* "Flat" searches on the ecliptic plane can be conducted if the target is known to be within a certain distance of the ecliptic plane: Passive: 0.48 au for Delta and Improved Alpha; 0.044 au for Kennedy, Suffren, Retief, Killiecrankie, Scout Junior, and Golf; 0.036 for Alpha, Beta, Epsilon, and Hotel; 0.032 for Hamburg; 0.028 for Ypres, Oscar; 0.024 for Kiev and Aconit; 0.016 for Sachsen. Active: 0.076 for Delta; 0.072 for Alpha, Improved Alpha, Beta; 0.068 for Kennedy and Ypres; 0.06 for Suffren; 0.048 for Kiev, Epsilon, and Golf; 0.036 for Sachsen, Aconit, Exeter, Scout Junior; 0.032 for Hotel; 0.02 for Hamburg. If this is not the case a full 3-D search must be conducted using those figures. All figures in the table assume vessels moving at maximum speed in Star Cruiser ( Kennedy corrected to 10 from the incorrect 9 listed in rules). The target size consideration for the passive figures is a radiated signature 2 body, as in a Kafer freighter at All Stop. The active figures consider a reflected signature 3 body, as a 1000 cubic meter supply cache of 10 x 10 x 10 meters of synthetic construction.

** Scout Junior is listed per hour/per sortie of 4.17 hours, half of fuel capacity( half out and half back). If using active sensors on parallel course while refueling or while carried by Killiecrankie, figures are 4.15 au² for active 2-D and 0.235 au³ active 3-D per day.

* "Flat" searches on the ecliptic plane can be conducted if the target is known to be within a certain distance above or below the ecliptic plane: Small: 0.052 au for Udet; 0.044 for Wespe and Donovan,; 0.028 for Wellington; 0.024 for Riche, Bonaparte, and FS-17A. Large: 0.072 for Udet; 0.064 for Wespe and Donovan; 0.048 for Wellington; 0.044 for Riche, Bonaparte, and FS-17A. Figures for Kafer fighters are in the warship table. Combat radius is in hours( half endurance out, half endurance back). The Small target is a signature 2, including All Stop kafer freighter, and the Large target is a signature 7 active Kafer Alpha-class battleship. All figures assume vessels moving at maximum speed under Star Cruiser rules.
