I look, I stare, I try to peek around the corner,
I use everything in my bag of tricks,
but I can't see what's ahead for me
beyond the bend in the road.
The bend in the road is too bent!
Who sent me this bend?
Well, if I can't see around the bend,
I'll ignore what's in store for me in this life,
and look into the life beyond,
into the ethereal, into the vast reaches of space
where I may encounter my end-up-ness.
But this quest is as bad as
my inability to see 'round the bend.
Somebody please send me a clue
as to what to do!
But wait.
Now I'm intrigued with the other side.
That ever-ever land beyond the bend,
beyond the space,
almost staring me in the face,
and beckoning.
Do I want to go there?
Must I go there?
I'm tired of conjecturing.
I think I'll go back,
and go 'round the bend.
