SENSES OF SUMMER
 SWAMPETTA ([email protected])
How does Summer taste?
Melted Ice and chocolate paste,
Watermelon and Grape Kool-Aid.
Bologna eaten in the shade.
How does Summer Smell?
Seaweed drying on a shell.
Little children, drenched in sea
Tanning lotion on you and me.
How does Summer Sound?
While laughing gulls circle 'round,
Rumbling breakers slap the sand.
Happy shrieking it's own brass band.
How does Summer Look?
The sunset sky a story book.
Days are edged with molten gold.
The color of fog is even bold.
How does Summer Feel?
Sometimes soft, a velvet reel.
Others sharp, a stinging thorn
On which a ruby rose is borne.
How will Summer end?
Autumn's chill will start to blend
Then winter's chased by frisky spring
Bringing Summer's birds to boldly sing
