November Meeting – 3rd Monday, November 17 at Bergner’s in
Sheridan Village 7:00 P.M. “I Can Read Your Mind” Mentalism
magic. Nomination for officers of the club for 2009 is scheduled. Bergner's in
Sheridan Village, second floor meeting room, Lake and Sheridan
in Peoria. (Park in the back on Lake and after
entering use the elevator to the right or the escalator ahead and to the
left. In the back of the second floor children's department is a
double set of white doors, which is the meeting room.)
Show and Lecture By Magician John Calvert - Saturday,
November 22, 2008 - 7 p.m. - $10 PMA Members (spouses/sig. other free)
- $15 Non-Members and Youth (paaarent free) - Dragon's

We will be sponsoring a show and lecture by John Calvert. If you
have seen John before, he will be doing some of the old favorites but also some
new stuff and the buzz saw. John is in his late nineties and has
lectured for us before a few years ago to a packed house! He has
performed magic likely longer than any currently living American and
was a Western film star as well. We all had such an awesome time last
time watching John's classic ball, coin and cigarette manipulation, rope
effects, humor and audience interaction and talking with him and his wife Tammy
after the show. This is a rare opportunity to see one of America's
finest magicians ever! Please come and join us and bring family and
friends as John's lecture has much performance and audience interaction.
Last Month:
October Meeting, Monday, October 20 - This month’s meeting
focused on magic that was scary in nature. Performing were Mike Tate, Doc
Lowery and Gambit (Kyle Bassett).
Ed Ellis Lecture, Tuesday, October 21 - Ed's lecture was
well-attended and featured some very impressive and mind-blowing card
magic. There were several very favorable comments about the lecture and
the entertainment value that Ed presents at his performances.

Magic News:
The Peoria Magicians Assembly announces the Central Illinois Magic Get-Together
will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral,
downtown Peoria. Stay tuned for more information on lectures, close-up
magic, and the evening show.
