BLUEBONNETS

I have no luck with plants
My thumbs are never green
Whenever I plant little seeds -
Again - they're never seen!
A friend sent me some seeds
From Ferris, Texas-way -
The little seeds the pack contained?
BlueBonnets! - Happy Day!
I had to try my best,
Determined to succeed-
I opened up the little pack
And counted out 10 seeds.
Into a big clay pot
Some potting soil I placed
And planted every tiny seed -
With water, amply laced.
The days turned into weeks
And suddenly appeared
Four little pale-green baby shoots
For them I was afeared!
The weather got so warm
I put them on the porch
With half and half of sun and shade
I knew they wouldn't scorch.
Weeks and weeks went by
The shoots got big and strong
I planted them into the ground -
But thought, 'they'll not last long.'
BUT
Today, lo, and behold -
A BlueBonnet I spied!!
I was so glad to see it there
I sat right down and cried *.*
The thing that I have learned
From this planting test?
Just take your time, and keep the faith . . .
And Nature does the rest!!
