SUMMER SOLSTICE � Sharon ([email protected]) Summer solstice and the day stood still, fairies danced on windowsills. Butterflys flitted among the Garden, as do hummingbirds without pardon. Birds soaring in the clear blue sky, teaching their babies how to fly. Barbecue picnics on the back lawn, grandpa rocking in his chair starts to yawn. Children with puppy are out to play, men gossiping at fence with not much to say. Sprinklers keeping the grass ever so green, Joggers out running to try to keep lean. Boys at the pond going skinning dipping, girls with sodas with straws just for sipping. Laughter from children no longer in school, playing in water to try to keep cool.
