The following tables will give 2300AD rpg gamemasters ( and players) a better idea of the survival odds for air/sea/ground vehicles when they are hit during combat in the roleplaying game ( using the standard vehicle damage system from the role-playing game -- see DG pages 54 and 59).
Just take the weapon's DPV ( for that range band) and subtract the vehicle's armor for the facing hit, then check that line of the proper table below to see the odds.
For example, a hypothetical wheeled APC ( 8 armor all sides), is struck in the left side by a light canon of some sort ( DPV 30). What is the chance it will be immobilized ( take a "mobility" hit)?
30 DPV - 8 Armor = 22 ( the value to look for on the 2nd table below -- since it is a hit to the vehicle's side).
The odds of being immobilized are 28% ( the value on the 20+ line in the 2nd table).

Air and sea vehicles have no suspensions, so use the "Overhead Hits" table for them, to figure the odds. Just remember to use the armor rating for the actual "face/side" hit.
* Suspension hits can result in no damage, half speed, or immobilized ( the equivalent of a Mobility hit). This depends on the toughness of the suspension ( not addressed in the above tables).
"0-" means "zero or less".
"40+" means "40 or higher".
