
Wesley slips his paper/clipboard ensemble to the teenage boy, almost as if grateful to get rid of it. He's pretty sure he did...badly. However, this is a boy who doesn't care much about losing - well, /too/ much about losing, at any rate. Also, he vaguely remembers he has something to be mad about...but what? Well, he'll think of it soon enough. Fistfight and ThoughtThief, meanwhile, are getting closer and closer to Melissa as she speaks, relying on the Drowzee's hearing until even Fistfight is close enough to hear her.
Over in the corner, Mr. Coleman and his quiet little assistant are busy tallying up this, and adding that, and Mr. Coleman scratches his head a bit. "What do you *mean*? You must've added it wrong." Looks like Mr. Coleman isn't such a nice guy in reality. How cruel. Tally, tally, check. "... well, you're right." Wonder what they're talking about?
Dave grins and nods and glances to the clock. "Ah, geeze, I think I got'ta go soon too." He sighs and stands, "Like, I think we did 'kay, tha' better?" He smiles, motioning to Wt that the time is getting late. The Wartortle nods in understanding. This isn't like him to leave a party early, but he has a photo shoot in the morning and needs to look his best.
Butch nods. "Yeah. He went over by the food." he tells Jane, pointing towards an area near Jacob. He then looks thoughtful. "Heard from your sister lately Jane?" he asks.
Jett waits paitently in his chair with his Squirtle on his lap, to see who the winner of the contest will be, doubting if it would be him and Mike, but he overhears Mr. Colemon and his assistant as they tally up the answers. "Hey, is something wrong over there?" he calls over, curious. "What's going on?"
Citine sighs and glances down at his watch. Quickly, the trainer hoists the turtle pokemon onto his arm and quickly waves to the people there, especially Dave, "Ack, sorry, but I gotta gosee ya round, 'kay buddy?" Citine waves and then quickly heads out of the door, leaving behind the party, "Sorrypromised someone I'd meet 'em!" He calls out and leaves behind the great party. Ollie glances over at Butch and Jane as they talk, quietly waiting for the results with his arms crossed in his lap. His face looks mostly blank as he thinks, even though he has had a bit of fun.
Citine has disconnected.
Actually, she's got an idea that Jett did better than she did. How embarassing... Iggy yawns, then peers over at the person next to him and his trainer, eyeing his pocket. <Hmm...> Jane shakes her head. "Naut fer a while. Ah thin' she went wanderin' agin'." She smirks a bit, proudly. "Ah thin' she darn gut jealous Ah had more pok'mon then her fer once!" Nevermind Annie's few pokemon being much better trained.
Jacob nurses his soda, turning his head to watch Citine leave. Once the trainer is gone, the elder Rocket goes back to people-watching those who remain.
Well, if that's the way it is, so be it. "Can I have your attention, please?" Mr. Coleman announces, glancing down at the paper nervously. "We have... a three way tie." He answers for Jett, giving him a little wink. Was he one of the tiers? "Will the following pairs please step forward for a tie breaker round?" He clears his throat, and glances back down. "Dave and Citine. Jett and Mike. Wilson and Jane." Apparently, he doesn't even bother with the last names. It's a shame Citine had to just vanish.
Minshi looks at Melissa again, and sighs shaking his head, "Thanks, I guess." He says, sighing. "Sorry about... before." He says again to Melissa, dropping his hand to pet the Growlithe. He looks at Mike and Jett, "Wonder how well they did..." He asks himself, before looking to Coleman. "Well, they did better then us it seems."
Dave looks up, "Wha', three way tie, like, sweet!" He grins and beams, though he is eager to get on his way and it shows with his hands fidgiting. "Like, I can give Citine's to him!" He chuckles.
"About... before?" Melissa asks quietly, adjusting her glasses. "What... what did you do? Did you... hum." No, obviously, this boy doesn't own the beautiful silver Ponyta. What a big let down. Aww! Anyway, Wesley's Pokemon are inching closer...
Karin grins. "I'm sure we were in a close second," she says, winking. She spins around towards him. "So, what was your favourite colour? Mine's Pink." She smiles, remembering the last question. She looks over to Melissa. "And who's your friend?"
Jane blinks, and nudges Ollie.. err Wilson. Whoo, that means she did get his 'name' right after all. "Com'n boy, they's needin' us again."
Mike blinks, peering up as her and Jett's names are called. "Huh? What? Oh!" The bulbasaur grins, carefully trying to get his vine into the neighbor's pocket, but he's interrupted by his trainer's up and moving. <Hey! I wasn't done!> he yells, quickly retracting his vine.
Jett blinks, "Wow, we actually tied?" He turns to Mike still grinning, "Cool, you must have done great, Mike!" He gets up from the chair and scoops his Squirtle back in his arms, following after her as she moves.
Ollie blinks. "What do you think that means?" he asks, getting up, the idea of being in the tie not occuring to him. "What's your favourite food? I had no idea..." he says, walking beside her. As they get closer to being alone up in front, he blinks back towards Mike and Jett. "Hey, I know those trainers," he says to Jane and himself.
Jacob smiles as one of the pairs of names is read, but before the expression forms on his lips, the man's cup is up to them again, blocking the expression. His index finger taps slowly against his cane as he waits.
Butch snickers. "Yeah? It's a shame she isn't around more often." he tells her. "Y'know, if you two have to perform this contest...heck, we might as well let the guy runnin it we're here." explains Butch, looking towards Coleman. "C'mon Crys." he says, tugging on his girlfriend's arm. "Good luck you two!"
Mr. Coleman looks down his card. Uh oh. Apparently, they hadn't anticipated a tie-breaker round. I mean, what were the odds? He's got to think up something quick. "If the six of you..." Well, he assumes both partners from all three pairs will come up. "Will please sit down, my assistant will pass out the items." Meanwhile, Mr. Coleman has to think up a question. Um. Lack of preparation stinks.
Crystal leans against Butch slightly as she looks around. "Where to?" she asks as she gets tugged elsewhere. "And what're we doing now? Not that I mind, though. Good luck, you two!"
Dave laughs and grins, "Ahh, I git it, like, well, guess I'm disqualified, tha's cool though, ya' four 'ave good luck!" He waves and in a minute disappears into the crowd, Wartortle in tow.
Minshi sighs and gives up trying to talk to Melissa. "I guess this will sound stupid, but it appears she does not know me." Minshi replies to Karin, "Oh I guessed blue, because of the ribbons in your hair. Black..."
Dave has disconnected.
Wesley begins to look around. He doesn't really mind that he lost, since he doesn't know Mikomi that well anyway. And if a certain bubbly lady hadn't mentioned marriage....well, he could have gone back to stewing about how much he hates it here. Except...well, he doesn't hate it as much as he used to. Odd, that. He looks around for Fistfight and ThoughtThief, dismayed to..not see them. Sigh. It's bad enough they Hypnotized him and dragged him half the way to Saffron for the stupid festival...Meanwhile, those Pokemon finally see Melissa..or, her back. <Is it?> Fistfight hisses to ThoughtThief. <Why don't we go ask?> ThoughtThief says, with a chuckle. The two walk up to her, and begin to greet her...rather loudly and wildly. <Hey, lady, glasses, you, is it you?! Huh? C'mon! Our Trainer needs tah see you!!>
Butch points at Coleman. "To him. We should tell him we're present." he explains, pulling Crystal towards the old man. "Hey, sir! Sir!" he says rather loudly, trying to get Coleman's attention.
"Sideshow, get yer mits 'way from the snacks an' leave some fer the oth'r train'rs," Jane snaps at her mime, who promptly turns and walks away from the table with his hands behind his back, pretending to be whistling. With a snort she sits down, hoping this goaround won't be so difficult.
Mike heads over to the area indicated, and sits down quietly, peering around nervously while Mr. Coleman gets situated. Ohh boy.. The bulbasaur in her lap is scowling right now, until he glares over his shoulder. <I'd better not have to be a table again! Jeez..>
Karin blinks, clasping her hands together. "Blue is my second-favourite. Pink is my favourite!" she tells the boy. She giggles. "Black? It's really black? I got that one right!" Probably the only one she got right. "You're just a black kinda guy," she explains, nodding sagely. "Uh-oh, I wonder what will happen," she says, turning to the stage and quieting up.
Mr. Coleman decides upon a good question. The assistant practically *flings* the stuff at the people. The man holds up one finger, waiting for Butch to wait juuust a moment. "What is your friend's last name? Include your own, of course." That wasn't a very good one, was it? Anyway. While the pairs ponder that, Shiny Teeth boy turns to Brad. "Yes, sir?"
Melissa smiles warmly. "I would have guessed your favorite color as... as pink. And..." She glances at Minshi. "You, perhaps grey." She's so formal, but she's not unkind at least. "I..." And then she is greeted by two little Pokemon. "Oh. Hey, little guys!"
Crystal eeps as she's dragged towards Mr. Coleman, then chuckles softly. "We're last year's King and Queen of Friendship Day," she replies.
Jett stops and nods to Mr. Coleman as he is told to sit back down. "Okay." he replies, spotting Dave as he calls out, and waves to him as he goes out. So now it looks like now he and Mike are now tied against - Jane and Wilson? "Wow, hi Wilson! Good luck with the quiz, okay man? You too, Jane!" He takes his seat near Mike, and takes the paper again, stumping on the question. He scribbles down as he remembers something.
Minshi sighs at Karin's comment and pull his cap farther down. He seems bothered now that the questions have ended. He glances to where Mike and Jett have sat down, "I hope they win." He says, before looking down at growlithe. "Oh..." is all he can manage to say to Melissa, while rubbing his shoulder.
Jane just twitchs a few times at that one. The heck?! Granted, she knows -a- last name for him. But is that his real last name, or juse his fake last name. She, once again, thuds her head on her board. Maybe it helps her think. Sideshow winces a bit.
Mike blinks, grabbing for the stuff, nearly dropping it numerous times. Upon getting organized, she hears the question, and grins. Ooh! Scribble scribble.
Mike pages: Buis for me. Taylor for Jett.
From afar, Jett puts his answers as 'Taylor' for himself, and 'Buis' for Mike.
Ollie writes down his last name, and then coughs at it. Wait, no, that's not right. "Er, could I have another piece of paper?" he asks, violentally scribbling out one answer. Funny that he got his own last name wrong. To say nothing about Jane's.
Butch nods. "What she said. Thought you might need us for presenting later." explains the green-haired young man, as his 'King of Friendship Day' necklance hangs around his neck.
A Katerwaul slinks closer, bright eyes all ablaze ... so whisper a prayer and start that save! (Saving)
"Choooop!" yelps Fistfight in ectasy, hopping from foot to foot. Remember how she was acting like an old grandmother last night? Not anymore! <It's her...we gotta go...oh, what if our boy messes up again..oh, dangit, so worried..but, they gotta, go, meet...!> she manages to squeak out in nervous excitement. ThoughtThief chuckles, but still looks somewhat nervous. <C'mon, you keep her here, I'll call him over.> With that, the Drowzee bounds into the crowd, trotting on all four legs and using his trunk to sniff out Wesley, who has gotten up and is moving around. Fistfight, meanwhile, gazes up at Melissa nervously, but smiling an odd little smile. What, there are other people near Melissa? She wouldn't notice them!
"Oh, you are?" Mr. Coleman points towards a very serious looking woman near the stage. "I think that she could probably help you. If not, she'll tell you someone who can." Maybe Karin... well, anyway. "So, are we all done?" Whispering to his assistant, he quickly says, "Hurry, we've used enough time. Collect 'em up." And he does, practically snatching the papers out of the peoples' hands. All except for Ollie. The teenager flinches, and looks at Mr. Coleman. "He wants another sheet of paper, sir." Mr. Coleman sighs (though still smiles. How does he do that?) and pulls a rumpled receipt from a grocery store. "Tell him to write on this." He says, handing the crumpled thing to Ollie. Okay, this is weird.
Ollie pages: Wilson Litzner, Jane Oakley. Gosh, I wonder if I got that right. That's the hardest one so far.
Jane grunts, and just scribbles something down. If it's not the right one to use, his answer will contradict her, right? This is why she doesn't bother with an alias unless she really has to. Buch easier on the mind.
Melissa just blinks. And blinks. And blinks.
Ollie scribbles his down, too. Oliver's a runaway, of course he wants to keep a low profile. In any case, he gets it and gives it to him.
Jane pages: His - Watcher, Mine - Oakley
Mike makes a rather high-pitched sigh, bouncing nervously in her seat. Iggy grumbles jerkily, bouncing as well. <Stop-p it!>
Dylan arrives from the street.
Dylan has arrived.
Dylan strolls in, deciding to give this crap another chance. -I can do this- he thinks, and he shows -I can't do this!-. "Friggin' celebrations... ain't knowing no one... mom being all pushy to go..."
Jett hands the piece of paper to the assistant, and sighs in relief. Steve squirms around in his lap as he and his trainer wait along with Mike and Iggy to see what the results are, wigggling his little Squirtle-curled tail around as he does. "Keep still, Stevie." Jett tells him.
Pop! The receipt is already out of Ollie's hands. "Who won, who won?!" Mr. Coleman asks, glancing at the papers. "Wrong!" He rudely throughs the paper aside. "Wrong!" Toss! "Right. Annnd... right. Okay, we have our winners!" The assistant just watches. "Go get the prizes." Apparently, Mister Brush-Your-Teeth is at his wits end. "The winners are..." Drum roll, please. One of the audience members bites her nails. "Jett and Mike! C'mon down, you two, and take your prizes!" Buff. How unprofessional.
"Ow...stoppit...ow!" comes the annoyed orders and exclamations of pain from one Wesley Brier. As he comes, rather jerkily through the crowd, it appears he's being shoved by something. Most likely, from the pudgy yellow and brown figure one can vaguely see from behind him, ThoughtThief. Fistfight, meanwhile, glances away from Melissa, and finally sees (as will Melissa unless she's turned to talk to Minshi again) the pale-haired, galoshes-wearing Wesley Brier emerge from the crowd. And her little heart goes pitterpatter with anxiety. Let's hope he remembers their little lesson about tact.
Minshi sighs and glances up at Mike and Jett again, before turning to look at the floor. "Congrats..." He says for his friends, not really talking to Karin, finding himself with nothing left to say.
Dylan sighs, grabbing a Pokeball. "I ain't doing this alone. Come out, Spiney!" Throwing the ball produces a Nidoran Male. "Ni? Nido? Nidoran?" <Huh? What? Where?> Dyaln grins. "We're at friendship day, without a friend. Sounds fun doesn't it?" Spiney sighs. "Ni... nido..." <Can't Pupster take this one?>
Jacob finishes up his drink, moving further from the food booth to find a place to throw it away. He doesn't bother returning to his watching spot; one place is just about as good as another. Other than his finger tapping against his cane, he remains still and quiet.
Crystal nods, turning to look for Mr. Coleman's assistant. "There she is," she exclaims and tugs on Butch's arm. "Let's go introduce ourselves, shall we?" With a grin, the blue-haired Trainer continues to tug her boyfriend towards the stage.
"What's wrong?" Karin asks Minshi, her eyes softening a bit as she talks to the kid. Well, the kid that's as old as she is. "Aren't you having any fun?" She bites her lip, still giving a slight smile.
Jett gasps a bit in surprise, "What, we won?!?" Steve jumps up, <Yay, we won Jetty!> he squeals. "Pipe down, Steve..." Jett chuckles, getting up quickly. "I can't believe it! C'mon Mike, let's go see what we won!" he grins, standing by her chair.
Jane darnits, but claps for the two that did win, since she knows Mike. Sorta. Sideshow claps too, but makes no sound in doing it. Darn Mimes.
Too busy watching to see who won, Melissa is simply too absorbed to notice Wesley whatsoever. She grins broadly - it's good that... uh... 'Jett' and... 'Mike'... won. The girl claps briefly, a little more interested in seeing what they won.
Mike blinks, perking suddenly in surprise as their names are called. "Whaa--" she squeaks, peering around, almost expecting someone else to stand. "Uhh.. hey! Alright!" Cheeks tinted red, and reaching up to adjust her cap, Mike stands, bulbasaur in arm, and heads over to where she's supposted to -- waiting for Jett, of course. <Yea! Something cool!>
Noel leaves through the main door.
Noel has left.
Butch is tugged, and is pulled along by Crystal towards said assistant. "Right, right. Gotcha." he says, looking towards the winner's area. "Pardon us miss. We're the king and queen from last year." he explains to the assistant.
Ollie chuckles. "Great job, Miss Mike, Mister Jett," he tells them, calling out for the first time tonight. He leans over to Jane. "Wilson Litzner," he quietly says, knowing she prob'ly won't remember, anyway.
Jane blinks at Ollie, and mutters something about people having too many names in this organization. "And ya all wonder why Ah donna both'r none with fake names," she mutters back.
Minshi shakes his head, stopping the petting he is giving Growlithe. "I am sorry Karin." He says slightly downcast. "I... I probably should not have bothered to have come. Besides, who would want to be friends with me any ways?" He asks, touching his cap as he says that, thinking about his wound underneath. "No... I guess I am lonely or something."
Dylan sighs and finds a place to sit down. Spiney leaps up onto his lap for petting. <Hey, don't be so down, I love ya, don't be so glum!> Dylan sighs. "I still get 'You're too old for Pokemon catching' blah blah blah..."
The woman with the giant glasses just kind of looks at Butch and Crystal. "Huh? Oh, right." She doesn't look like she's having fun. "Go find... err..." She looks down at a sheet of paper. "Karin Valentine, she'll take care of everything." The woman isn't exactly 'rude', just kinda... ugh. Meanwhile, the assistant lugs back two cute adorable plushies - there's a Charmander one, and a Pikachu one. "Take your pick, you two! You can have a lovely Charmander or a... a..." What's that thing called? "Packachu!" Well, he's kind of close.
Karin looks towards Minshi with her soft, large eyes. "Don't be silly," she says again. "You're really fun and a great guy." She smiles warmly. "You just need to have more confidence in yourself." She tffts a little. "You know them?" she asks, nodding towards Jett and Mike.
Mike blinks, reaching up to scratch the back of her head as she looks between the dolls. "Pikachu," she mutters softly to the guy. "It's a pikachu. Uh.. well.. You can pick first, Jett." The bulbasaur eyes the two plushes, then grunts. <Don't get the fire-lizard, Mike! Yuck.>
Jane, of course, goes completely girlie eyed upon seeing the plushie prizes. "Aren't those just -cuuuuute-?!" She may be a hick, but she's still a ditz. Sideshow rolls his eyes.
Wesley glares down at his Drowzee, who smiles ingratiatingly back up at him. And, folks, it's just plain weird to see a Drowzee smile. It just looks odd. Wesley, however, also looks over to see who won and what they won. Hmm...the name Jett sounds familiar, doesn't it? And, oh, look, stuffed Pokemon. How totally uninteresting! Fistfight and ThoughtThief look at each other and sigh. It's so /hard/ trying to get these kids together! Eventually, ThoughtThief pokes Wesley and motions to Melissa. The poor boy glares at his Drowzee, then follows his Drowzee's paw and sees...erk! Oh...yeah. Now he remembers both why he didn't want to come...and why he was convinced to come in the first place. Emotions..so...confusing!
Ollie rubs the back of his head. "Well, I..." he begins, but is cut-off as Jane sees the plush animals. The boy chuckles lightly. "Yeah, that they are, Miss Jane," he answers. He still hasn't noticed Jacob, oddly enough.
Jett walks up to the assistant after Mike does, and takes a look over the prizes. "Dolls?" he thinks. He looks at Mike as she offers for him to pick first, and smiles, shaking his head, "Uh, nah, that's real generous of you Mike, but I don't go much for dolls, so you have both of 'em!" he offers, grinning.
Clueless ol' Melissa, however, doesn't notice Wesley, no sir. All she notices is a lovely Charmander doll, and a... uh, Packachu doll, and... a Drowzee prodding her. "Ow!" She squeaks, then glances down at the Drowzee. "Is something wrong?"
Jacob is doing as little as possible to be noticed by anyone. The Rocket is here to watch, not to be a part of the festivities.
Minshi nods slightly, "Yea, though they havent noticed me luckily." He says, once again adjusting his headgear. "Yea sure, I may be a great guy. That doesn't mean anything though." He bites his lip slightly, shaking his head.
The woman gestures in Karin's direction, so Crystal and Butch can have a better clue of where to go. "She's somewhere over there. Probably watching the..." She resists the urge to roll her eyes. "Fun-filled quiz." Mr. Coleman just keeps grinning. "So, you want both, eh, Jett?" He asks, taking the little plushies and offering them to Mike. "You and Mike did a fine job." Somebody's a little confused here.
Butch nods to the glasses-wearing woman, and begins pulling Crystal in Karin's direction. "Alright. Thanks." he tells the assistant. And so they go, headed towards the breeder.
Crystal gives a confused glance to Butch over her shoulder. "Okay... time to look for a Miss Valentine," she comments before getting tugged towards their goal.
Karin smiles sympathetically. "Something is wrong, and ya don't hafta tell me," she says, really wanting to help the guy. Loneliness is her archenemy. "But if I can do anything, anything to help, tell me." She gives a smile and a wink. "I'm an expert in these areas." Her hyperactivity, for the moment, is subdued. Then she hears her name and sees some trainers coming towards her. She looks up, blinking. "May I help you?" the girl asks.
See..she doesn't even notice poor Wesley. No way she'd want to be friends with him. At least, that's the conclusion Wesley reaches as his eyes wander from his boots, to the room, to the decorations, and eventually risking a glance at Melissa to see her reaction to his presence. After all, she might have looked really angry and mad and scary and...oh, he doesn't need friends! He's never needed them! Fistfight notes her Trainer's clenched jaw, the only real sign other than his shifty eyes that he's forming that resolution. She and ThoughtThief both /poke/ Melissa and motion to Wesley. Think she might see him now?
Mike blinks, peering over at Jett with eyebrows raised. "Really??" As Mr. Coleman holds them out to her, she grins broadly, gently putting the pouting bulbasaur down so she can take the plushies. "Aw gee, Jett. Thanks! Man, I owe ya!" She holds the dolls close and looks over to Coleman and his assistant. "And thanks to you too."
"Ow!" Melissa mumbles as she gets poked. Really, she didn't know Drowzee and Machop had a 'Poke' attack. "Okay, you two, you c..." And then, it hits her. "Hey, Wesley owns..." And then she looks to where the Pokemon are gesturing. It's... it's Wesley! Oh. Um, er. "H... hey, Wesley!" She's blushing severely.
Minshi sighs and stands up, walking away silently from Karin. Growlithe falls behind Minshi, as the trainer goes back, once again, to the loneliest spot in the room. He sits down again and then begins to pet Growlithe when he lays down.
Charmander Plush has left.
Pikachu Plush has left.
Jacob drifts over towards Minshi, one of the few other people outside the crowd of party-goers. "Evening," he greets the trainer, voice just loud enough to be heard over the music. "Happy Friendship Day," he says, half-inclining his head as he speaks.
Minshi shrugs slightly, "Sure, I guess. You too, happy friendship day." He says, looking to see if he can spot Mike and Jett in the croud.
Jett nods to Mr. Coleman, "Yeah, thanks!" He smiles and turns to Mike, "Sure, you're welcome! And hey, you don't owe me! Seeing you happy with those plushies is good enough for me." he smiles, eyeing the prizes. "It's just a good thing that you and I are good friends, huh?" Steve squeals, <Wow, are those real?> he wonders, looking up at Mike's new novelty dolls.
Ollie is pretty oblivious to most of what's going on, but he's noted the stalling of things, too. "Well, I wonder when they'll figure out who is the new Queen and King," he muses aloud, looking across the crowd.
Mr. Coleman grins broadly, now making his way over to the free food table. Talking makes him hungry. Giving quizzes makes him hungry. Heck, smiling makes him hungry. And you can get that, even though he'll eat a ton, his teeth will stay obnoxiously white.
Jacob remains quiet, scanning the crowd as well. Minshi seems not to want to talk, so Jacob does not push it. Moments pass before the Rocket speaks again. "Got the time?" He makes the request of the trainer without looking at him.
Okay, she noticed him! And...wait, is that a good thing? Wesley's normally straight shoulders sag, and he crosses his arms against his chest - not a symbol of anger, since he looks nervous, not angry, but an unconcious sign of vulnerability. His Pokemon told him he should be nice, kind, and think about what made her mad last night. Well, he had a whole lot of arguments and apologies planned, and now they all seem to have fled. Fistfight and ThoughtThief retreat to the 'sidelines', knowing they shouldn't interfere. The boy's on his own, as much as they hate it. "Ah...hi, Melissa," is what he comes up with. Brilliant starter.
Butch nods to Karin. "We're last year's King and Queen." he explains, indicating their necklaces. "Figured you'd need us whenever presentations are happening." he tells her, giving a polite smile.
Dylan has disconnected.
Mike smiles and nods, hugging the dolls close, "Yeah. Hey, how about we grab some drinks? C'mon Iggy." She begins to make her way off the stage, or whatever they're on, bulbasaur at her heels. <Bleh. I was hoping for a nice snack or something..> "Hold your ponytas, Iggy." Karin narrows her eyes. "Oh, you think you can get away that easily?" She asks, raising her eyebrow. Then someone walks over to him, looking as lonely as him. Sadly, it's a guy, but she's distracted. There's a Butch and Crystal talking to her. "Ah, right," she says. "We're moving onto that now, actually, come with me," she says, walking towards the stage. "What are your names, again?" she asks, keeping one eye on Minshi and another eye on everyone else in the crowd.
It's been a while that Mikomi has been wandering around the room, sort of envelopped in the whole of Friendship Day, and entirely having lost where Wesley or any of the others she knew had disappeared. The Pikachu had gotten hungry, so the two had progressed to the food table where the yellow rodent had taken Mikomi's share of the food and begun to gobble it up, only for Mikomi to become worried that he's going to launch into everyone else's shares, too, shortly thereafter. With cheeks bulging, he's scooped back up and the two head back into the crowd, searching for the faces of more friends in order to greet and share tides of friendship with on this most appropriate day.
Mother Nature has arrived.
"Brad and Crystal," the blue-haired Trainer replies smoothly. "C'mon, hon, let's follow her to the stage."
Minshi shakes his head, "No... I do not keep a watch with me usualy. I left it at home." He looks at Karin, before looking down at his growlithe. He falls into silence again, this time not bothering to try and spot his friends.
Butch nods and begins walking, arm around his girlfriend's waist. "Alright. After you." says the gravelly-voiced Rocket.
Yes, absolutely brilliant, Wesley. Melissa just smiles a little bit at Wesley, and then turns to face the winners. Okay, maybe this *does* call for maybe just a *little* interference on the parts of ThoughtThief and FistFight...
Jett nods, "Yeah, sounds good. Let's go." he smiles, following after Mike. He gathers Steve up in his arms and asks, "What would you like for a drink, buddy?" he asks his Squirtle. Steve thinks, <Um, soda?> he asks. "Oh... alright. But just this once." His trainer replies, trailing along after Mike and Iggy.
Jane thinks for a few moments while waiting for the party to get rolling again, and as a particular thought crosses her mind, she looks to Ollie. "Whut the heck town are ya from, anyways? Ah had no clue whutsoev'r t' thet one."
A boy runs into the hall, hair mussed and out of breath. "Am- *huff*huff* Am I late?" he asks anyone, looking around wide-eyed at everyone and everything. "Whoa!" he exclaims softly, grinning. "Thought I'd miss it!" He runs his hands through his hair (cool-like) and moves to join the group doing... eh, watching... whatever they're doing.
Mike smiles and nods, tucking one of the dolls under her arm so she can grab a bit of punch. "Hmm.." she breathes, taking a sip. A big sip. "What was your favorite color anyway?" she asks, peering over at Jett before taking another sip.
Crystal nods and steps up onto the stage to follow Karin.
Mikomi is wandering alone at this point, and finding no one familiar to be around in sharing this Friendship Day. Too bad Dodger didn't come by like he had suggested he would. The girl sighs a little, not necessarily out of moping or depression as much as she is because her Pikachu is squirming again and whining about wanting to go back to the food table. When the boy rushes in, he's not all that far from where the girl walks, and she steps nearer to him in order to say, "There was a friendship contest, but things are still going on, you haven't missed too much," in a friendly tone.
Jacob nods to Minshi's reply. He lingers a moment longer, then turns and heads for the door, cane in his left hand and right hand in his pocket, keying something into something unseen. He makes his exit as quietly as he arrived.
Jacob goes home.
Jacob has left.
Jett looks among the drinks, and takes a cup of punch, giving some to his Squirtle first. "Um, it's blue. Like the sky, the sea, or like littl' Steve here." he grins, taking the punch and sipping it for himself. After he does, he smiles at Mike, "What's your favorite colour?"
Up on the stage Karin goes. "Alright," she says, gaining everyone who's left's attention. "Things are cooling down, but there's one last thing left. Brad and Crystal," she says, gesturing towards the couple. "Are needing to crown this year's King and Queen of Friendship day." The girl grins, and waits a moment. "And everyone will get to vote for the friends! But we need a few volunteers," she says. "Are there any pairs of friends who would like to c'mon up here." Her eyes go to Jett/Mike, then to Ollie and Jane, Melissa and Wesley, and finally to Mikomi and Minshi and the few others alone.
Oliver grins towards Jane. "Well," he says, "Saffron or Celadon woulda worked, I was born in one city, but eh, lived in the other," he says, rubbing the back of his head.
The new trainer grins at Mikomi. "Cool!" He heads for the food as well, helping himself to as much as he can carry. "Thought I'd miss everything! Took a wrong turn on the way here. Had to run. Darned fog!" He mmmms. "Cookies!"
Okay...she stopped noticing him! While shrinking into ones boots is a pretty much impossible task, Wesley looks like he's going to do so at any second. He's going to make a vow here and now: He doesn't need friends, he doesn't like friends..in fact, he doesn't like people! He's going to devote the rest of his time and energy into Training Pokemon. Fistfight and ThoughtThief sigh, like their Trainer, barely listening to the prattle on the microphone, or the fact that Karin's eyes are traveling Wesley's way. <That's it, I'm gonna--> Fistfight begins, but is cut off by ThoughtThief. <Nuh uh uuuuuh..> he smirks, getting a bit of a kick out of this. This time, Wes can't think of a thing to say.
"Well, ya put th' wrong one, then, cuz Ah did put Celadon. Guessin' mind ya, cuz Ah had nawt a clue at a--Hey!" Not needing to be told twice, or even once as it may be, Jane grabs Ollie's hand and tries to drag him to the stage. "Com'n, they's startin' th' next contest!" Does she have any idea what the contest is? Probably not. Does she care? Probably not either, she's just having fun. Even if that last contest was more like school for some reason.
Butch nods and smiles at the crowd as he stands up on stage by Crystal. His arms's still around her, and he's looking over the crowd hoping someone steps up. It'd be odd to have a friendship day without friends. Right?
Mike blinks, then grins, tilting her head back. "Oh yeah! That was my first guess." She smiles, reaching down to touch her shirt with her cup. "Thicket Green. Best color there is!" As Karin gets up on stage and begins to speak, the trainer's attention goes to her. "Hmm.." Another sip.
Minshi sighs and shakes his head as he is once again left alone. He looks up as Karin talks, then smiles slightly. "I hope Mike will..." He says to himself, then sighs and taps the cap hiding his face. "Oh well, at least its not like we are going up there, right?" He sighs slightly, watching the stage some of the time, or otherwise staring at the floor.
Hey, and Melissa notices him again. "Wesley... I..." She glances back at the crowd, with a little sigh. "There's too... um... too many people." She adjusts her glasses. As usual. "I'll... maybe I'll see you tommorow? Here, or at Cerulean, or at... at Pewter?" Well, she wants to see him again. And that's a good sign. Taking a couple of steps towards the door, the girl waits for the younger boy's reply. Her right hand still clutches the small book.
The new boy gets cookies, and Chuemoko doesn't? What a travesty! A great injustice! The Pikachu isn't about to stand for that. He inhales deeply, sets a determined expression on his fuzzy features.. and lets out a plaintive whine, right in Mikomi's ear. "Okay, okay, shhhhhhhh," the girl retorts in a hushed manner, and quite quickly at that, not wanting to disturb anyone with her rather obnoxious, pampered beast. Steps take her to the food table and she lets him back down to snatch a few cookies, though a careful eye is kept on the Pikachu to make sure he doesn't take too many. Friendship day was about sharing, not about stealing everyone's food for yourself. "I think there's still more to come," she comments offhandedly to the newly arrived boy, who still isn't too far away. The Pikachu mutters something with a mouthful of cookie, sounding much like, "Pithkath!" which Mikomi chuckles to and passes along. "He says the chocolate ones are the best," she relates to the new boy who just arrived.
Oliver sweatdrops as he's pulled along. Apparently, they're the first and only 'couple' up on stage. He chuckles and nods at Jane when he regains his bearings. "Heh," he says with a nod. "Most fun I've had in a while..." his voice dies down a bit. "Ileah would've liked this," he mutters quietly. He smiles.. he'll have fun for her, eh?
The new (and late) trainer heads back towards the group with his armful of snacks. "Mmm, I'm gonna munch dow-- Huh?" He glances to his side and then chuckles as one of his pokeballs pops open on its own. "You hungry too, Halloween?" he chuckles. Minshi is passed by as the boy heads for the rest of the crowd. <Gasssstly!> his pokemon answers with wordless laughter as the undead pokemon becomes visible.
Crystal wraps her arm around Butch's waist as well, giving him a quick one-armed hug. She looks to be quite happy with her 'king'.
Jett blinks, "Oh wow, really? That's what I first guessed, too! Green!" he grins. He looks up at the stage, noticing Mike's listening too, and shrugs a little, "You didn't wanna... uh, go up there, like, together, did you?" he nervously asks, blushing slightly. "Like, as... you know, a couple or whatever to volunteer..." he trails off, giving his Squirtle some more punch as he fidgets.
Wesley looks back at Melissa, blinking and looking as brainless as a fish. Did she..just..speak to him? About..meeting him?! Oh..this is so, so...good? It should be good, right? Or could it be the death sentence of their fledling friendship? Wesley eventually realizes he has facial muscles, and nods. "Yes...thank you, that would be...yes, I'd like to meet you sometime..Pewter, maybe?" All their good times seem to have been in Pewter. Fistfight and ThoughtThief, meanwhile, chuckle, talk, predict gloomily, and just basically chatter. Butch is of course happy with his Queen. As he gets the hug, he smiles a bit more warmly, and just continues his calm wait for someone to move towards the stage. "Shoot. What's a friendship day without friends out there." he observes, commenting to Crystal.
A Katerwaul slinks closer, bright eyes all ablaze ... so whisper a prayer and start that save! (Saving)
"I'll... be... spending the night here. I... um..." Melissa stutters a bit, her face reddening more and more. "I... may... sightsee in Cerulean, too. But if... I... don't see you there, I'll... I hope to see you in Pewter." Okay, she screwed everything up. She stuttered, she made it sound almost like she wanted it her way, and... eff. Quickly making her way towards the exit, Melissa has a little difficulty diffusing through the crowd, but she makes it. Good for her. Upon approaching the exit, she looks back, and, with a little sigh, steps out into the night.
Melissa leaves through the main door.
Melissa has left.
"Everyone has friends," Crystal replies softly, though her voice my carry. "Even some that we aren't aware of directly."
Butch nods. "Just this crowd looks so lonely." he replies, in the softest voice he can manage, which isn't too soft.
Mike peers over at the stage, drumming her fingertips on the cup. "Um.. I dunno. If you want to, I'll go." She blinks at the trainer with the gastly, and eyes the pokemon with interest. "Hmm.." Good thing Minshi isn't here. Or so she thinks.
"Yeah, com'n, we don't wanna win b'cuse no one else was darin' 'nuff to come up here," Jane chips in helpfully. Or at least she thinks it's helpful. Sideshow sighs and facepalms. <That girl has no idea what she is doing. Granted, of course, that is completely normal for her, but still.>
Dylan has connected.
Dylan re-enters the party, a Nidoran male on his lap.
Dylan chooses a Nidoran(M)!
Spiney has arrived.
Karin looks back to Butch, and at the few around them. Ollie and Jane are the only ones up there. She nods at the guy. "I don't know what else to do," she sighs, her eyes going down to the floor. She turns around and says brightly, "C'mon! There's plenty of room up here!" At this point, though, it's an act. She's worried no one will come up.
And suddenly, Wesley is spotted. Mikomi pushes through the crowd, dragging Chuemoko along despite his want of pastry deserts. "Hey Wesley!" she calls to him in a hushed tone. She doesn't see Melissa, or.. Melissa, leave.. and continues to gain ground on his location, smiling pleasantly.
Minshi jumps up when he sees the Gastly and presses himself up against the wall as if trying to get away from it. He moves towards the stage to get away from it, his head spinning. He opens his mouth slightly, "Urk..." He mumbles, feeling confused, before tripping and falling onto to stage in a sitting position, staring at the Gastly. Growlithe noticing his trainer's uneasy stands between the ghost and Minshi, growling. Minshi just sits on the stage, staring at the ghost, shaking slightly.
Wesley stares, as his reason for coming to the whole Festival just leaves. He looks around the area and realizes...well, he has no idea what's happening. Why are there people up on stage? What are they doing? Why are they talking? Who's doing what, why, when and how? Did someone call his name? Should he check? He yawns, and, with typical childness abruptness, decides to leave. Pokeon training to do tomorrow! Of course...he'll also have to figure out a way to meet Melissa too. Maybe people..aren't all that bad. He turns to leave, Fistfight and ThoughtThief following, talking animatedly and pointedly at each other, saying phrases such as <idiot psychic> and <foolish fighter!> Poor Mikomi will just have to find another friend to be with for the rest of the festival. Maybe they can compare their answers on the friendship quiz when they next meet!
Wesley has disconnected.
Ollie's hand grazes over his Pokeballs, hehing softly. Then Minshi comes up on stage with the ghost. All he can stutter out is, "Mister Minshi!" Ah, yes, Ollie is the master of words.
The boy pays attention to what's going on at the front of the room, while his Gastly grins at the crowd. When he spots the growling Growlithe, the ghost makes a pair of doggy bones seem to appear. One he sends flying at the puppy pokemon, and the other he sends Minshi's way, then he giggles more and pants at them like a dog.
(I had to leave at this point - but hey, it was fun!)
