He was the one that told mulder the properties of scullys cancer in "one breath". and softly gave sympathy to mulder. he is the most talkitive of the lone gunmen. and oftenly tells mulder "thats why we like you mulder, your ideas are weirder than ours". But without him no one would take the ideas of the Lone Gunmen seriously (like they do now).
