SHENANDOAH SUNDAY
 Lynn ([email protected])
Lynn is the daughter of LaraOct7.

Quiet, gentle stirrings heard this dark and sleepy morn
Rooster crows his wake-up call, a snow-capped sunrise born.

The brook now ripples 'round the rocks a tinsel-tune delight
Its tale of traveled waterslide spoke softly through the night.

The whispered waters, ever clear, now tumble down the stream
The written word unspoken here, yet, truths and stirring dreams!

Pastel brushings, pink with grey, alight the sky of haze,
Blue Ridge Mountains colored white, a pale new winter's day.

Heavy snow-topped branches bend, their load a burden felt
'Til afternoon the sun on high with brightened warmth will melt.

All velvet-white the Earth surround, look how the bare trees dress!
A Shenandoah Sunday here, a special day of rest.
