Many entered this valley fearfully
on their lips, the 23rd Psalm.
From this valley many never returned.....
for it's name is Viet Nam.
To comprehend its original purpose
has been impossible many years,
though lost and seemingly forgotten.....
time has only magnified the fears.
Too long has our government,
turned heads the other way.
This added to it's poor creditability.....
now survivors believe little they say.
So what is the real answer?
Needed even more desperately now.
Though there's increased lip service....
truth is still missing somehow.
What's wrong with a simple admission
that we'd made a damaging mistake?
Then bury it quietly, with honesty.....
ending this ungodly prolonged wake.
