The Armilla Patrol: 11 ships, under the command of Commodore Paul Haddocks
consisting of these ships, all of which were awarded the Battle Honour
Kuwait 1991, which was awarded to Royal Navy units in the Gulf War which
were either engaged in operations against Iraqi forces or engaged in logistic
support duties in the central and Northern Gulf to the west of the meridian
51 degrees East at any time between 17 January and 28 February 1991.
Atherstone, Brave, Brazen, Brilliant, Cardiff, Cattistock, Dulverton,
Exeter, Gloucester, Hecla, Herald, Hurworth, Ledbury, London, Manchester
and the Auxiliaries Argus, Bayleaf, Diligence, Fort Grange, Olna, Resource,
Sir Bediivere, Sir Galahad, Sir Percivale and Sir Tristram. Royal Navy
Sea Kings also formed part of the Support Helicopter Force Middle East.
Royal Navy Frigates and Destroyers also operated Royal Navy Sea Lynx HAS.Mk
3s which calked up 15 Iraqi ship kills.
