Senator Mathason

In the "pilot" when mulder first met scully he explained that he had some contacts in congress that let him persue his intrests (the x-files). This contact in congress is Senator Mathison...

He first showed up in "little green men". He told Mulder about a radio contact by an alien spacecraft in a SETI dish in P.R. over a concerto. He explained that he had 24 hours to go there and retreve the truth before the blue berret UFO retreval unit came and killed him.

Later in the Saga of the x-files X told mulder that the senator couldn't help him now. And that these people only had one policy: DENY EVERYTHING 1
