Sourcebook Project is now online; Scott Ash's New Canberra,

- Happy Birthday, America!
- I have been contacted by Matthew Prager, and he has granted me
permission to host all four of his Challenge articles. Two
are "rule expansions" ( Black Market and Jacked In),
the other two are adventures ( Hot Stuff and The Edge of
Memory). They are now available on the
2300AD magazine articles
page. Thank you Matthew!!!
- My thanks to Terry Kuchta for pointing out that "The WIG
page" link in the Middlemen adventure needed updating. The
updated article has the corrected link.
- May 28th, 2000
- Tyge Sjöstrand has been working on a generic set of star
system generation rules, titled World Generation 2, which can
be used with 2300AD. The most recent draft version is available
in PDF format here ( and in HTML format on Peter Trevor's
website)
. Thank you Tyge!!!
- I have made some interesting discoveries about Civilian
Spacer Pay in 2300AD, and have written an article
about them.
- Both of these are now available on the
Best of the 2300AD Mailing List page.
- PDF versions of Naka's An African Names Resource for 2300
are now available on the Name lists for
2300 AD characters and ships page. My thanks to William
Miller for doing the PDF conversion.
- April 3rd, 2000
- eGroups has
finished their "assimilation" of Onelist.com ( which had
been hosting most of the 2300AD-themed mailing lists). So
I have updated all of my How to join
the various 2300AD mailing lists page with all the revised
subscription/email links. For more information about the
merger, see
eGroups.com's news/FAQ page.
- While generating some fully detailed NPCs using my Char
Gen software, I noticed an error with one of the star names in
the colony list datafile. There is now a patch containing
the repaired clnylist.dat file ( which is used by all
versions of my char gen software) is now availiable in the
software download section. Once
you have downloaded the patch, extract and move/copy the repaired
clnylist.dat file into the directory where you previously
installed the char gen software ( replacing the older flawed data
file, with the same name).

- Everything old is sometimes new again, check out Old Ranks

2300AD section of this site. Thank you David!!!
- February 23rd, 2000
- Ben Aaronovitch's International
Brigade, which was discussed on the 2300ad mailing list in
1999, and is now online. In the months since getting Ben's
permission to host this, his email address has changed. Does
anyone have his newest one? If so, please contact
me.
- Jan 31st, 2000
- Newmark's Scouts is now available on both the
2300AD magazine articles page,
and the
2300 AD articles from The Travellers' Digest magazine
page ( as well as cross-linked into other sections of this website)
. Thank you Roger!!!!!!
- Terry Kuchta helped by scanning and OCRing it for me
. Thank you Terry!
- I now have enough German-speaking volunteers helping me with
my German names list ( see my request on the 19th). Thank you
all for your quick responses.
- Jan 24th, 2000
DGP's The Travellers' Digest magazine's 2300AD
articles are here!!!!!
- After nearly three years of requesting to host this material
( since March of 1997), my patience and persistance have been
rewarded. My thanks to Roger Sanger, owner of DGP ( which owns
the copyrights on these articles), for granting permission for me
to host the 2300 AD articles from DGP's The Travellers'
Digest magazine on my website.
- Seventeen of them are now online ( the remaining two will
follow soon). You can find them on both the
2300AD magazine articles page,
and the 2300
AD articles from The Travellers' Digest magazine page
( as well as cross-linked into other sections of this website).
- Thank you Roger!!!!!!
- For some strange reason, I never scanned three of the articles
back in 1997 for my own private personal use ( keyword searches etc,
plus to have the raw text ready to HTML when Roger said yes). My
scanner is currently down, but Terry Kuchta came to my assistance with
scans of these three ( one is in the current bunch, the other two are
the ones that will follow). Thank you Terry!
- Jan 19th, 2000
- The Name lists for characters and
ships page now has a new external link. It is to Rachel
Kronick's excellent article on Chinese [Mandarin] Names for
Gamers, which includes an excellent pronunciation guide
. Thank you Rachel!
- There is also an updated URL for the extremely helpful
Eponym: International Names website.
- Does anyone speak German? I have a list of
German names that I need some volunteers to look over for errors
( I am sure there are some missing umlauts). If you can help,
please contact me.
- Jan 1st, 2000
- Happy New Year! Just one more year until the
