This is a photo of the process for casting a model part this example being the turret for the Panther F seen above. The sand mold is shown opened after the part was poured and has cooled ( hot molds smoke too much to photograph well).
This process will be covered in greater detail in the following months. For many of us Large scale armor modelers this is the primary method for obtaining the parts to realize our modeling vision. It is not difficult to do and there is much information and support on the 'net' for metal casting.
