MBSL is an acronym for Multi-Purpose Basic Scripting Language. It was devised by Justin Schumacher (aka Bugaboo), the creator of Odyssey, based on the Visual Basic language. MBSL allows you to enhance your Odyssey server with custom messages, commands, and logic, allowing you to create new and unique interactive content. Recent updates to Odyssey by Steve Harris (aka Steverino) have made scripting essential for performing many actions.
The server program can be downloaded at the Odyssey website. Download the Server Updater and run it to download the rest of the files. If that does not work, try the Server Installation Package.
Computers behind a firewall have to have the firewall disabled for either the program server.exe or the port 2597. Routers have to have incoming connections on port 2597 forwarded from the router to their computer. PortForward.com has instructions on forwarding router ports. People with multiple computers connected to one Internet service usually have routers. Additionally, people with VoIP (telephone through the Internet) need to forward the port on their telephone adapter.
Now that the server's up and running, create an account and log in. From the server window, click Add God and give yourself 255 access and all of the god functions, especially View and Edit Scripts.
