This series of photos shows some details of the installation of a turret drive for a Sankyo Type 74. In these photos the major upper section of the turret is removed to show just the lower section and flange to which the tooth belt is glued. The final photo shows the aluminum split ring clamp in an early stage of machining. This clamp was bolted to the lower hull sidewall and the gear head motor mounted output shaft up as you can see the tooth pulley engaging the belt in the first 2 photos. It can't be readily seen from the photos but the gearhead motor's output shaft is offset from center making adjustments a snap: just turn the motor clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease ] the clearance between belt and pulley. Works well!
