Update:             April 16, 2003
Launch Date:    April 28, 2003
I am still alive.  It has been a long time since I updated the site but here is the latest.  We have set a launch date of April 28, 2003.  Recent work in the past few months includes the COMPLETE rewiring of the boat, reinstalling the helm after installing new switches, new instruments and new engine controls.  GPS, Fishfinder, and VHF all installed.  Engine raw water cooling intake, engine exhaust piping installed.  Fuel tank fill hoses, vent hoses and feed hoses installed.  Second battery tray installed.  Glassed in front window completed and completely faired with epoxy fairing compound.  New floor installed in head.  New bulkhead installed behind helm that is also part of the inside wall in head.  New captain's chairs with new pedastals, spiders and sliders.  Front windshield reinstalled.  Bow pulpit reinstalled.  More work has been done but I can't think of what is was.  More updates to come......
Here is the exterior.  The glassed in front window is faired and ready for primer and paint.  The windshields are in, the antenna, GPS and horn are installed on the T-top.  More to do......
Here is the front window after it was primered with Epoxy Primer.
FRONT WINDOW DONE!!!! The glassed in front window has been painted.
Here is the battery trays.  I had to fabricate and install the tray on the right ot of fiberglass.  I have also installed here a new battery switch (a really good one, not one of the crappy red Perko switches), and a panel for power distribution.  This bus panel has distributes power to the starter and common power (that is inturn connected to the 60 amp fuse next to the bus bar) hot line that is run all the way into the galley where the fuse panel is located.
Here is the engine with the exahust hoses installed.  More details on this later.....
Here is a picture of the bow area showing where I have painted and where I have not. Quite a difference!  The finished bow pulpit is also visible here.
Here is Y collector that combines the two exhaust hoses into one.  I had to fabricate the mount the Y collector is seated on.  The old exhaust system had the old Y collector and exhaust hoses wedged down between the stringer and tunnel.  This was a terrible situation that created a low spot in the exhaust causing water to remain inside the exhaust system at all times.  The exhaust system now has a constant incline down from the engine to the exhaust tip so NO water remains in the system.
Here is the new fuel tank selector valve I had to fabricate and install.  The old valve had a complicated series of pressure attachments that would not seal properly.  You can also see the fuel filter which had to be taken off the engine and mounted on the bulkhead.  The prior filter location made contact with one of the stringers thereby making filter removal impossible.  This relocation causes no problems, infact it makes changing the filter easier.
Here is the fuse panel I "designed."  There are two hot panels and one ground panel (on the bottom).  It is functional if not glamerous.  All connections are heat shrink sealed and, where required, sealed with liquid tape.
Here is a shot of where I had to repair the walkway on the starboard side.  This damage went all the way through the deck and into the galley.
NEW SEATS!!!!!
Since my first try to refinish the galley got screwed up, I had to wash the entire galley with acetone and a wax stripping solution so I could redo the entire galley.  That sucked!!!!
