I love the TV show CSI.  One day they mentioned this classic book, and ever since then, I've been wanting to read it.  Lo and behold, I found it on my husband's book shelf!  I read it right away, and instantly became an Agatha Christie fan.

In a nutshell, Christie's Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, finds himself immersed in a murder mystery as he travels through Western Europe aboard the Orient Express, a popular train.  One of his fellow travelers is found dead on the first morning of the voyage.  Because the train has become snowbound, the murderer has to be aboard!  Poirot spends the rest of his trip following clues and finding out who killed the man.  It won't be giving away the ending to say that there is little sympathy for the victim, who had kidnapped and murdered a young child.  But you will be surprised by the ending!

While the story itself is very interesting, Christie's writing style is even more of a joy to read.  Like many of the early 20th century authors, she doesn't merely tell a story.  She draws the reader in and makes her feel like she's part of the action as well.  You will truly enjoy this book!
