She awoke, threw back the curtains, and greeted the new October morn. He lay beside her, still in dreamland. She wanted to share the beauty of the fall colors with him this morning, but hesitated to awaken him.
He had been a lover to love the night before, and she knew she would have trouble erasing him from her mind if the need arose.
They had met on the dance floor, bumping into each other with different partners, and immediately sensing the "chemistry" passing between them. They subsequently danced the night through, and continued when they reached her apartment. A few martinis and a few close dances made the sheets much too inviting to ignore.
So what would the new day hold, she thought as she made her way to the shower.
She would soon know, as his familiar face appeared in the partially-opened shower door. And suddenly there he was, stripped down and holding her close in the warm flow, cleansing bodies and memory for the beginning of their new day, and what it held in store for the unknown days of the future.
