Total Manpower ( including Individual Ready Reserve):411,014 Manpower Breakdown:53% Regular Army 17% National Guard 24% USAR 6% Individual Ready Reserve Army Chief of Staff = Gen. Joseph Weiss ( also head of JCS currently, his term is up in 2308). Introduction: The US Army has been around ever since there has been an America, beginning in 1776. In 2300, like all other American institutions, it has expanded to the stars, and while they on the average, have more difficulty responding to crises off-world, they do tend to be more able to fight campaigns of long duration, unlike their Marine counterparts. Army units also pack more of a mechanized punch than their Marine counterparts and finally, the Army can truly orchestrate those multi-year campaigns that the Marines are not trained to do. Organization: The Regular Army consists of 10 Divisions and 5 separate Brigades. The Army Reserve consists of another 5 Divisions and 5 Brigades. Finally the various National Guard components provide another 3 Divisions and 6 Brigades. The Army still is based on the Total Force concept, but has made it now that all three components of the Army possess combat arms troops, thus making the Army more resilient and able to have a "depth of force". A list of units and current posts is provided below. *=M9/M24 equipped NG Unit Ft Meade, MD = 221st Infantry Bde, 197th Infantry Bde, I Corps HQ and Support Command, 51st Infantry Bde ( MDNG) Ft Chafee, AR = 1st Infantry Division, II Corps HQ and Support Command Ft Bragg, NC = 82nd Orbit Drop/Airborne Division Ft Benning, GA = 101st Airmobile Division, III ( American Response Team) Corps and Support Command Ft Stockton, CA = 4th Armoured Division Ft Knox, KY = 3rd Armoured Division, VI Corps HQ and Support Command Ft Drum, NY = 29th Light Infantry Division Ft Schwartzkopf, FL = 2nd Infantry Division Ft Lawton, WA = 3rd Infantry Division Ft Collins, CO = 4th Infantry Division Ft Sill, OK = 5th Infantry Division, 116th Armoured Cavalry Regiment ( *) ( OKNG) Ft Patton, Ellis = 11th ACR, IV ( American Arm Command) Corps HQ and Support Commmand, 184th Infantry Brigade ( Army Reserve) Ft Pershing, King = 1st Special Forces Group, 172nd Infantry Brigade ( Army Reserve), 222nd Infantry Brigade ( *) ( Colonial NG) Ft Reiley II, Hermes = 3rd Armoured Cav Regiment, 36th Infantry Division ( *) ( Colonial NG) Ft Polk, LA = 1st Armoured Div ( Army Reserve), 2nd Armoured Division ( Army Reserve), 8th Infantry Division ( Army Reserve), 9th Infantry Division ( Army Reserve).
