OKLAHOMA CITY

a conspiracy theory by janelle coen

The biggest government coverup known to all Americans is the JFK assassination. Conspirators everywhere have hundreds of theories about the validity of the government, but there have not been any major "cover-ups" since Roswell & Area 51. However, there were a lot of questions asked, & still unanswered, about the governments knowledge & involvement in the Oklahoma City bombing. This tragedy has made Timothy McVeigh a household name, but did he have a helping hand from our own government? America has always prided herself as a great democracy, where the government is "of the people, for the people, & by the people." Yeah. Sure. Whatever.

April 19, 1995 was the biggest threat of terrorism in American history. At 9:02 in the morning the Alfred P. Murrah building was bombed, which housed the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, & Firearms [(B)ATF], the alleged main target of the bombing. April 19, 1995 was also the date of the execution of white supremacist Richard Snell. He was convicted of murdering a black state trooper & and pawn shop owner whom he assumed was Jewish. April 19, 1993 was the (B)ATF showdown @ WACO. 81 devotees of religios cult leader David Koresh died in the blazing inferno near WACO. After the raid, which caused quite a bit of speculation, six high ranking officials resigned from the ATF. April 19 was also the "National Mitilia Day" of the Montana Militia, a radical group formed to oppose the government.

As Americans, we would not think of a terrorist as once being in the United States army. Timothy McVeigh was an officer in the army, however, he joined the army for personal reasons. He set out to live a personal dream of being a "special" soldier, giving himself personal gratification through military achievement. When he left the army, before achieving his goals, he became known as an Amerinoid, and American who is obsessively paranoid. He was convinced that the government was behind the JFK assassination, & he believed that he was electronically monitored by the government. He swore that the army was keeping tabs on him through a computer chip implanted in his buttocks.

Before WACO, the government attacked a family who they believed dealt in illegal weapons @ their home in Ruby Ridge. When the FBI became involved, a deadly shoot out began, killing people on both sides of the fight. Eventually, the family gave up, but not until after the damage was done. To Timothy McVeigh, this showed how the government could attack whom ever they pleased, & he began a crusade that ended with the Alfred P. Murrah building.

The explosion brought on the federal building was administered by a rented Ryder truck, packed with blue barrels containing almost five thousand pounds of explosives made from fuel oil & fertilizer. Immediately after the accident President Clinton made a public announcement that promised the nation that those responsible would be apprehended and justice would be swift. Apparently, as FBI officials sifted through debris, Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating accidentally came across the Ryder truck's axle, bearing a traceable serial # . This proved to be the FBI's best piece of evidence. The next day two sketches were released to the media & police agencies nationwide. McVeigh was conveniently picked up after the bombing for speeding, driving a car without a license, & carrying a concealed weapon. The next day, two days after the bombing, McVeigh was charged with the having been involved in the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah building in Oklahoma City. McVeigh considered himself "a prisoner of war." The FBI, eager to solve the bombing & put away the "bad guy," was hasty & sloppy in their investigation. Under attack by hundreds of Americans, the FBI was even taken to court to challenge their evidence. The FBI continues to maintain its innocence.

People everywhere believe that McVeigh is the guilty man & that he is the all American terrorist. However, many "Amerinoids" believe that the government was more involved than they let know, as is usually the case. Whether or not McVeigh was tabbed or followed is debatable, but there are many unanswered questions.
