Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimy
Preston Foerder
Saturday January 20, 2007
2:00pm
.
A puppet show of the Grimms Fairy Tales, but wheres the puppeteer?  The janitor takes over.  Using the tools of his trade, he brings two tales to life. The Spirit in the Bottle and The Frog Prince.  Created and performed by award-winning puppeteer, Preston Foerder, sponges, mops, and even garbage cans are transformed into all the characters and settings of this brilliant, hysterically funny show.  Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimy has received the UNIMA-USA Citation of Excellence, the highest award in puppetry. One of the funniest shows you will ever see.
Cinderella
Tanglewood Marionettes
Wednesday February 21, 2007
2:00pm
Set in the eighteenth century and featuring a dozen lavishly costumed 30 marionettes, this production of Cinderella is a Tanglewood Marionettes showpiece. The story unfolds as the pages of a giant book open to reveal each beautifully painted settingthe village square, the rustic kitchen, the magnificent ballroom, plus many more (one of our scenes even pops right out of the book!). All your favorite characters are here, from gentle Cinderella to the bumptious Step-Sisters and the charming Prince,
and each marionette is manipulated with precision and grace by our talented puppeteers. Our telling is based on the original beloved tale, but we do offer a few new surprises: Cinderellas method of conveyance to the ball is NOT your traditional coach-and-four, and, when all hope seems lost, a clever little bluebird saves the day for Cinderella. A classic fairy tale told with wit and style, Tanglewood Marionettes production of Cinderella is sure to please audiences of all ages.
Trickster Tales
Barefoot Puppets
Saturday March 17, 2007
2:00pm
How does a spider beat an elephant in a bout of tug-of-war??  Youll find out when Barefoot Puppets presents Trickster Tales!  This 45-minute performance stars Anansi the Spider in two traditional folktales of the Beluba and Ashanti peoples.
In addition to Anansi, you will meet Elephant, Hippo, Namibi the Python, Osebo the Leopard, a swarm of angry hornets and an even angrier Sky-God! Colorful scenery, original music, lots of puns and an eleven-foot stage create a wonderful backdrop for the antics of these expressive rod and hand puppets. It's a high energy show with fun for all ages! Heidi Ruggs Barefoot Puppets is one of our most popular performers; her shows always sell out. Please purchase your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Jack and the Beanstalk
Nappys Puppets
Wednesday April 4, 2007
2:00pm

Jack and the Beanstalk is based on the Appalachian folktale and is presented in a four part mini-series. In between this American classic there is a roller coaster ride of short stories, vignettes and songs from children's literature, traditional puppet theater, and the imagination of the puppeteer.
The show features hand crafted shadow figures and is fast paced, action-packed, and full of laughs. What a treat Jim performed for us our first season and we have been trying to bring him back ever since. You have seen his puppets on the PBS show Between the Lions as well as many other programs. Dont miss the chance to see his beautiful puppets and laugh at his unique humor.

Join us for the finals program of the season as Bob Abdou, know around the world as Mr. Puppet returns to New Jersey to entertain us with his eclectic assortment of puppets and fun. Every child in the audience will receive a finger puppet and collectable puppet trading card.
