Amazon Fishing Trip 2
This is a continuation of photos from page one. Did I mention the 36 different species of monkeys. I brought my epikit in case I got bit by a spider, venomous snake, killer bee, night wasp, or other poisonous bug. There was the most beautiful butterfly down there and they were plentiful. If you have ever seen blue neon tinfoil fly, that is what it looked like. Here are some more adventures of "Jungle John".
This was our bathtub. It was only safe to bath in groups for fear of crocs and jaguars mistaking you for dinner. We had to remove a 15 foot black croc from camp that tried to eat our washgirl. The Indians will not harm them though. They consider crocs, anacondas, and dolphin sacred. You must shave after bathing and not prior to bathing because of the pirahna!
"Jungle John" is ready for action. Let's go fishing.
Amazonian Caymen Crocodile. This one is about 10 feet long. I actually tried to catch this one until it tried to tail slap me and turned to bite.
Amazonian Black Crocodile. This one is approximately 17-18 feet long.
"Amazon John" with a freshly caught croc. I went out croc hunting with the Indians one night. We caught them and released them for fun.
Deadly Freshwater Stingray. This one is about 4 feet across and they were plentiful. Shuffle your feet when bathing or you could be stung by the barb. It results with the victim in a coma and death usually ensues.
Fishing Village and market in Manaus.
