THE RED BALLOON
 Sharon ([email protected])
A red balloon floats upward in the air
floating over treetops and the Clark County fair.
A small child watches as it soars high
tears in her eyes as she starts to cry.
For a few brief moments it was in her hand
then broke loose and flew over the land.
It flutters up high out of her reach,
her father tries to calm her as she begins to screech.
Don't cry little Angel another I shall buy.
I want that one Daddy, the one flying high.
But darling it is gone to the treetops up there,
to the angels up high will you need to share.
I can't bring it back has gone away
to join other balloons that have gone astray.
Another will just have to do
as your balloon to the clouds has flew.
Crying and sobbing the little girl was blue
Here you go Angel, cotton candy for you.
The tears dried right up as fast as could be
as the little girl tasted the sweet goo with glee.
