Here are some images with descriptions regarding the removal and inspection of my old boat engine and the installation of the new engine. |

Before Shot of my engine - this was taken when I bought the boat. |

Here is the engine still in the boat I have already removed the manifolds. |

Here is the empty engine bay. The bilge area is a mess and will require alot of cleaning and scrubbing before I can paint it with a bilge coat. I'll post an after picture later. |

Here is the engine out of the boat on an engine lift. The Velvet Drive 71C transmission is still attached. |

Front shot of the engine. The lowest pully (Raw Water Pump) shows significant rust marking the high water line. |

A shot of the engine side (this side faced to the port). Corrosion can be seen all over the engine, especially the oil pan area. |

BIG TROUBLE?? Here is the transmission after I removed it from the engine. There was alot of water held in there along with significant marine growth. The flywheel is OK but the flexplate needs to be replaced. The transmission oil was clean and in great shape. No water was in the tranny. I will start rebuilding the tranny next week (June 10th). |

Got it on an engine stand. Although I will not reuse this engine for my boat I may turn it into a great engine for my 86 Blazer. I would like to bore it out and make it a 383 Stroker. I have most of the front components off here. |
