HOMELESS

like that old man on the corner
wearing newspaper shoes
not 1/2 a dollar in his pocket
a sign that reads "will work for food"
dont you want to help him
take him home and clean him up
give him but one home cooked meal
keep him warm and safe & loved....
just like that tent, behind the wall
of that local bar
is where this man calls his home
his pride wont lead him far
dont you want to love him
for the human being he is
and know that we cant judge him
his life aint much but it is his....
just like the soul he carries underneath his skin
his heart beats just like yours' and mine
he just chose to quit the game we're in
dont you want to ask him
why he gave up all
he says, he really never did
his faith survived the fall....
like that old man on the corner
traveling from place to place
he said once he had it all
but he never lost his faith.....
