This book was amazing!  I was afraid it would be full of all kinds of New Age neuroticism, but it was actually quite good.  In it, author Gary S. Aumiller helps the reader to identify and get rid of the excess baggage in his life, both physical and emotional.  Aumiller is a police psychologist, helping the men in blue through the rough patches.  He writes his book in a unique format.  He uses a composite patient, Michael, and leads the reader step by step through Michael's treatment.  To keep things interesting, Aumiller uses a conversational format.  Most of the book is like being a fly on the wall at Michael's counseling sessions.

The very first step that Aumiller insists upon is removing the clutter from your life.  Yes, the physical clutter.  Knick knacks, extra "toys" that never get played with or are too expensive to maintain (like Michael's boat), and extra vacation property that never gets used.  Flylady would be proud.  He also guides Michael (and hence the reader) through eliminating financial clutter (consolidating all accounts into one savings and one checking account, writing fewer checks a month by taking advantage of your bank's bill-paying feature, and so on).  He then proceeds to emotional baggage and even relationships that no longer fit into the reader's lifestyle.  If your life seems too complicated, be sure to check out this book!
