• To temporarily map a network drive, click on any of the blue/purple links below
• To create a permanent link for the computer that you are working on that will re-open whenever you sign on, follow the instructions at the bottom of the page
• You must be on a UPHS computer or have a VPN running to access any of these drives.

 

Penn drive: \\Uphs.pennhealth.prv\Data\Hup$

What’s in here: Photography folder with our own individual folders for storing photos, Duhring photography, scanned HUP documents (in folder labeled “resident” – please note that this is NOT the shared resident folder). This is a good place to store photos for someone else to download later (e.g. Sam)

 

Shared resident drive: \\Uphsdrm1\residents

What’s in here: Stiefel Review, Board Review, Formulary, Residency Handbook, First Year Handbook, Photo Directory, Useful Shared Documents (including digital consult notes and consent forms.) Do not save patient photos to this drive because it is open to the entire hospital.

What’s in here: your own personal folder to save personal files. The above links should only work for your own name.

Make sure you are logged in as yourself and not as someone else if your link does not work.

 

* To create a permanent link, follow these instructions. Ask me if you need help.

1. Open the My Computer window (path: Start button > My Computer)

2. On the menu bar, click Tools > Map Network Drive

3. Specify a drive letter if you want

4. In the folder line: enter any of the drives from above.

5. Click finish

6. The mapped network drive should appear in your “My Computer” Window.

7. To make a shortcut on the desktop, right click the drive and drag onto the desktop

8. This will not work unless you are logged in as yourself, and you must do it for each separate computer.
