By The Plain Dealer staff
WABASH, Ind. A "short list of suspects" is still being looked at in the
probe of Friday night's shooting of three expensive horses near Urbana.
So reported the Wabash County Sheriff's Department this morning.
The horses, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Gary Wilcox, were shot on their
property sometime during the night with a .22 caliber rifle.
The Wilcoxes breed and harness racing horses and the three were
considered racing prospects.
Two were killed. The other, a young mare, survived but her racing prospects
now are considered uncertain by the Wilcoxes.
Sheriff Tim Roberts said the shooting were deliberate, not the work of
careless hunters.
