A STUDY OF THE IMAI PORSCHE ELEPHANT MODEL (Ca. 1977)

These are side and top views of the IMAI Porsche Elephant. The model is marvelous. I will let the photos speak for themselves. I no longer run the model/ hasn't been run in over 15 years although charged up batteries is all it takes. Informationally in the background (behind the secondElephant) are a Bandai 1:15 Tiger I (early); a Tamiya 1:16 Sherman 105mm (first release model kit with the plated steel tracks) and furthest back a Tamiya 1:16 Leopard I.

This side view of the running gear. Wonderful detail; when I did this model I hadn't yet discovered metric hex bolts to replace the 'funky' slotted screws on the wheels.

This view of the idler sprocket and track. Isn't the detail marvelous? Note the fender front cover and spring.
